Women's Football in Football Manager

I think it would be pretty cool in future additions of Football Manager if it was possible to include the female clubs and national teams and also if they are playable.

A number of domestic leagues could be included for example the National Women's Soccer League of USA and the FA Women's Super League of England. Also a number of continental and international tournaments including the UEFA Women's Championship and the Women's World Cup for example.

Obviously there would be a some different things for the females in the game like:
Getting Pregnant - During the save they could  get pregnant and be off for about 9 months

Also if women were included in the game it would obviously entice more females to play football manager and would make a lot more people interested in women's football in real life.

If you have anything that would be a good idea to add to this idea then feel free to leave a comment

Women's football would be a good addition to FM, and I would certainly have a go at managing Arsenal Ladies if given the chance.

As has been discussed many times, though, it's not going to happen in the foreseeable future. Miles Jacobson has said in the past that women's football won't be included until several top leagues have similar average attendances to the Championship. Considering that the WSL struggles to compete with the National League in terms of attendances (and the champions Manchester City only get 2,250 spectators on average), I'm afraid that it's not a financially viable addition at this moment.

As for enticing more women to play FM by including women's teams, I'm not convinced. Has the addition of women's national teams to FIFA encouraged more women and girls to play that video game? It's impossible to say for sure, but I'd imagine that 90-95% of the small demographic of female FIFA players would enjoy playing the game anyway, regardless of the inclusion of women's teams.

That said, you've raised a few ideas that nobody has mentioned before when discussing this subject - pregnant players, for example. I'd imagine that this would only be applicable to newgens, as - for various reasons - it's unlikely that someone like Megan Rapinoe or Fara Williams, or even Steph Houghton, would get pregnant while in the prime of their career. There are some notable examples of active footballers taking sabbaticals to raise a family, like Katie Chapman, but it's a potentially thorny issue when it comes to a video game.

If the bar is Championship attendance (~17.8k), it'll never happen. It's impossible. Most women's teams don't even play in stadiums that hold 17,000 fans, and only one women's team in the world hits 17,000 on average (Thorns FC, NWSL). Event matches often draw big crowds--this year's Women's FA Cup drew 32k to Wembley, the first time it was held there, the Thorns hit 21,000 twice in 2016 and 20,000 for a semi-final, Orlando drew 23,000 for their opener--and international play draws big crowds, but it's rare for a women's club team to play in a venue capable of holding 8,000 fans, much less average 17,000.

As fans, we're better off continuing to make our own, as people have done with all the league mods for FIFA 16. FM likely won't ever include women. SIG have set a standard that no league is physically capable of hitting, and there's no point in waiting for them to change their minds.

If 17.8k is what is needed to be a playable league then why are numerous leagues with average attendance lower than playable? For example the Australian A-League doesn't have 17k
