  2. Press Release "FC Energie Cottbus and kit supplier Macron, have teamed up to release a third shirt this season, inspired by the Sorbian influence on the city. Cottbus is the largest officially bilingual city in Germany, and the signage is mostly in German and Lower Sorbian. The city is the seat of several Lower Sorbian institutions like the Lower Sorbian version of the Sorbian Broadcasting (Serbski rozgłos/Bramborske Serbske Radijo), the Lower Sorbian Gymnasium, and the Wendish Museum (Serbski muzej). The use of the Lower Sorbian language, however, is more widespread in the surrounding villages than in the city itself. The badge itself is the city crest and the colour scheme and stylings a nod to the past. We hope that this tribute to our past as a city will help us move forward in the future.."
  3. It's a World Cup year and when the preliminary squads were picked, we had 9 players at the various training camps. The big surprise was Saidou getting an invite to the training camp. Both Brodwolf and Waack have been on the fringes for a while now, but that call up came from nowhere. Sadly, when the full squads were announced, those three were the ones to be cut. Let's see how the players and their countries got on. Lebanon - Out, Second Round Ali Farhat had a pretty miserable World Cup. He was sent off in the opening game against Belgium, which they lost 0-3 and missed the 1-0 win over Chile through the resulting suspension. He made his return in the World Cup Second Round clash with Argentina which ended up in a 0-4 thrashing and the end of their World Cup adventure. United States - Out, Third Round Oliver Lovett had a pretty decent World Cup. He took home the POTM award in the opening game, a 0-0 draw with Switzerland. He then started the next group game against Iran, where they triumphed 5-0. In the Second Round, it took extra time for the USA to dispatch Ecuador, winning 1-0, with Lovett starting this game as well. They then took on Germany in the Third Round with Lovett inexplicably on the bench, where he didn't step on the field as they lost 0-1. Germany - Out, Quarter-Final Kristoffer Kraeft and Markus Kallnik were part of a disappointing World Cup for the Germans. Both started a 1-1 draw with Australia in the group stage, with Kallnik dropping to the bench for the 3-1 win over Costa Rica. Markus was a late sub in the 3-2 win over Turkey, with Kraeft unused. The Third Round saw them eliminate another teammate, with a 1-0 win over the USA, Kallnik starting and Kraeft unused. Finally, their campaign came to a shuddering halt with an Quarter-Final extra-time 1-3 loss to England where both players started the game. Romania - Out, group stage Marius Tomas was another who had a pretty miserable World Cup. He played every minute of the group stages as they struggled to a 1-1 draw with Colombia and then stunningly lost 0-2 to the U.A.E Türkiye - Out, Second Round Okay Cakir had the best statistical campaign. He started in both group stage matches, a 0-2 loss to Brazil and a 3-0 win over Algeria, in which he assisted on the second goal. In the Second Round, they were knocked out 2-3 by Germany, where he racked up another assist
  4. Welcome to a new segment that'll be happening from now on. It's taken me this long to get the board to agree to a feeder club that are in a decent league, but finally we have one. SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 3.Liga. This will allow me to be able to send my best prospects off for meaningful football for a season. The season just gone, was the first time we had taken part in this venture and we sent out GK Gareth Davies, ST Adnan Muric, DR Eduard Dreher, DRC/DM Dionysis Galatas and MRL Oleg Bagaev. The club ended up finishing 7th in 3.Liga last season Gareth Davies - A good season for the young Welshman, as he played 3,330 minutes of first team football, even scoring a goal from a last minute corner. 11 clean sheets and two POM's speak to his successful spell there Dionysis Galatas - Playing as a central defender, Dion racked up 2,970 minutes of first team football for the club, scoring twice and assisting twice. His Avg Rating of 6.93 is also a decent marker of a good spell there. Oleg Bagaev - The young winger got off to a blazing hot start, but ended up fizzling out in his first competitive season as he appeared in just two of the club's last 12 games as he appeared for 1,932 minutes this season. His 5 goals and 6 assists all came in the first half of the season which will be worth watching if he is the kind of player that fades at the business end of a season. Eduard Dreher - A disappointing loan for Dreher as he only appeared for 335 minutes this season, spread over 11 games. Which makes his Avg Rating of 6.78, quite impressive Adnan Muric - A barnstorming loan for the young striker and exactly what this partnership was set up to do. Muric played 2,643 minutes of first team football, scoring an impressive 16 goals and getting 5 assists for an Avg Rating of 7.07. This has led me to give him a chance in the first team during the coming season.

The Stats Bundesliga Table Aug - Dec Results Jan - May Results DfB Pokal Results UEFA Europa League Results Player Stats Commerical Summary Data Hub The Eyetest The Boing-Boing Boys did it again. This time we were on the way up, with a strong campaign leading us to our highest ever finish. 6th in the Bundesliga. Marius Tomas once again led the way with 18 goals, however youth prospect Harald Saidou was second with 15 despite going off the boil for the second half of the season . We also had a poor DfB Pokal campaign, losing to fellow 1.Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, 1-0 in the Third. Our search for top flight domestic silverware goes on. We were agonisingly dumped out of our maiden UEFA Europa League adventure by Chelsea FC scoring the winning goal in the 93rd minute of the second leg of the Semi Final. Stats-wise, we finished 6th on Goals Scored and 11th on Goals Conceded, Improved by half up front, improved by just one in defence. The Misc Kristoffer Kraeft won the U-19 German POTY Award and Bruno Waack finished third

