  1. When you refund it, but can't resist the romance of a few hours of FM on winter nights, so you buy it again anyway.
  2. It's not showing up properly in steam, suggest manual search for football manager 2023 editor or go here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2066750/Football_Manager_2023_Editor/ Wouldn't show in library for me earlier today, same as resource archiver, but it is there. Just looks like a Steam glitch
  3. Back for yet another year - the Inter-Continental Cups, resuming where the old Toyota Cup ended and expanded for other games between continental cup winners. Inter-Continental Champions Cup (ICCC): UEFA Champions League Winners versus Copa Libertadores da América Winners Inter-Continental Champions Shield (ICCS): UEFA Europa League versus Copa Sudamericana Winners Inter-Continental Champions Trophy (ICCT) UEFA Champions League Winners versus CONCACAF Champions League Winners Inter-Continental Americas Clubs Cup (ICAC) Copa Libertadores da América Winners versus CONCACAF Champions League Winners Intercontinental AFC-CAF Clubs' Cup (IACC) AFC Champions League Winners versus TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Winners Intercontinental AFC-CAF Clubs' Trophy (IACT) AFC Cup Winners versus TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Winners 12 subs from 12-man bench Extra Time and Penalties Rotating Neutral Stadiums Steam Link: [FM23] The Intercontinental Cups
  4. I really like this idea, magnificent work. I often make similar adjustments so it's great to see someone put it all together like this. Thank you
  5. Annual Super Cups for English and Scottish Champions Premier League Champions versus Scottish Premiership Champions & FA Cup Winners versus Scottish Cup Winners History added for immersion. Rotating National Stadia Steam Link: [FM23] The Anglo-Scottish Super Cups
  6. The British Royal League takes the four best-placed teams in the football leagues of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales. It runs from July to April. The Royal League was an annual Scandinavian football tournament held three times between teams from the three Scandinavian monarchies starting after the end of the regular domestic seasons of Norway and Sweden. The four best-placed teams in the football leagues of Denmark, Sweden and Norway participated in the tournament and so the British Isles has its own version in FM. 7. Back for a 12th year, the original expansion of the long extinct Royal League. The Royal League was an annual Scandinavian football tournament held three times between teams from the three Scandinavian monarchies (Denmark, Sweden, and Norway) starting after the end of the regular domestic seasons of Norway and Sweden. The four best-placed teams in the football leagues of Denmark, Sweden and Norway participated in the tournament. This further expanded version incorporates the top two teams from Iceland and Finland with the top four from Denmark, Sweden and Norway seeded to split the nations across groups. Finances are at moderate levels. Full history added from each FM version since FM2012 for immersion and continuity. Awards updated Steam Link: [FM23] The Royal League (Expanded)
  8. ..and yet, year on year, this exhibition of pent up entitlement is unleashed, as if releasing it at the stated time is unjust or unfair. Isn't the internet just wonderful?
  9. No, because entitlement is meta and choice is difficult, it also requires thought and patience.
  10. No, but if it helps those that do use it, then great, everyone wins.
  11. Ah, the days of queuing outside a shop on release day and then spending all night hunched over a machine with some early Pentium processor and not knowing anything was wrong with the game. Now it's all refreshing forum pages, reading rants about superkeepers/scripted AI and static defending and discovering bugs you never noticed yourself, all while relaunching steam until it drops. No romance any more.....
  12. It's doable in long careers after a few seasons. The AI squad degeneration is so bad over time that you ultimately go from winning the league, to winning at a canter, to conceding only 7/8 times in 36/38 games. That said, the static defending I noted while sampling the beta might make it impossible this iteration.
  13. Why would it change then? What a bizarre statement to make. Almost as bad as woke-gate up top. As for sound, I can't recall playing the game with sound in the last ten years. Normally listening to something else.
  14. This, and the 'correct' answer is the same thing over and over and over again. I dread meeting the press at a new club only to have to answer the same ten questions in the same way as always.
  15. 2hrs? I got a refund after two weeks, Steam didn't even question it, think I gave the option 'other' and stated "doesn't live up to expectations compared to last year, is essentially the same game plus bloat"
  16. Not any smarter than FM22. The AI still has a habit of signing distinctly average players, who never get a game, then end up transfer listed. Meanwhile AI teams weaken season after season as a result.
