  1. Hello, and welcome to my save! This is my first try at doing something like this, so bear with me, I'm sure I will make a lot of mistakes the first times I post pictures and stuff like that . Also, Sorry for any mistakes. English is not my native language. I hope everyone who reads this will find it interesting. And with a bit of luck, it will be fun as well! My goal for this save is to take Unia Wapno, a team currently playing in the seventh tier of Polish football, to glory. First of all I'll try to climb the Polish football ladder, then we'll see where that takes us. The database can be found here: Poland 7th Tier. Unia Wapno After spending an hour looking through all of the groups in the seventh tier of Polish football (hundreds of teams) I decided on Unia Wapno. I have never managed in Poland before, so this will be exciting. The reason I chose Unia Wapno was because of the kit, the name (It's easy to spell, some of these Polish name are a real tongue twister), and that they have a okay stadium. All the facilities in the lower leagues are really bad, so that had nothing to say. Only one way to go, and that is up! Well then, say hello to Dølle Døkk, my manager in this save. I'm Norwegian, and I usually use a randomizer to get my second nationality, and I have to say, this time I got a good mix! I start this save with just the basics, and need to improve along with the team. Current Squad This is how the squad is looking at the moment. I'm sure there will be a lot of changes over the next few weeks before the league starts, but I will go over the final squad in the next update. Key players at the moment That is all for now, feel free to give me suggestions to what will make this a more interesting read!
  2. After getting sacked in my Hull save, I have decided to do my first ever no transfers save where I am forced to rely on my youth academy. The team I will manage in this save is, five time FA Cup winners, Wanderers F.C. the first ever winners of the FA Cup and the first team to win it three times in a row. They currently play in the 14th tier of English football. I have already completed my first season. In the first season I won promotion to the 13th tier via winning the league and won both cups we were entered in. I used the editor to make Wanderers F.C. a Professional club with the best possible training and all the youth facilities. Everything else I left untouched. Edit: After 18 years of constant mid-table finishes can the ability to make transfer help us rise up the Prem?
  3. The Sardinian Fortress This save isn't that special, the usual youth-only challenge, only this time done with Eccellenza Sardegna side Latte Dolce, also known as Sassari Calcio. The main objective will be to create somewhat of a dynasty with the team and reach the top flight of Italian football, whilst also trying to bring as many other Sardinian teams with me on the way. Sardinia is one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean sea, second only to Sicily. This Italian island is located to the immediate south of the Corsica, and is divided into four provinces whilst being home to one metropolitan city. Its capital is Cagliari, which also happens to be the home of the only Sardinian club to have ever played in the Italian top flight. The second largest city on the island is Sassari, which boasts a population of over 127,000 inhabitants, in an urban area of around twice this size. Historically, its economy has relied mainly on industries such as tourism and services. All of this hardly matters to us, as what truly matters is information regarding the club which we will be following in this career update. U. S. D. Latte Dolce Unione Sportiva Dilettantistica Latte Dolce (which ironically translates to 'sweet milk') is an amateur Italian club founded in 1973, which has spent the vast majority of its history in Eccellenza, the Italian fifth division, with a brief spell in Serie D in 2013-14. Currently, their squad is considered to be the strongest amongst their Eccellenza group, and will fight for promotion whilst aiming to improve its facilities and generate strong youth intakes for the future. Their manager will be former high school goalkeeper-turned-coach, the Ethiopian-American Legend Tesfaye. And as you can tell, those aren't the best facilities. Poor training facilities, basic youth and corporate facilities, and minimal junior coaching combined with limited recruitment; we're rock-bottom, and we'll have to work on getting those facilities up as soon as possible. As for the squad itself, the assistant manager rates our starting eleven very highly, stating that all of them would be decent players if they were to be in Serie D sides, even mentioning that some of my key players (such as Andrea Usai and Omar Delizos) would be good players in Serie D, despite them really not being that good. I think the real struggle this season will be to keep our players, as although there is definitely talent in this team, none of them are actually earning anything for now. I'm personally just very excited for this, and can't wait to see how we end up doing this season. I'll see you in the next update!

