Lost the very next game at Man City. 🤣 No unbeaten season for me.

Part way through season 2 I am absolutely running away with the league. 23 played, won 21 and drew 2. Just 8 goals conceded. Champions League has been a little tougher, though I should qualify. I have a ridiculous set of fixtures. PSG, Bayern, Porto, Benfica, Milan, Wolfsburg, Salzberg and Young Boys. Lost a couple of those early but have since turned it round. Had a Saudi offer for Mo this January but with the potential of an unbeaten PL season I am unwilling to let him go. He's not too happy and says he plans to leave on a free but this is 18 months away. Any offers at the end of this season I will accept. May sell Tsimikas who whines about anything and everything, and Josh Doig has been good when called upon. Darwin is doing my nut in. Last season he was prolific, but this season he is constantly offside. I think this was a trait I added to his game, to beat the offside trap, but its not working out. Jota plays more often than not and is top scorer this season. Marcos Leonardo became available for £15m so I have just signed him. Darwin is on thin ice!!!!!!

A few games into the second season, transfer window has just ended. Had silly offers for VVD and Salah, but refused them, have them both under contract and don't want to lose either yet. Matip and Thiago left at the end of their contracts and Gakpo went to Real Madrid. I didn't want to lose him but I refused an offer from Bayern, and he had a strop and handed in a transfer request and there was no going back after that. I signed Leopold Querfeld as Matips replacement. Has tonnes of potential in my game. I also signed the Scottish left back Josh Doig. I just like the idea of another Scottish left back to back up Robertson and he had a clause for £7.75m. If I had any offers for Tsimikas I would have let him go, but now I have both. Tried to send Doig out on loan but left it a bit late so he's not going to get much game time. I was probably happy at that point, potentially a bit short up front without Gakpo but wasn't sure who I fancied signing, instead allows me to make use of Doak and Bardghji. Newcastle then triggered Andre's release clause of £14.5m. I wasn't having that so also made a bid and he chose us. Lastly I then couldn't resist signing the American from Inter Miami, Benjamin Cremaschi, again triggering his release clause of £6.25m. He stays there on loan for another season. Midfield with these additions, plus Zubimendi and the existing midfielders seems set up for years! Now I just need Darwin to learn to time his runs better and stay onside!!!

Season one complete. Won the PL with 95 points, 1 point ahead of Man City, though I wrapped it up on the penultimate weekend, but then lost the final game. Also won the Europa League beating Roma in extra time. I went out of both domestic cups fairly early. A few stats below sorted by minutes played. All 5 forwards scored 15 plus goals each and Diaz got 15 assists too. Szoboszlai 11 goals and 10 assists. TAA's numbers are perhaps a little bit disappointing playing as an Inverted wing back, though when you see his 11 progressive passes per 90 minutes you realise he is still contributing. Thiago and Matip will now leave on a free. Zubimendi was add signed in January and Roony Bardghji joins too. I'm not actively looking to replace any of the front 5, so one of Barddhji or Doak will probably go out on loan. Transfer budget for season 2 is just £53m. I need to replace Matip. Don't really want to go down the route of blowing my whole budget on Silva, Scalvini etc as I don't really see them playing much ahead of VVD, Konate and Gomez. Might just go for a cheaper option. 20 year old Leopold Querfeld has loads of potential and can be signed for £13m so might go down that route and then see what happens with VVD further down the line. Andre at Fluminese has signed a new contract with them and has a new release clause of just £14.5m so that's tempting too. Curtis Jones has been really good and played lots but now wants a new contract to reflect that. He's asking for £160k a week and that's not happening but I don't want to lose him so I'll see how that plays out.

With 10 days left of the January transfer window the board have given me a £75m budget. 😀

Having turned off transfers for the first window I’ve noticed even now as January begins and the transfer window opens, my transfer budget is zero. Why is this? Just me??

I'm also in December, second in the league just behind Man City, 10 points clear of third place. Made my first signing...Roony Bardghji who comes in at the end of the season for £9.75 m potentially rising to £17.75m. Salah has signed a new contract adding another season but VVD won't currently sign. I'd like another midfielder in January as I will let Thiago leave at the end of the season, that's if he doesn't go in January, as Saudi clubs are sniffing round him. I'm looking at Andre who will cost £34m or Zubimendi who would cost £51m. He looks a bit of a Rodri clone to be honest, though not as good, only thing that bothers me is his lack of pace, but he makes up for that elsewhere. Signing one of these smooths the way for Thiago going and using Endo more sparingly as he hasn't been great. Bajcetic will then get loads more game time too, as he has to be the future. Elsewhere Curtis Jones has been class, and Quansah too has been really good, used him quite a bit in the Europa League and he is improving no end.

5 games into the PL season and I have won all 5 games, albeit against relatively average teams, so tougher tests to come. As always I have transfers off to start the season so no transfers, most of pre-season was spent sorting out staff. Pretty happy with my tactics though yet to be tested properly against a decent team. I have 2 versions of the same tactic. The main one is below which is pretty attacking. TAA comes into midfield as an inverted wing back and Robertson piles forward down the left on the overlap, so essentially I am just left with a box of 4 players (Endo, TAA VVD, Gomez) sat in the middle of the field to defend any counter attacks before we get back into our defensive shape. The second version of this is a bit more chilled out, Robertson reverts to a Inverted full back so forms a back 3 and its all more about just slowing things down and keeping possession, so as to take the sting out the game and save energy. I switch between these 2 tactics during matches depending on the situation. Only annoying thing so far, rookie error, I managed to somehow leave Doak out my Europa League squad!

