    That is exactly what I am experiencing with my 4-2-3-1. My VOL(a) occupies the left half space and my AM(s) slides over to the right half space.

    That's fine. I really enjoy FM24 already with the way players are moving and creating space. I have a VOL(a) as my left CDM pushing up in the left half space and my AM(s) then automatically slides over to the right half space.

    Will this thread continue with FM24? There are so many possibilities with this shape in regards to positional play and the rotations created with the roles and duties.

    I have this 4-2-3-1 with the exact same TI's as in my 4-3-3.

    I would guess his player has some player traits that will make him stay back.

    1. I do think that it can work with an IW in front of an IWB. 2. I do not think it can work with an IF in front of an IWB. The reason behind my thinking is that, in my mind, the IF comes inside even without the ball to occupy the half space. The IW will hold the width a tad better, coming inside with the ball. I would imagine it works the best with a W, though, and that is also what I've been using in my current 4-3-3.

    I don't think it is possible to create that wide rotation that you are looking for. I haven't tried using an IWB combined with the team instruction 'Overlap', so I don't know if that's the closets you can get.

    I don't see many problems with your setup. There's a couple of things I would do: 1. IW(a) to W(s) 2. DM(d) to DM(s)

    Just took a quick screenshot of my team having the ball. I really like the shape we are achieving. It's kinda like a 2-6-2 with a box midfield.