[FM18] Bringing Oss To The Top!

INTRO: Hello friends! I have been roaming the career forums for a while now and decided that i would like to have a go at starting one myself. So here it is. I picked FC Oss as the team that i want to take to the top of the Dutch football. The reason for picking them is that they have a nice small stadium which i always prefer when i pick a club. I also dont remember them playing in the Dutch Eredivisie so they have it all to win. Another good reason is the province witch they are from (North Brabant) Is absolutley filled up with professional teams and i consider them the least well known club there. It is time for them to rise! Player Rules and Goals I can only sing player with the Dutch nationality in this save (First or Second doesn't matter) I am not allowed to extend the contract of any foreigners in my squad As far as goals i set for myself i would like to be te best team in North Brabant wich means i have to outperform the following teams: FC Eindhoven Helmond Sport RKC Waalwijk FC Den Bosch Willem II NAC Breda And ofcourse PSV Eindhoven If i can overtake PSV i will be among the top teams of Holland ofcourse so will see what happens then Database As this will be a one club save, i decided to only load the Dutch Leagues and players from top teams in Europe. Bringing the total database to about 25k players
  5. Since my last save with LASK Linz crashed and burnt, here is my new save. I have always wanted to do this, so might as well try it! It's the standard club and country Liechtenstein challenge. For those who don't know, Liechtenstein is a tiny country sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria. Liechtenstein has a population of 37,340 and is one of the worlds smallest countries. I will be managing the mighty USV Eschen/Mauren who play in the 1. Liga which is the Swiss fourth tier as well as taking charge of the national team. First, onto the club team. USV Eschen/Mauren Eschen/Mauren represent the villages of Eschen and Mauren, who between them have a population of around 8500 and play in the 2000 capacity Sportpark Eschen/Mauren. My plan is to bring these guys to European glory. How am I going to do it? More on that later! Liechtenstein I will also be managing the national team, who play at the national stadium in Vaduz: My goal with them, will be of course glory on the European and World stage. It will be very hard of course, but who knows how it will turn out. I rarely manage national teams so unsure about how I will manage this to be honest. But how? And more importantly why? First onto the how. I will be playing this, as I do most of my saves, as a homegrown save. That means I will be pumping as much money as I can into the youth system in order to improve the quality of youth players available to me. All players must be from Liechtenstein other than the ones already there, who will be phased out over time. I have a large database, so will have as many players as possible to call upon. The better the youth academies across the whole of Liechtenstein are, the better the quality of the national team, so everyone wins. I will be keeping tabs on all other Liechtenstein teams, and will update you as and when. My first focus will be on improving facilities at Eschen-Mauren and hoping to be competitive with the national team. Current standings Here is where the Liechtenstein teams stand at the start of the game: Liechtenstein 149th Vaduz Swiss Super League + Europa League USV Eschen/Mauren Swiss 1. Liga group 3 FC Balzers Swiss 1. Liga group 3 FC Triesenberg Swiss 2. Liga interregio group 3 FC Triesen Swiss 2. Liga interregio group 3 FC Ruggell Swiss 2. Liga interregio group 6 FC Schaan Swiss 2. Liga interregio group 6 Any other business Firstly, the database. I have made a few amendments. I have added the Swiss 3rd/4th/5th tiers and added the 4 remaining Liechtensteiner clubs to the 5th tier (to allow them proper fixtures) as Balzers and Eschen/Mauren were already in the fourth tier. Allied to this, as with my previous save I have added a few little bits to test a few things. Tajikistan have a youth rating of 200 plus Prambachkirchen in the Austrian 7/8th tier have been given a sugar daddy as I've always wanted to know how that effects the game. Anything happens and I will let you know. In my previous save, I gave myself a second nationality to test this but haven't for this one as I want as many Liechtensteiners as possible to come through the youth ranks (my nationality is English on the game as in real life). I think that is all for now. Hopp Liachtaschta!!!

