Anyone who gets rid of the franchise has a fan in me :applause:Good luck!

Thanks, yeah I thought they would be a good club as I don't feel even a little bit guilty about losing them from the game.

In! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeves.

At the moment I'm just trying to decide on how I get my starting squad, select a load of players (myself or random) before starting game or start game with empty squad and then sign players.

EDIT - I decided on the latter as Auto-Fill didn't really work out as it took us way over wage budget and unable to employ staff.

We have found it very tough so far, will need to work on our tactics.
This is going to be a very hard season, the board wanted play-offs.
 We will be lucky to stay up.

SEPTEMBER 2016

The struggle continues though we finally have some points after a couple of
goalless draws against Oxford and Bury, Hopefully I can turn things around.

If I don't manage it soon then this could be a very short reign.

Ouch.

Yeah, messed up my plan, tbh I messed this up from the start, I really should have spent more time thinking and getting my starting squad.

I am thinking about making a fresh start to this, only this time I will use the create player option to get my starting squad, plus rather than try and fill the reserves as well I will just concentrate on first team and start with a squad of 21 players.

Also need to decide how I will play this in terms of manager, maybe use the unsackable when it is available or create a new manager if/when one gets sacked.

2 points in 13 is an achievement! :D

Better luck next time.

Yeah quite a start to the new game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I had my squad set up but then saw this thread.

Even though my squad doesn't look too bad I don't really want to to edit too much player wise for the reason I mentioned in that thread, maybe it will be easier to start without players and then sign my 21 man starting squad, or just get on with it and see how it goes, ideally I need to wait closer to full release anyway so that I can use the unsackable.

The former Everton player was signed after being recommended by my scout.

I have broken one of my rules as he is 23 not under 23 but I wanted to sign
a number one keeper so this will be the only time that rule is broken.

I was going to say!!! I've been playing for years and have never been lucky enough to get a son.  I didn't even realise that you could "cheat" to get a son.

Tony Cooper is Captain and Dan Edwards is Vice Captain.

Note: 21 players are created players, the only changes I made were to positions and some name changes, everything else was random and I only added players valued at 300k or less.

MAWS BOYS STILL FINDING LIFE TOUGH!

XyQZpW.jpg

We are still finding life tough but we are showing signs of improvement.
Despite the struggles we have had some good performances and results.
It might not be so important overall we still have a great chance of progress
in the Checkatrade Trophy when we take on Luton in our final group game.

also just noticed I don't have glasses.
I can use that as my excuse for struggling. ;)

November & December 2016

 RELEGATION BATTLE FOR MAWBOROUGH!

Pdl6AN.jpg

We have had an awful time in the league with defeat after defeat but finally
managed a win against Charlton, it was a fine display and should have been
a bigger margin and it is a result that makes me wonder why we can't perform
like that more often, it looked like we would return to losing ways straight away
but we produced a great comeback from 0-2 against Swindon with Morrison
scoring
another winner home from the penalty spot.

bl6ga2.jpg

We beat Luton 2-0 to win our group in the Checkatrade Trophy but we could
progress
any further as we slipped to a narrow defeat to Peterborough Utd.
In the FA Cup we beat Forest Green narrowly in the 1st Round and then were
taken to a replay after a 0-0 draw with Gateshead, the replay was chosen for tv.

We ran out comfortable winners in front of the BT Sport cameras.

We are away to Preston in the 3rd Round.

MAWBOROUGH COME THOUGH RELEGATION BATTLE!

Y8j7so.jpg

Well we did it, we stayed up, our media & board expectations might have been for us
to do much better and challenge for the play-offs but frankly that was bs as it is based on
the old club not for a club that is new and players just starting their careers anyway.
It was a struggle and painful to watch at times especially as we seemed to struggle against
teams around us and get our best results against teams higher up the table.

Transfer Window Signings!

gr8fTV.jpg

Elder, Dempsey & Bennett are the key signings as Cotterill & Butroid
have been loaned out and will see how they develope but will probably
just be back-up players if they stay at the club anyway.

Sold some players who were whinging and requested transfers including
Shane Sanchez who missed training on several occasions. We also loaned out
some new youth players so that they can get some first team football.

