  1. Just played the first game after the World Cup away to Man City. Drew 0-0 which leaves me 2 points behind them. World Cup was won by Croatia. I haven’t renewed the Ox and he has announced he is leaving. Neither have I renewed Keita who I am now getting offers for but he’s worth more to me currently than the money being offered. Potential midfield replacements I’d perhaps struggle to sign at the moment so I’m happy to wait till the end of the season. Have my eyes on Bellingham, Enzo Fernandez, Matheus Nunes and Unai Vencedor who looks like a nice Thiago replacement. I may still try and renew Keita later we will see. He’s been injury free and played well when needed.
  2. I tried to get Neil Critchley but he wasn’t having it. Only wanted to be Assistant Manager.
  3. What new coaches have people got in? I’m looking for someone with decent attacking attributes. Preferably not a ‘Park the bus’ type. Only one tempting me so far is Kevin Ball. Does anyone else insist on new staff being able to speak English. I’m not sure if it makes any difference in the game, ie it’s programmed into it, but to me it makes sense they should be able to communicate in our native language.
  4. I just discovered that too. Painful. Had to Google the 2 random coaches Hausler and Hantschke too. They are the guys behind our penalty shoot outs and that type of stuff. Part timers. Not sure what to do with them in the game right now.
  5. Started playing the BETA just so as to set up a couple of tactics, and do some scouting. In terms of midfielders definitely liking the look of Bellingham obviously. Caicedo also looking good as well as Nunes at Wolves though not sure how attainable he would be after one season. Susic at Salzburg looks like for the future too. I guess I fancy all those LFC have been linked to IRL. Phyically, Henderson and Fabinho still look pretty decent in the game, not exactly a reflection of their real life condition, where the currently look pretty knackered most of the time!
  6. I’m potentially quite wrong here and I certainly have nothing evidential to back up what I’m saying but just wanted to mention it anyway. Bearing in mind I can’t really back it up I’m quite happy to be told I’m wrong. 🙂 As a Liverpool fan, we’ve seen this season the deterioration of some of our midfielders. There’s probably other factors contributing to this around the team as a whole but that’s a different discussion. However, Jordan Henderson having stamina of 18 no longer seems realistic. Fabinho has pace and acceleration of 14. I presume he always had this but this seems too much. It may be he is that quick but if that is the case then I certainly think his agility should be lower than 14. He just doesn’t move very well, but makes up for this with the way he reads the game. Maybe they’re both just tired this season after last, who knows, but these stats don’t seem to be what the naked eye shows. Cheers.
  7. I haven’t tried this out myself but I think now Liverpool have Nunez it should be easier to use Harvey Elliott. Previously, like others, I haven’t always fancied him as a midfielder due to lack of physicals and similarly haven’t fancied him as an inside forward due to lack of pace. But now Liverpool have Nunez as a centre forward, the wide forwards don’t need to have that searing pace like they do when playing with Bobby coming deep. The wide forwards can be more wide playmaker types, looking for Nunez with through balls, crosses etc, and joining up with him. Obviously for now Mo is still in place but in future Harvey can potentially make that position his own.
  8. It’s way too early to be judging him, especially negatively. He’s in a new league, in a team somewhat struggling and changing formation from week to week. But the signs are already there of what he’s capable of once he and the team settle down. He already has 6 goals and I think in future he’ll get a LOT more.
  9. The Curry’s one you suggested is still out of stock. I’d like to stick to Curry’s really as I can get a decent discount. How about this one? Seems to have a decent, and new processor. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/acer-aspire-5-15.6-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-512-gb-ssd-grey-10239488.html cheers
  10. Unfortunately my MAC is 2013 so not compatible with the new game. So have to decide if I fork out for a new laptop just so I can play the game. Will be the first year in a long time I haven’t played if I don’t. Not sure I can live without it. Envy is already kicking in. Unsure how the wife will feel about me buying a laptop solely to play a game, whilst at the same time insisting the heating isn’t allowed on yet!
  11. There’s something wrong with the game if you can get so much money for an ageing Thiago and soon to be out of contract Keita.
  12. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/1488528 Am I right in thinking this looks good value? Has some good specs. thanks guys.
  13. I love this thread as you often wonder if you should still be playing the game. It’s a bit like a dirty secret that only your closest family know as you don’t want people to think your sad. I’m 50 now, played probably all of the last 15 years. Before that I played LMA manager on my PlayStation which was actually pretty decent as I recall. Sadly I have just downloaded the latest game to my Mac but it wouldn’t load due to the age of my Mac. So now I have to decide if I invest in a new laptop pretty much solely to play FM23 😀
  14. Yeah I get you. It’s tricky isn’t it. I guess many guys have the potential. It’s then as much about their personality as much as anything as to whether they ‘make it’. And of course what we do as managers (in game), to help them. I wonder (in game), what proportion of decent Potential players go on to fulfil that potential.
  15. However promising these players might seem now, and whatever hype there may be surrounding them, the reality is it’s unlikely any of them become LFC regulars. Of course one or two may do, or one or two may become part of the squad but history shows it’s really hard, and you have to be really really good to become a regular at a top team.