  8. Full backs! Come get yer full backs! Finally, we have some left back prospects! Let's took at the top 3 prospects from this Average intake DRL Ciaran O'Reilly - Work Rate: 16, Pace 14, Techinque 15 - DNA: Passed He can play both sides, but we were in desperate need of new blood, so he's very welcome DL Wim Egberts - Work Rate: 18, Pace 13, Techinque 14 - DNA: Passed He's here and he's beautiful. Finally a left back with potential! I'm so happy... MC/AMRC Alexander Jentzch - Work Rate: 11, Pace 8, Techinque 13 - DNA: FAILED The problem is he's failed a few areas of the DNA test, but I hold out hope that he can improve enough to threaten the first team

  10. Fantastic write up. Thank you so much. Clear and concise
  11. This is next season's lineup without moves. Let's look through to see when/where there are issues. GK - Demmig has overtaken Gosslar as our #1. Davies is our third choice and a long way from the other two DR - Kallnik is top and Ginter is easily backup. Dreher will be third choice DCR - Nothing changes thankfully DCL - Same here. DL - Turgeman is #1. Martin Bormann will provide competition for the first team spot and hopefully surpass him DMCR - Kraeft will be first choice as long as he is here. Luovadio second choice until he wants to leave. DMCL - Mohr has been superseded by Cakir as first choice in this position, but it means we've got an excellent backup ML - Derichs isn't ready for first team football, but he'll develop with Jarosch AMR - Waack is our first choice, but Wenzel could easily usurp his playing time next season AMC - Tomas is God. Simple. LGG's start to the season has cemented his backup slot, but Zorn is a very good third choice ST - Saidou shone last season, but has been less decent this season. Hopefully, Muric's season on loan at feeder club Furth will develop him enough to get game time.
  12. The Stats Bundesliga Table Results to date Full Stats Shooting Tackling Passing Possession Defending The Eye Test Well, the Gummijungen are at it again! We've settled in around midtable which is indeed an excellent thing after the horrors of last season. We're also doing well in Europe again, so I look forward to us doing what we can in order to keep our places amongst Europe's top clubs. We seem to be conceding a ton from set pieces however, so that is something I'll need to check with my Set Piece Coach. The Transfers OUT AMR/ST Laurin Frerking (£625k, possibly rising to £1.7m, DSC Arminia Bielefeld) Laurin was signed before we could offer him a contract. So the arbitration committee awarded us the above fee, along with add-ons
  13. THE TACTIC I’ve realised that I haven’t shown or explained the changes in my formation for FM24 from FM23. In essence, we have the same formation as below, but we’re taking advantage of using the new positions and player intelligence that the FM24 ME This is how we line up. For those new to the thread and cba looking back, it’s an normal GK, with the full-backs in as Inverted Full Backs. The RCB is a Central Defender on Defend and the LCB is a Libero on Support. Moving up to the DM’s, the left-hand DM is a Defensive Midfielder on Defend and the right hand DM is a Segundo Volante on Attack. The left midfielder is a Winger on Attack and the AMR position is an Advanced Playmaker on Support, as is the AMC, which is an Attacking Midfielder. Finally our striker’s role is an Advanced Forward. The plan is, when we are playing out from the back, the Libero advances past the Defensive midfielder who moves into the middle of the park. This allows us to have a late-arriving threat from the back and also to provide an outlet to recycle the ball to from the front. When the libero moves up in possession, it leaves a gap, which in the FM23 version of the tactic, meant the Half Back should drop into the hole. However, now, it means that both full backs move into the middle of the pitch and turn into a 3-at-the-back setup. The Defensive Midfielder sits in the DM position, but again, due to the new player intelligence, they move into the middle of the park, with the Segundo Volante pushing all the way up to where the Attacking Midfielder is. This, along with the left midfielder pushing up on an Attack duty means that we end up with the below formation in attack This gives us a lot of options in attack, as the left winger can cross in, the right side can cut in, and the middle is used for the through balls for the AF. A decent source of goals has been the AMC, who is at the heart of the action. Whilst the wide playmaker is considered to be the main outlet, the AMC is what we would consider the ‘Messi’ role at Barcelona, where he drives the attack. (He’s not nicknamed ‘The Carpathian Messi’ for nothing!) The real strength in this is that we try to drive all opposition play into the middle of the park where we’re strongest and this formation, even in attack, gives us stability and cover in transition from both defence and attack.

  17. Well. From NxGen to the Kopa Trophy. No club has had players in first and second place in the 20+ year history of the award!
  18. The Brief If records are any indicators, we'll do well in our sixth season in 1.Bundesliga, and the board brief this time was to Finish Mid-Table this season, despite our poor performance last season. In the DfB Pokal, the board want us to make the Quarter Finals. Finally, the board want us to make the Group Stage of the UEFA Europa League. Our budgets were £1.9m in the wages and £37.5m transfer budget. The Results Probably our best seasonal start in the Bundesliga. Just the 95th min equaliser hurting us against 10-man Fortuna Dusseldorf The Transfers IN DRL/WBL Markus Kallnik (£17.5m, Liverpool FC) DRC Nico Mooy (Free Transfer, 1.FC Heidenheim 1846) Can't argue with bringing him back. His loan spell was so successful, we ended up activating his optional clause. His experience at FC Bayern Munchen, Real Madrid and Liverpool will stand us in good stead. Mooy was brought back as a club legend and to retire here. Hopefully we can convince him to become a coach! OUT DM/MC Valentin Krauß (£850k, DSC Arminia Bielefeld)