    [FM17] - The Real Deal

So, time for another career and a one club one at that. I am going to Portugal this time and have chosen Real Sport Clube (Massamá), in the third tier, as my club of choice. Game Type - One club. I will be at Real until I am tired of the save or get fired. Reputation - Semi professional. Recommended by the game. Starting Qualifications - Continental B. Recommended by the game. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database added. No extra leagues being used. Leagues Loaded Portugal, down to the third tier. Database Size - Huge. I have also added all players from the lower Portuguese leagues. Updates - I only intend to update at the end of each season, together with the youth candidates day. Youth - I love to develop players, so any player I feel has a chance to make the first team will be tagged. YP17a1 for example, would mean Youth Player from 2017. The "a" means he is the best prospect from that intake and the "1" means he is the first youth prospect I have produced in my career. Records - I am a bit of a statto, so will be keeping detailed records during this save which you can see in the next few posts.
  7. So after the bug I found made my Andorran save dead and my East Kilbride save ending abruptly, I am starting again, in the lowest Scottish league available where promotion is eventually possible to the top flight. I am using the league created by @Morrissey. You can find the file here. Game Type - One club, youth only. I will be at Scottish club Tynecastle FC until I either retire, get sacked, or give up! I cannot sign anyone and must rely fully on our youth academy. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database. The Scottish league database as stated above. Leagues Loaded Scotland. Number of Nations Loaded - One. Number of Leagues Loaded - Ten. Number of Players Loaded - 15,660. I have loaded all players from the Scottish leagues, including those in the lower leagues, as well as all players of Scottish nationality. Database Size - Huge. Game Start Date - 29 May 2017. Updates - I only intend to update at the end of each season, together with the youth candidates day. Youth - As this is a youth only save, I will tag all who are rated to have 3 stars potential and above. YP18A1 for example, would mean Youth Player from 2018. The "A" means he is the best prospect from that intake and the "1" means he is the first youth prospect I have produced in my career. Records - If you have ever read one of my threads, you will know I am a bit of a statto, so will be keeping detailed records during this save which you can see in the next few posts.
  8. A Fábrica - Unha Historia Celta Vigo Good evening and welcome to my thread! The title is in galician (atleast should be) and means The factory - a Celta Vigo story. The first title was ****. I wanted something new. Couldn't come up with something. New title is result of that. The very first thread I post here on the forum, although I’ve been an active member of Danish FM forums for several years now. I’ve lost the spark, that once engulfed FM though. The need to play FM all the time, and the pleasure it gave me was lost 2 years ago. It has come back somewhat, however, and now I am ready to launch a new thread finally! I have decided to visit the Galic coast of beautiful Vico. The city Vico has more to offer though as it is the home of Real Club Celta de Vigo or more commonly Celta Vigo. Wanting to challenge myself and finding an interesting team I searched La Liga and found 3 candidates for my adventure. Neither of the 3 are groundbreaking overwhelmingly challenging clubs though; all have decent economy and fine facilities and squads that contain promising young talent. And talents are exactly what I want. I imagine it’s what almost all (FM)managers want. The promise of a young man developing through the ranks to become a starter for the team. Later on earning the captaincy of the club that he supported when he was a little boy, dreaming of stepping onto the pitch in front of thousands upon thousands. Feeling the cheers and roars of the crowd as he scored. The 3 candidates was; Valencia CF (who I have a soft spot for), Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo (obviously). I ended up choosing Celta because of their talents in the first team and several promising youngsters in both the affiliate club Celta B and the u19s. We enter the save in the second season of my campaign with Celta, but more on that later. First I have set some rules for the save. Some premises that must be met. The first is; I must ONLY buy Spanish players. Spain has immense amount of talented players, so no, this is not making it the most challenging save ever. And it’s not very innovative either, but for my first thread in a long time I wanted to go with something that felt good and maybe a bit safe aswell. The second is; I may only make 1 signing worth more than £10M (max. £15M) - and this is only if we have sold a player for more than £25M in the same transfer window. This is both to secure a financial balance but also to hinder me from just buying all the best talents and splashing cash left and right to assemble the squad. I want to buy young Spanish talent but primarily I want to develop our own stars. Our academy needs to become the best and most feared in all of Spain. Doing this demands work however. We won’t get there without the right investments and getting the right personnel in. The investments aren’t really up to me though. I can ask the board and make sure our finances are ready but ultimately my most important task will be to find capable coaches who can make my talents grow, and hire a solid HoYD who can spot the gems running around the Galic streets. By 2023, the year Celta Vigo has existed for 100 years, I expect us to be a machine. A well oiled machine running on the fumes of schooled players coming through our own ranks. That was the introduction and tomorrow I will let you inside the game itself and show you, what has happened in the first 3 transfer windows and how La Liga went down in 15/16. I’ll reveal we ended up with 74 points and a goal difference of +29. Welcome to the Olive city where the sky is blue and Celta Vigo is all that really matters!