  17. The feedback is in the bugs section, though in all fairness, much more eager people have gone on a rant early doors so there's no reason to duplicate per SI's request. AI Squad-building, AI Squad Selection, Aging players, overplayed AI players - due to lack of AI rotation, bizarre transfers that aren't played, said bizarre transfers being sold at a loss five minutes later, transfers being unhappy within a month of joining, wonderkids that haven't been signed to a contract by an AI that seems happy to let them leave for free, half an AI team wanting out suddenly despite topping the table, players moaning about playing time because they missed one game against lower division minnows in an unimportant cup game where I played the people who needed a chance.... these are all long term save issues and long outstanding issues. So, we've said what they are for a very long time, and it's sad to see all those old posts being bought back up annually as people question why it wasn't fixed. That's without getting onto the anal repetition of the vast majority of the so-called 'dynamic interaction' that ceases to be dynamic for me within a few games resulting in a hatred of interviews - yes, you can hand them off, but the AI AM's are full blown window-lickers at times. I won't start on the match engine, some of it is wonderful animation wise, but the 'football' is not. I don't care for graphics, I care for movement and intelligence. But yeah, I typically lose too much time to FM despite it's issues, and rarely get to play much until my annual editor offerings are complete, so it will be nice to have time for other things while the usual three months of adjustments are made to FM.
  18. Well, I've refunded. I'll see what FM24 offers, but for the first time in 30yrs I'm just not that interested based on the beta. Lots of 'meh' new features that feel like bloat, too many outstanding and unresolved issues from FM22, 21, 20..... See how it looks come the final patch, plenty of other new things out before then.
  19. Never had this issue with forwards in FM22, but in any three man midfield, either the DM was 6.3 all season, or one of the DM's, or one of the CM's, in almost any given combo.
  20. Cool, didn't realise there were any skins out, but I missed the beta warning, only got one eye at present, surgery on the other. So an *edt in the edt folder is enough for this to work again?
  21. I can't get it to work in FM23, the chap that said it worked in the Editor thread was still playing an earlier version. Shame really, even if it was fixed, it would only take a few minutes for someone from SI to share some info as to how it should work. This is a wonderful way to bring back legends or legendary teams in newgen form, without manually creating a faceless entity in the editor.
  22. Oh of course, completely understand that. The Premier League sticks out because it already has fixture congestion, stupid TV times, an extra cup compared to the likes of Germany, and replays in the FA Cup as well as two legged ties in the 'Man City Cup' Semi-Final.
  23. As noxious in game as it is in real life. Quite where these two extra fixtures go next season given the existing fixture congestion is a concern. Likely time for clubs in Europe to withdraw from the league cup. (It's a laughing stock to every club but the one that wins it and suddenly pretends it's a major trophy anyway ) I wonder how quickly it'll change when it turns out smaller clubs are qualifying that they expected to? Or teams are playing the reserves in dead rubbers to save legs for the domestic comps.
  24. Basically this, yes. Intentional because SI's goal is to have FM mimic real life rules, but whether it's realistic or inappropriately restrictive will depend on save games being uploaded for SI to delve into. Another issue here of course, is the players who do actually refuse to move to some enormous club. We don't hear about them because clubs don't air their failed attempts to the media in the same way as actual signings in real life, so we don't really know how many young players choose to 'stay and get a game' over 'move and sit in the youth team for a bucket of cash'. I seem to recall Abdul Fatawu Issahaku choosing to stay with Sporting CP, with whom he had been training for several months, and signing a five year deal having turning down Bayern Leverkusen, Red Bull Salzburg, Ajax, Basel, Arsenal, Liverpool and allegedly Barcelona. Again, it's not as if he's made any statements to the press as to his reasoning, so only he knows his reasons for choosing Sporting over other suitors, some of which are of much greater repute. I fear the biggest issue in game, assuming there isn't a bug that makes everyone refuse to sign based on some over-zealous mechanic, is that it's the same drivel about moving at a young age is stated as the reason for not moving. This is reminiscent of Joe Average in my squad refusing to sign a new contract with my five season champions league winners full of much better players because "the playing squad doesn't match his ambitions"...wtf? There must be another reason, but the one stated is unrealistic. Similarly, I'd expect a youth to have a better excuse than - "cos of my age bruv". Personally, I've always found it astonishing that youngsters, even at huge clubs, have not signed a pre-contract or even a contract at 16. I hope this has been fixed. It undermines the challenge somewhat when you scout for a player with potential and find that the best three young strikers on the planet aren't on a contract. It's what made previous FM's so dull in long term saves.
