  1. Hey there @Funtastick

Sorry you're getting troubles. Thanks for already trying to reinstall, always worth a try, but let's look in some more depth.

Can you provide your dxdiag please? (it doesn't sound like it even generates a crash dump, but just in case please provide that too if you can!) This will enable us to take a deeper look

I would also recommend deleting your cache & preferences - a reinstall wouldn't remove these entirely so definitely worth a try.

  2. hey there @pnkjkmr772 sorry you're having trouble!

Thanks for already trying to reinstall. I think we'd better take a closer look at what's happening. When it crashes, do you get an error message at all, or does it just "vanish"?
Ideally I'd like a crash dump file but not sure if it's generating one? Do supply it if is, please!

I'd definitely like to see your dxdiag also.

Sorry, I understand this is on Epic!

This error is usually down to the graphics drivers. It is odd you are not seeing it in FM18. According to the dxdiag in your first post the graphics driver needs an update.

Have you updated it since? Would it be possible to get a new dxdiag from you?

  4. Hey @Mattias333 thanks for creating this thread!

Ok, this sounds an annoying issue - my apologies, it can't be any fun playing like this.

About your laptop wifi issue - I could see an online app closing or crashing if your network adapter "vanishes!" Does that issue happen ONLY when playing FM, or will you notice it when doing other things? Either way I do think that's a huge issue, bit hard to say for sure if it's related here but let's see if we can at least get you into FM.

If you want to try FM20 offline via Epic Launcher, you first need to go into the Launcher settings and put a tick into "Enable Offline Mode Browsing" - online stuff like the store won't load, but you should be able to play any installed games. Can you try that and let me know if you can get into FM?

  5. Hey all,

Sorry about this, we are investigating cloud file size limits on Epic Launcher. We will provide an update when we can

We would recommend saving locally in the meantime.

@Reign, yes if your save goes to ~Temporary, it will wipe that folder when you exit (by design, hence the name) - sorry if you've lost anything!

That isn't where it should save by default, so you may want to delete the Preferences folder (under \Appdata\Local\Sports Interactive\ Football Manager 2020)

The next time you save after that, check the last_saved_game.xml again - you absolutely should see a different path there. Anything but Temporary should be fine...  Please come back to us after that. I'd like to know how you get on!

Not sure if doing any of the above was the actual solution or if there was an issue with Steam during our game that had issues but everything is back to working fine again.

    Thanks for the help.

Glad you managed to sort it :) Thank you for being  very patient and thorough with what you tried!

We've just checked all this. Both uninstalled and re-installed the game. Kicked him off as soon as he got on again. Seen someone else in forums saying they couldn't get the person using a mac to connect either. We've never had an issue connecting before until the new hotfix.

Hey @Ricboard are you still having an issue? We did find an issue since the hotfix but that's cleared up now. Can you make your own thread if you're still getting an issue? We can look at your issue in more detail that way.

That's the thing, I can't add the game to any of the  graphics cards. When I click add games on Intel and amd, all my other games pop up but FM20 doesn't pop up on either one.

    Hey there @BreatheChelsea

It looks like the Intel one is just onboard graphics; since you have an AMD Radeon 530 I'd suggest using that for FM20,

How do you normally get to the game? Is it on Steam, Epic... I'd suggest launching it from there. I'm Just wondering where it crashes. If you can get to Preferences I'd like to know what setting the game is at - I think you should set the game to Low and see if it handles any better.

If the crash is generating a crash dump (it should tell you this when it crashes) would you mind attaching that too please?

  8. Hey, sorry you're having issues.

Is this a problem in more games than Football Manager? And did it only happen after a memory upgrade? Can you confirm this for me?

However we can look at Football Manager for you.

Can you provide a crash dump file please? It usually generates one when the game stops.

  9. Hey there @roeelo sorry you're getting this.

Thanks for that last screenshot, that is the default path we'd expect to find saves! ... so let's investigate.. :)

If you go into Football Manager's Preferences I am wondering what it has in the Location path? (If you type Save into the search box it will filter it). Can you take a printscreen of that for me please? I'd really like to figure this out!

  10. Hi @FLvik sorry you're encountering this.

Just to check, is Epic saving to directories that exist? Could you checkand tell me the destination folders please? For example I would expect the local save to be C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\games

    Cloud saves in C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\epic_cloud

(If it's not set to those I would suggest changing it to those folders).

If it's telling you a specific error, it would be good to know that also :)

  11. Hey @pbrobyn sorry you're getting these issues.

Is the host always the same friend? I think for the purposes of testing it would help for someone else to host. Can you try this potential fix for me? :

The game will have generated a save on the host's machine, this needs to go to the other host. You said they're in Window 10, so that's in C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2020\games

Take this file, and it should be dropped into the same location by the new host (if it's the person on a Mac they will need to they need to go to "GO" on the top bar on the finder, hold down the alt key and go to library. Then it's application support>sports interactive>FM20>Games)

So the new host loads up the game, they will need to go to the Game Status screen via the FM drop down menu. From there, there is the Relinquish button - when the new host presses Yes, the new host will take control of that save, and take control of their own manager profile again.

Then after that they can try to host a new game. When the others join, the host needs to tick the admin box next to their name on the game status screen so they can take control of their own manager profiles.

Please try this and come back to us!

  12. Hey there @amiss

I am just wondering, you said you are running on the Recommended settings, right? I'm just wondering what FM sets this as, be it Very High, High etc.  Does the GPU usage change if you choose the next one down, or is consistently 100% usage no matter what?

Interesting to note you don't notice the issue in other games. Would you say these games are more less demanding than FM? (List them if you like, I am a gamer!)

It isn't necessarily unexpected for GPU usage to be pretty high when rendering 3D scenes in any game (not that it should be always 100% by any means), that'd be why you don't get the issue running matches in 2D.  But is there anything else happening in FM when you notice this? I'm thinking along the lines of lag, or slowdown.

  13. Hi @mikey33rs - this sounds a weird issue :D

Yeah, it does sound like it's behaving like if you held down space. It shouldn't do that on its own!!

Let's take a look! Could  you please provide your DXDIAG? Instructions to do so are here:

I think it would be useful if you provide a save of your game also, I'd like to see if I get the same problem. Are you running any custom leagues or dabatases?