  9. Rosenborg Ballklubb - 2018/2019 Squad/Tactics | Youth Squad | Season Preview | Board Expectations Say hello to Mr. Anon Manager which was hired as Rosenborg BK manager at the start of the 2016/2017 season! (I wasn't planning on making this post so I used my real name and details as the manager. For this thread I will refer to the manager as "Anon Manager" instead as I don't want to use my real name.) The reason for picking Rosenborg is two-fold; 1) it's my local team 2) I wanted an "easy but still interesting" team, to ease me back into FM which I haven't played since FM14. For those unaware, Rosenborg BK is the most dominant force in Norwegian football. From roughly 1985 to 2000 they absolutely dominated all of Norwegian football. In the last 10-15 years they have been struggling but now for the past two seasons they are (maybe) back to their old dominant ways. Shockingly however, this manager who's finally returned RBK back to their old ways was unceremoniously sacked and replaced by me! The first two years were quite successful but ultimately not that interesting so for this thread I've "skipped forward" to the third season when things are really starting to take shape. I'll make a separate post (coming soon!) which summarize the first two seasons. Long-term Goals: I've promised the board to play attacking attractive football, to rely heavily on young players and to develop our own players through the academy. Long-term I wish to win the Champions League. Additionally to raise the rating of Rosenborg BK - as well as Norway and the Norwegian Tippeliga. Over the past couple of seasons I've worked with the board and took every opportunity to cajole them into upgrading our facilities - especially things related to youth development! We now have fantastic facilities (at the start of season 3 the board agreed to upgrade youth facilities even further but it's not completed yet)! I won't push the board to increase the stadium as Trondheim is a small city and I intend to balance the books by playing Champions League and selling players. I'm playing primarily to have fun so I'm not going to restrict myself to signing only Norwegian players or using only academy players. I will however try to sign mainly young players though occasionally I might sign experienced players. I will not min-max or exploit the game as I don't find it fun. I'm a bit of a role-player at heart so I want my manager to be a reasonable and respected guy. I'll give talented players their "big break" when truly special clubs come knocking - if the price is right. Season 3 Goals: At the start of season 3 the board is expecting us to win the league (as always). I also want to get out of the group stages of the Champions League and win the Norwegian Cup. At this point my team is so far superior to any other Norwegian team that I would not accept anything but winning the league. Molde BK has made some great signings this season but they have nowhere near my depth. Highlighted Players: John Hou Sæter (19yo, MC): I love this guy. Such incredibly well-rounded stats! He can play just about every role possible in the MC position. He still has one full star of potential left so I hope to get a couple more stats to 16 or maybe even 17. 18 Determination too! Abel Casquete (20yo, AMC): The only real downside to Abel is his low Natural Fitness but apart from that he ticks all the boxes. He's "only" a 3,5* CA but he has 5* PA so I really do have the highest of hopes for him. I just hope I can keep him at the club for as long as possible! I think the big European clubs will come for this guy in 1-2 years... Marius Lundemo (23yo MC/AMC): The captain of my team is simply a rock-solid and dependable midfielder. He's getting very close to fulfilling his 4* PA as well which is a credit to my scouts yet again. This guy is such a classic all-round midfielder but I would be extremely pleased if he could push one or two more stats to 16! Top Prospects: Jorge Almirón (18yo, AMR): I have some real faith in this Brazilian regen I signed. He's got a couple of 14s in key stats plus 16 Acceleration and Aggression. Pace and Stamina is also great. He does have some real weak stats but at 5* PA I have faith he will fill out his stats quickly... Erling Håland (17yo, ST): I won't go as far as saying this guy will become better than Messi but I suspect he might beat out Carew, Solskjær and Flo as the greatest Norwegian striker of all time. His Mental stats are absurdly good for his age! I would love if he could get some more acc/pace, passing, technique and positioning. Next season I will play him in the senior squad but this season he will get one more year loaned out. Transfers (In - Out): Nicolai Næss (25yo, DC): I quickly (get it?) realized that