Switching from Windows to Linux - Couple of Questions

Recommended Posts

Hello good people,

I'm getting a new PC and will use Linux. Do I have to buy FM19 again in the Linux version?

And will my save game and editor files from my Windows PC work on the Linux version?

Many thanks!

It works perfectly well using the Proton system and you can definitely use all your save games, graphic files and custom leagues on a Linux machine.

This was the location of my FM2019 files on my Linux Mint installation

/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/872790/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/

Location of FM2019 database files re realname fix

/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2019/data/database/db

Location of Preference and Cache Folders

/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/872790/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/application Data/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/

What was it like performance-wise compared to Windows?

Hello,

Sorry to bump an old post.

I have just started using this on Linux Mint and its running pretty smoothly. The issue I have is that for the life of me can't find my install files or preference files (I'm pretty new to Linux). When I right click on the properties for the FM shortcut on my desktop it just points me to the desktop again. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark.

Look at my post of 27 May.

Put the skins in the folder ... Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/Skins

Put the kits in ... Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/Graphics/kits

or whatever folder the kit manufacturer recommends

Have you managed to use any of the data updates on Mint? If so, can you point me towards a folder.

Thanks for all your help!!