Is it just me who checks any new staff can speak some sort of English?

A tiny minority. I just see it as somewhere to post progress and chat with and share ideas with others. A fancy opening post isn’t necessary.

Same here. Desperate to get going but would rather wait for full version. In the meantime just been messing about a bit setting up some views, doing some scouting, working out the new set piece creator etc. Agree with others though it looks good, much improved from last couple of years.

I suspect he just doesn’t like those teams. 🤣

I would like to see an improvement to how pre-season fixtures are handled. Currently you can take charge and choose fixtures yourself, though (correct me if I am wrong) I don’t think you can arrange a tour yourself, or your assistant can choose your fixtures, which is a bit hit and miss. I think it would be great if at the end of the previous season you had a meeting with DOF and assistant or whoever else might be relevant to see how many games you want to play. What type of opponents, and whether you want to go on tour or just have a training camp. Depending on the team and also your influence you might not have much say, ie if you are Liverpool manager going to USA for example might be forced on you due to the money it makes. A proposal of fixtures and arrangements can then be presented to you which may be non negotiable or you can make adjustments to. I assume something like that happens in real life and would be a great addition for me. Playing as Liverpool which I nearly always do, pres-season currently feels a bit hit and miss as do tours abroad which could be enhanced in some way. cheers!

Just thought I’d pop on here for no other reason other than to say how much I’m looking forward to the new game. Some of the improvements and new features look really good. As usual I ran out of steam/interest in my previous game around season 5 and haven’t played it since May I reckon despite having the best crop of youngsters I’ve ever had in any game. I had at least 3 potential world beaters. But I always lose interest after a while, plus it was Summer! Looking forward to managing this new Liverpool team with the new midfielders and working how to get the best out of them, combined with the improvements around use of full backs etc it should be really interesting!!

I haven't been on here for a while, but I've still been playing the original game I started and I've just finished my 6th season and intend to continue. This is the furthest I have taken a game, I normally get bored after 4 seasons so but I'm still enjoying this game. Main reason for this is due to a few of the youth intakes I had in my first few seasons, and the challenge of trying to bring these players through, which I've gradually been able to do. I wouldn't say any are first choice starters still, but they are certainly contributing plenty now. One of them just won me the Champions League final, coming off the bench to score 2 goals. Youth intakes the last few years have been a little sparser but I can't complain!! Original Liverpool players I still have are Alisson TAA Konate Bacjetic and Nunez ( I also have Gakpo who I got on a free after season 4) Posted below a picture of my current squad, plus my 3 best regens who have come through from the youth team.

Sold Tsimikas too for £27.5m to Man City. Replaced him with Luca Netz whose £37m release clause I paid. He should be good enough to be Robertson’s long term replacement. 8 games into the 3rd season I’m already 7 points behind City which isn’t ideal. Just lost 1-0 to them at their stadium. I’m literally incapable of getting any kind of result at their ground.

End of season 2 I won the PL again and also beat Bayern in the CL final 3-2 after extra time. Not sure how, they were way superior to me throughout the whole game. Heading into season 3, despite attempts to get VVD to renew he has refused saying he will explore his options. So now with just one season left I have reluctantly sold him. Got £21m plus adds on from PSG. Replaced him with Gvardiol for up to £75m so pretty happy with that. Singed Manu Kone too for £45m to add to Fabian Reider who came in during January for £33m. Also signed Joao Pedro for £55m plus add ons as Bobby left at the end of his contract and Jota wants to leave too and I don’t seem to have much choice other than to let him go. Offered Tsimikas a new contract and he won’t settle for less than £165k a week so I have a decision to make on him too. Might have to sell him.

Just coming towards the end of season 2. Through to the semis of the CL, and engaged in a battle for the PL with Chelsea. Currently hold a 2 point lead so fingers crossed. Posting though to comment on my youth intakes. Both have been ridiculously good. Three 5* players plus several 4* players across the 2 intakes. I couldn’t help myself and had to install the editor so I could see just how good these guys might be. I have players with the following PA in my youth team. 190 178 176 159 158 155 151 151 plus more in the 140’s. Ridiculous😁

Finished the first season by winning the league with a game to spare. Beat Madrid in the CL Final. Which was nice. Knocked Man City out along the way. Also won the Carabao Cup. Man City knocked me out the FA Cup. Start of second season blew almost my whole budget on Bellinghams release clause of £105m. Was tempted instead to go for 2 midfielders, potentially Caicedo and Fernandez, but having watched Bellingham in the World Cup, I had to have him. Also signed Victor Kristiansen, the left back from Copenhagen for £7.5m who has stayed there on loan for another season. Also sold Matip for £30m and got in Zabarnyi who I think paid a total of about £22.5m for, so a good deal, moving on the oldest central defender and getting in a hot prospect who is hopefully happy to be 4th choice for now, albeit it still getting games here and there. Ox and Milner left on frees, other than that squad remains the same for now.

That’s the same way I set up and I have used him in the Mezzala role fairly successfully. Him and Jones pretty much shared the role. I don’t see him as a Deep Lying Playmaker.

I’m the opposite of this. Hate selling our current players and getting loads of new players in. I feel like I’m doing the dirty on them. Especially my real life faves. It’s going to hurt letting the Ox go. 🙁

Just got my youth intake in the first season and have got three 5 star potential players. I’ve been lucky in previous games to even get a 4 star player so I’m chuffed with this. You can already see their potential with some decent mental and physical stats. All 3 of them have 17+ determination. Anyone else been seeing similar intakes or have I just got really lucky?