acc/pace was an issue for my entire squad but especially for my defence. Næss should help the situation; he's a relatively quick and well rounded ball-playing defender which slots right into my attacking style of play. Important too is that fact that he counts as home-grown. The Norwegian league required SIXTEEN out of 25 registered players to be home-grown (in country) which can be frustrating at times. Everton (23 yo DR): No, I didn't sign the entire Everton team but rather a regen in Brazil called Everton! He has 3* CA and 3,5* PA but I really like his well-rounded physicals (hopefully Stamina will improve a little) as well as other important stats being high. Maybe I overpaid a little but I had no real promising DR in my youth system and my main squad was real weak in that position. Raffaele Di Gennaro (24yo, GK): My scouts were loving this guy as soon as they laid their eyes on him and I can see why! At £625K with 3,5* CA and 4* PA, I pulled the trigger because my current first choice GK is getting a little bit old and he's only a 3* CA/PA. His first touch and passing worries me slightly but I love his all-round great stats plus his 17 Determination. Nothing too exciting happening with transfers out - which is a good thing because many clubs were desperate to sign both Lundemo and Hou Sæter. I want to keep both these guys at least one more season. I did let my 27yo DL Skjelvik go (his main draw was 17 acc and pace). I also let Williams (young Welsh DR) go because he hadn't developed quiet how I would have liked. Lastly I sold my 31yo backup GK to make way for Di Gennaro.

    [FM17] The Rise of Brondby

If you're part of the FM Slack community you've probably seen that I've been a bit annoying recently (or at least I feel that I have) as I've been in a bit of "management limbo". No matter how many different saves I loaded, no matter what leagues I picked, I could not get stuck in to a save. Many of you guys reading this probably know that feeling all too well right? It's almost as if you're under an "FM Curse". Arsene Wenger knows of the struggle to find an FM save that sticks Then it hit me - the reason I can't get stuck in to a new save is because of the way I left the Brondby save - unfinished, unfulfilled, a huge amount of unfulfilled potential in what could have been an epic journey to European glory. In fact, the whole thing barely got off the ground after the first couple of posts. After talking to some fellow FMers, I felt that it was only right that I go back to Denmark. I reread my post "Identity, Ethos and Philosophy" and it really hit me why I wanted to play as Brondby in the first place. It ties in with everything that I try to do on FM - run a sustainable, reputable football club, echoing the great sides of yesteryear. Bringing through the cream of the crop in Denmark and mixing them with the best talent worldwide. And finally, to tell a story of the rise of a football club to global dominance. That's why we post and stream our FM saves, isn't it? Let's go back to the beginning... The FM fire is burning again... I hit New Career Game, loaded up the leagues, and got cracking... Just the one month's worth of in game play time right now to ease myself back in to blogging and playing the game again, and I'm absolutely loving it. It's been a decent start, with the main achievement being progressing in to the Europa League third round qualifiers. We love scoring only two goals against teams, which makes me a little uneasy. However the squad are still learning my tactic, which I'll detail in future blogs. I'm now using the 17.3.0 update so the squad is a little different from before. However, the core of the side is still the same. If we're to do well this year, we'll be looking to on loan midfielder Hany Mukhtar for inspiration. He's on loan from Benfica for one season, and I'd love to keep him at the club permanently. Benedikt Rocker will have to be the rock at the back, whilst striker Teemu Pukki will once again lead the line. The future of Brondby - 16 year old Karl Appelt is one to watch A major focus of this year is going to be blooding the youngsters currently in the first team squad. I mentioned Karl Appelt as the main youth prospect in my first attempt, and he's still the pick of the bunch at just 16 years old. He's not the only one now though, as centre back Joel Kabongo, attacking midfielder Rezan Corlu and striker Gustaf Nilsson will all feature this season. By opting to do this, I've also really cut back on my transfers so as to ensure they actually do get some playing time. We've only made two signings this summer - defensive midfielder Mavin Schulz joins us on loan from Monchengladbach for this season, whilst Argentine Emmanuel Ledesma gives us more options on the flanks. The aims for this season is to give the Superliga a good go. I'm not expecting us to win it as Copenhagen are very strong, but you never know what could happen. However opting to play the youngsters may cost us slightly, but I'm prepared to take the "hit" now for long term success. We're all set up again now, and I'm stupidly excited to start playing this save again. Let's just hope the FM Curse has been lifted. To keep up to date when the next post goes live, follow me on Twitter (@registafm) and also my blog for other posts related to FM!
