  2. I don't believe any form of update has ever gone out on a Friday before, in case something were to go wrong such as crashes/people being unable to load the game etc. Could be wrong though
  3. I think the battling for possession was a nice upgrade in FM23 with the chaos factor. Not sure if it's still present in FM24 or if I've just become used to it.
  4. Absolutely. Not even the preview either. The ''elite'', ''good'' talent list etc when you do get them. I usually prefer the players in the poor section quite often more than the good ones!
  5. Does not being able to delete it, not cause a lot of bloat? I really wish on specific scouting assignments you were able to delete or close off certain people if they don't interest you.

If anything I think the morale perhaps effects results too much, so suggestions that morale doesn't effect anything to me blows my mind When you hover over morale it tells you a variety of info, such as happiness with playing time etc. I remember when morale used to be very heavily linked in with a players form, however, (and I don't agree with this and think it needs re-working) you can have a player in poor form or a striker on a goalless streak... and still be ''very happy or delighted'' under morale as long as they are in a team that is doing ok/winning.
  7. How are people finding the balance of ''wonderkids''? 7/8 years in and I seem to be seeing a lot (too many for my liking), however I am managing at a higher level than I did for FM23.

  9. I've had great joy since the last update with negative, hoof ball football.
  10. I remember in previous version of the game, maybe 20-30% of retired players would fully retire. From my own experience on FM24 it seems only around 5% of my crop of retired players from the last 7 seasons actually fully retire (aka unclickable) and the vast majority of the rest have been poor, unemployed scouts, coaches, DoF's etc for the last 5-6 years. Does this not create bloat in the game?

  12. Even on seasons when I have used DMs on Support (not trying to exploit or know the above) I've done... welll below average. And everything has seemed as I'd expect on the pitch both from myself and an oppositions point of view. Pretty sure I've seen the opposition set up with two DM support duties and not noticed anything?
  13. Seeing tons of youth being used by the AI and rotated in and out nicely FWIW and I'm only in 2027. Really nice to see. Especially when you have the likes of Joel Ward etc still going (at Ipswich on mine) and offering an exp head for them too. Great mix across a variety of teams for me.
  14. I'm personally loving the ME, and I was a big critic of the high scorelines previously. Much improvement has been made and it is possible for the 0-0s and 1-0s. I think there's a huge variety in the play, the goals, the through balls etc, wide and central play.

  16. So managing Huddersfield, I've had a negative transfer budget (around 3.5m) for the third season in a row now. Can anyone help explain why? I don't have any instalments to pay as the red transfer debt shows we are actually owed 9.75m.
  17. FWIW I don't think distance covered is a good metric to use for pressing. It's a good metric for sheer running about aka distance covered, but there's a difference between that and pressing effectively. I'd like to think the only attributes that would majorly effect distance covered would be stamina, work rate and the tactical set up (which I'm presuming you did change but for whatever reasons, maybe faulty from the ME, hasn't had a major change) also let's remember the stats aren't that reliable that FM produces. Lastly, I guess it's always important to remember that a rating of 1 for an attribute is a 1 for a professional footballer. So still far beyond any of us mere mortals! If a player with 1 for passing and long shots when compared with a player with 20 for both was consistently performing on a par at the same standard... Sure an issue. If they are able and do occasionally do good passing or score worldies? Not an issue imo. I've even seen Andy Booth round a keeper one in real life and he was just a head on a stick!

I do have to say after the update the other week, I think this might be possibly my favourite ME of possibly any edition just for the sheer variety of goals and ways you can succeed and fail with a range of tactics, set ups and mentalities. Also feel the game is far superior in other fields such as AI transfers and player development compared to recent versions.
  19. On previous FM's I was always a bit disappointed by the lack of rotated sides when playing top teams in the cup as a lower team (for e.g 3rd round ties versus Man City etc). Just been drawn against them and about to play and they've rested as you'd expect a lot of key players. Really nice and refreshing, and increases my chances from 0.04% to about 0.12%

  21. I've had similar issues (I think, if you could share a screenshot that would be great). If so SI are keen for bug reports for this as it seems to be quite rare (I've only experienced it in 4 matches for certain time periods and weather conditions in a lot of saves and seasons, and not seen anyone else with the issue).
  22. Pre-patch the defending was incredibly passive. To me, it's had major improvements. Still passive in some instances sure, but it's a lot better.
  23. I've always wondered... Say if I were to load up a L12 English database, but only still play with the standard levels as ''active'' does this still impact on speed? (Obviously not as much as playing all 12 levels as active leagues, but compared to no db)