MAWBOROUGH IN PLAY-OFF CONTENTION!

lzQvnR.jpg

So far so good, still could have been better but I'll settle for this compared to being
in another relegation battle anyway, also as you can see we are through in the
Checkatrade Trophy again and we face West Ham Reserves, again it's not important

but from a personal point of view I would enjoy beating them, not so good in the
FA cup though as it was a sorry display against Leyton Orient who are a division below us.

Star Player

He has been great and his value is nearly 4 times what we paid for him.
Proving to be a very good bargain and looking set to break our scoring record.
He will probably do it well before the end of season as he just needs 6 more goals.

I have already rejected a load of previous offers
and now it's getting very close to a possible £1m.

EDIT:

and the offers keep coming. :)

moaning about lack of games and was third choice anyway.

CAN MAWBOROUGH CLINCH PROMOTION?

Xp6RTV.jpg

It has been going great so far this season and we are very much in with a good
chance of an automatic promotion spot, failing that we are looking a very good

bet for a play-off place but of course anything could happen so we need to keep
things going, the only low point was the result against Chesterfield, not sure what
went wrong there as Ched Evans netted a brace as we were thumped.

CAN WE CLINCH AUTOMATIC PROMOTION?

kB8lew.jpg

Looking good with four games to go, Portsmouth have a game in hand against Wigan.
We both have a game before Portsmouth play that Wigan game, not a bad position for us though
considering we recently lost 2-0 at home to Portsmouth that put them 7pts ahead of us at the time.

Why is Zac Harper out on loan? Too much depth in his position?

Well tbh looking at things now he probably could/should be in our starting line-up but at the time others were ahead of him and he was unhappy about not playing so I let him go out to get some games, anyway after following his progress I have already decided he will be getting games next season.

Was glad to see you rejecting offers for your 16 year old, if hes good enough to play i would play him, if he puts in performances then you may even get higher offers.

Yeah even though a lot of our social media feeds were comments about we should just let him go, fans not rating him blah blah blah, I was not interested in doing a deal, for starters those deals were with a lot of add-ons and I want to see how he will develope with us, he has been getting game time from the bench, scored 1 goal and has a average rating of 7.13 in the league.

If those deals had been with most of the money coming upfront it might have been a harder decision though.

That was a very nice goal, well done kyle, actually seeing that goal has made me want to load up FMT now for a quick game :D

Yeah I just guess some silly fans are hard to please, anyway some of the social media is good but some of it is utter rubbish.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

I'm a bit behind in my updating as I am now nearing the end of my 3rd season.

Just set a new record for the club.............................................AjCZ0C.jpg ........................ not a good record though. :(

It will probably increase yet as well.

In terms of updating, after I get the previous season posted I will change to just posting at the end of each season a bit like dafuge does, with maybe a few snippets of stuff inbetween.

So it was a great season as we gained an unexpected promotion.
My player of the season was Kyle Dempsey and at 250k he proved

to be a fantastic piece of business, I was a bit surprised the fans voted
for Luke Diaz but it seems like some have a problem with Dempsey
judging by some of the social media comments. though Diaz was also
great through the season so it was always likely to be close in the votes.

LMFAO, if it was him at the club I can't see that I would be his boss but I could see our squad getting smaller if players don't perform. :D

Anyway the season is already done and I will get it posted shortly.

Also it is a rather different Nathan Jones (the current Luton Town Manager) who is my assistant, so less scary for me to go into work. ;)

Transfer News

7gjTZN.jpg

We lost our captain Lundstram during the season, it was a shame
to lose him but it was a good deal for the club, Dempsey was made captain.

Also after all the offers for Danny Smith I decided to accept an offer from Southampton.
(as of September 2019 and he has only played 4 cup ties for them)

We had another big offer for a youth player from Liverpool, I decided to cash in.
(as of September 2019 and he has only played 2 cup ties for them)

Two players left at the end of the season, Archer had been making noises all season about needing
to move to a bigger club, so I already had this in mind when I signed Keranovic earlier in the season.

Dempsey was a big blow, even though I can understand his need to move I really wanted/hoped
I could have had him at the club for a season or two more.

This season was very tough, too tough as we slipped to relegation and back to League One.
My player of the season was Kyle Dempsey and this time the fans agreed but sadly we have now lost him.