  11. So far in FM18, I have managed in Sweden, Iceland, England, Scotland, Wales & Andorra. My Scottish youth only save is on hold but I may well return to it. Ditto my Swedish one. I was fired after just eight games in Wales, putting a rather premature end to that game. The most fun I have had has been in Andorra, despite the contract bug for newly part time clubs. So I am going back there, with a different club this time. Game Type - One club. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database. Andorran league database. Leagues Loaded Andorra. Number of Nations Loaded - One. Number of Leagues Loaded - Two. Number of Players Loaded - 11,660. I have loaded all players from the Andorra leagues, including those in the lower leagues, as well as all players of Andorran nationality. Database Size - Huge. Game Start Date - 5 June 2017. Updates - I only intend to update at the end of each season, together with the youth candidates day. Youth - I will tag all who are rated to have 3 stars potential and above.

  13. Following my unsuccessful attempts to have a save in the Faroe Islands with fan made databases, I am trying again and will this time use an SI created league, this time I am going to Sweden and will start in the fourth division, with IS Halmia. Game Type - One club. I will be at IS Halmia until I am tired of the save or get fired. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database added. Leagues Loaded Sweden, down to the fourth tier. Database Size - Huge.
  14. Knattspyrnufélag Rangæinga We start our journey in the fifth tier of the icelandic league system, the 4. Deild Karla Group B. As an amateur club, and with no resources whatsoever I will never buy players, just use whatever the youth intakes give me. And we will see how far we will go! This is pretty good for a team in this league. The Manager Warg Wargolini is a total newbie in the football world, he has never watched a single game of football. What made him want to manage Knattspyrnufélag Rangæinga? We have no idea... The Squad This is our team for this season, and it's, okay, I guess. No depth whatsoever, but we have to live with that until we get our first youth players. This is also our best starting eleven in my opinion. "Star" players And for some reason, the earliest possible starting date in the game was 13th March, and the League Cup had already started, so these four games was already played. I will be doing three to four updates per season, and if something special happens. EDIT This is the file I used for this save. https://community.sigames.com/topic/415725-fm18-released-full-icelandic-pyramid-5-tiers/
  15. Following my unsuccessful attempt, due to database errors, in the Faroe Islands with Miðvágs Bóltfelag & save issues with Giza/Hoyvík (not database related) I am trying again and will this time use the database by Claassen, who usually produces stable games. Just the two tiers this time though, so will be managing a different club. Game Type - One club. I will be at 07 Vestur until I am tired of the save or get fired. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database added. The Faroe Islands database added, by Claassen. Leagues Loaded The Faroe Islands, down to the second tier. Database Size - Huge. 16. So, after my last save with Ta´Xbiex disappeared when my computer crashed, I had to start a new long term save. This time I'll try to take Kautokeino IL to the top of the norwegian league (and the world?), only using youth products. I will try to do four to five updates each season. Kautokeino IL play in the 5th tier of Norwegian football, in the 4. Divisjon avd 24 (4. Division, group 24). I chose Kautokeino as they are the one of the most northern clubs in Norway, and one of the worst in this group. I actually used to play at this level myself when I played football. Anyway, here is the club and the manager. Say hello to Warg Zala. Some random dude that showed up one day and wanted to be the new manager of Kautokeino. And to everyones surprise that's what he became. (As always my manager is from two "weird" nations) I felt kinda sad when I saw how long the manager before me had been in charge. Oh well, times change I guess!

