Training impact upcoming match ???

Recommended Posts

The new traning feature seems to be the best FM feature in years - I love it !! :applause:
My question is - I know that training have an impact on my players in the long term as their attributes will increase slowly over time.

But does training also have an impact on my players in the short term - boosting my players before the upcomming match in certain areas of the game?

Lets say my players have poor passing and crossing attributes and a week before an upcoming match my team is training the hole week on the "chance cration" session - will my players' passes and crossing be slightly better in the match (and will create more chances in the match) or does it not have an impact at all (in the short term)?

Yes, some sessions can affect an upcoming match. It's listed as one of the effects on the training page.

The tactics and training forum has this mentioned too:

The more specific you wish to be with training the more specialised of a squad you can craft. Training has both short term - the upcoming match - and longer term - player development and attribute growth - influences.

Ok, so that means "match preview" session doesn't have an impact on the upcomming match, because i can't see the effect it's listed on the training page! So whats the purpose with that session?

And what about my first question - if my players is training "chance creation" session 5 times the hole week - how will it impact the upcomming match ???

I don't have a Match Preview session, so I can't answer this.

Ah, my semi-pro team probably doesn't have this. Maybe because we don't have a Data Analyst.

@pukfm As you can see on that screenshot, you're going to put focus on tactical familiarity, cohesion and match sharpness.

When my team is fully familiar with their tactics and have good team cohesion a few months into the season, is it worth even doing the Match Preview or Match tactics sessions? I don't see what other benefits they have yet my assistant has scheduled them both before every match..

Match preview and review increase cohesion for next to no cost in terms of injury\fatigue etc, so no reason not to have them all the time AFAIK. No other effects that I can see though.

Match Practice as far as I can tell is the only way to increase sharpness in training, so very useful if you have big gaps between games or a number of players with low sharpness due to injury\not playing much.