  19. I have struggled to get into my last few saves as I have had a lot of success, very quickly. It doesn't really feel like I have earned anything as I kept on winning, so am going to give myself a real challenge. I see quite a few San Marino saves, but I am going for the The Faroe Islands. I have downloaded the file from the Steam Workshop and will start in the third tier with Miðvágs Bóltfelag, MB for short, who are an amateur club. Game Type - One club. I will be at MB until I am tired of the save or get fired. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database added. No extra leagues being used. Leagues Loaded The Faroe Islands, down to the third tier. Database Size - Huge. Ok truth be told I have no idea how this is going to pan out but here we go. The idea and premise is simple. Win a game steal a player. Lose a game lose a player. Every game I play will have 3 outcomes... Win and I can steal a player from the team I've just beaten. Lose and they get a player from me. Draw and nothing happens, everybody just moves on like nothing happened. All players from the club will be listed alphabetical and I will use a random number generator to select which player will move. Using the in-game editor I will then move the player to the club changing nothing else, so the wages will stay the same as well as the contract. Basically it means that if I beat Chelsea I could end up with Eden Hazard, or some random unprofessional regen. I have no challenges whatsoever other than to enjoy and just see what happens. The biggest problem here will be wage budget. Obviously as I get more and more players my wage budget will get higher and higher. Transfer windows are going to be very interesting. I can't purchase any player although if need be I can get free agents but that's only as a last resort ie I've lost 20 games in a row and no longer have players! If anybody has anything they would like to add I would love to hear it and see if this save can evolve with as many user inputs as possible! So enough about the boring rules. I will be starting this save with Parkgate FC. Reason why is because I live a stones throw away from the ground. Predicted to finish 14th in the Northern Counties First Divison (In real life at the moment they are 2nd bottom only ahead of Clipstone (the village I'm originally from!)). It will be up to new manager Smoochie Boochies to try and take Parkgate FC to the very top. No badges no experience. Don't know why but he's from the Island of Kiribati with English as his second nationality. Coming up will be the Squads and Friendlies. I won't be taking charge of the friendlies but I will be arranging them...I have a cunning plan.
  21. Hello and welcome to my career as manager of my favourite club, Sheffield Wednesday. This is my 4th career so far with FM18, having experimented at different levels to try and get a good grip on the game, and I now feel ready to attempt a long-term career. I won't be playing with any imposed rules, or looking for any overall achievement, merely doing what most folks do with FM, and that is try and take their favourite club as far as they can. I feel this is a good time to take over at Sheff Wed without it being too immersion breaking - in reality, we have had 2 failed playoff campaigns and it could easily be believed that a change was made and someone new brought in in an attempt to freshen things up and take Wednesday over that last line. My profile is set up using the recommended levels of coaching qualifications and experience to avoid any potential early-game problems with the new dynamics system. I was reluctant to do this, but as I am looking at a one-club career, I felt it was necessary to minimise the risk of getting the boot because the players decide that a random guy off the street with no experience in the game is now telling them what to do! In terms of updates, I'll probably go for a tri-annual update, with updates pencilled for Pre-Season, Christmas and End of Season. Any notable events such as finals or major matches may receive singular updates. It probably won't be a ground breaking, original, or even that interesting of a career read, but I'm going to track my progress here for personal reasons - a sort of diary of my career. If it transpires that people enjoy following and reading, then excellent! If not, I'm sure there are plenty of other career updates here that will pique your interest, and I shall beg your understanding in my own personal indulgence Sheffield Wednesday Football Club ************************************************************************************** Wednesday are one of the oldest professional clubs in England, predated by only 3 other professional outfits - Notts County (1862), Stoke City (1863) and Notts Forest (1865). Founded in 1867, the club are currently celebrating their 150th anniversary, and promotion to the Premier League this season would be all the more sweet for it. There is some history in the game, with top division finishes in the early 1900s. More recently, we won the League cup in 1991, beating Man Utd in the final. The club play at Hillsborough, a ~39,000 capacity stadium owned by the club. In real life, it is in need of some modernisation, but in terms of capacity, it is a good ground. The training and youth facilities are below what I would like, and I shall be looking to get these upgraded when possible. We start with a good squad, definitely one that should be pushing for promotion, albeit through the playoffs rather than the automatic spots. With that in mind, a top 6 finish has to be the target for the season, with a top 2 finish providing we have a bit of luck along the way. However, at the start of the game there are injuries to several key players, notably Fernando Forestieri (out for 7/8 months), Keiran Lee (our for around 2 months), and captain Glenn Loovens (out for 2/3 months). We also have some decent prospects in the youth setups, with players such as George Hirst, Cameron Dawson, Joe Wildsmith, Eyad Hammoud, Connor Kirby and Jack Lee having a decent amount of potential. I shall be looking to offload some players, with Atdhe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao being amongst the first I will be looking to get rid off. Steven Fletcher may also be moved on - Rhodes and Hooper, with prospects such as Hirst and Hammoud waiting in the wings, and Sam Winnall out on loan, should be more than enough. I also plan on operating a lone striker set up, and rotating between Rhodes, Hooper and Fletcher wouldn't allow any one player to settle and hit a run of form. The seasonal expectations are very reasonable - a top half finish in the league, 4th round of the FA Cup and 3rd Round of the League Cup. All should be achievable, although the cups do depend on the draws and whether we luck out. As I said in the opening, I'm going to be aiming for a top 6 finish and promotion, either via the playoffs or automatic promotion. Financially we are ok, but not the best. There's little left in the budgets and some balancing may be required. In terms of squad dynamics, I already have the backing of two players - Jordan Rhodes and Joost Van Aken. Unsurprisingly, a number of players actively oppose me at the start, Westwood, Bannan, Hooper and Hunt being amongst the most influential players who are currently against me. Naturally, getting off to a good start and building positive relationships is critical. First Team Expectations Finances I've opted for a 4-2-3-1 system to start with, and the effectiveness will continually be assessed as the game progresses. The current first XI will look like this: Forestieri will slot into either the AP or left-sided IF role when he returns, and Kieran Lee will rotate with Barry Bannan in the DLP role in midfield. I'll be looking to evolve the tactic over time, depending on how results go for us. The next update will come at the midway point.
  22. My goal in this save is to dominate European football with UMF Selfoss using only Icelandic players. This was very much inspired by @BoxToBox's Martyr to the Cause, a fantastic, ongoing read that I highly recommend. Pre-Season 2018 Hinrik Albertsson will be the man for the job, an average man with far from average dreams, and whether or not he can make the magic happen will reveal itself in the future! UMF Selfoss has battled to stay in the top league in Iceland without success, and they have now settled into mediocrity in the second league. My main attraction to the club is the Argentinian-like away kit, hopefully the spirit of Messi will give us luck. Facilities are listed below. The staff is currently severely lacking, but hopefully we can pick up an assistant coach as a start pretty soon. I typically relegate staff signings to the Managing Director or Director of Football, but I'll most likely wait a season before I do that. The squad has a few more foreigners than I was hoping, but if they don't leave by transferring, their contracts will be running out. According to star ratings, here are my best Icelandic players.
