  1. Not sure if it´s a bug, this guy played 13 games for me in 2046, a few Carabao cup, a few from the bench and one single CL match. He is the national goalkeeper without England having achieved anything spectacular. My guess is that he got "English player of the year" award in 1946 based on winning the Champions League final where my first keeper was injured, his first match in the CL. Nothing big as I usually don´t pay much attention to rewards, this one surprised me A LOT though because I do have a few English players who actually really mattered and played well throughout the entirety of last season.
  2. Should be the easiest at least ... me thinks. Never managed in Scotland, might be my next target.
  3. I just used the editor, bypassing my board entirely, they can go and preferably never come back. Even an affiliated club to which I could send regens was denied, gave myself three and paying them a good amount each year. Used Google to try and figure out what youth facilities would cost me, deducted that and upgraded along with the training ground, freaking expensive though. I am a happy guy, thought I would have a bad conscience by using the editor, nope, happy as ever. I feel your pain, in FM clubs are extremely financially focused, in 2045 the wages for the top clubs are far below today´s standards. Nobody spends a 100 million on a player in my FM game except for yours truly, bought one for 180 million and he was worth it. My wages are also far above my direct competitors, all this is due to sponsorships going downhill for all clubs. With the financial "cuffs" every club has I can only imagine what it is like to get a little club promoted and would assume the board only things about "now" ... no future thoughts.
  4. That depends on tactical approach, especially in the last 15 minutes of a game where a lot is decided. If you can´t make more substitutions or you simply think your DM is good enough to be commanded forward and leave the defensive duties to the two CBs ... then you put him on attack, happens a lot in real life when everyone is pushed forward. That can however be done in the tactical screen manually, no problem, I think the OP is just looking for a 90 minute solution where everything is automated. Another solution would be to have game plans working when you are in a charge as well, I think they only work if you are on holiday. 1-0 up and certain tactical adaptations are made, 1-1 ... and change again automatically, never used game plans or whatever they are called, so not sure. I am fine with how it is now by the way, leaves me something to do when watching the team. I can understand others wanting more automation though.
  5. 2044 : Center backs are really hard to come by, good ones that is. I have the best in the world and he is shown below. There are no Haalands, Messis or Ronaldos in my game, in general I would say all stats are a bit toned down and lots of players with gaps in their stats. Like brilliant world class wingers with no passing or midfielders with with no bravery, something is always lacking. This could of course be my game only, don´t know. The best player in the world is mine as well, right sided inside/advanced forward ... but he is no Haaland or Kane. Pic shown below. I have had to retrain two supposedly extremely good target men as center backs in the past simply because quality was lacking in the transfer market. They both did well in their new positions. As for midfielders, there seem to be tons of decent midfielders, this really stresses out the need to pick and choose between stats as there are are very few all rounded midfielders, I have none "all rounded" in the first team, only just now did buy a wonderkid who looks like he has it all. One came up from the academy but he had 2 in determination and 1 in strength, so it will probably be a sale at some point. Tons of good wingbacks but they are all small in size :-D
  6. I am at Wrexham without any debts but since the ownership changed and Deadpool left the club I have been denied every single request with a simple reason, projected loss, can´t do anything while the club is in a precarious position financially according to the board. They won´t even agree to an affiliate club. I have been relying on at least two sales a year to maintain status quo and a healthy balance, Not. Forest with a 300 million sponsorship until last season (declined this season) have bought a lot of good players from my squad which brings me to the weird sponsorship issue. My squad are heavyweights, 8 times champions in a row and 6 CL titles havn´t really changed my sponsorships, I am still at where I was 8 seasons ago. A lot of the sponsorships have declined for most big clubs though. I have 200 million in the bank, some 450 million available for transfers which I can´t use due to understanding how my club functions financially. I do have a high wage budget within allowed limits but it seems that for some reason the board has spelled doom over the club since they took over 3 seasons ago. There is no doom, the club is more than fine financially. My new board doesn´t support the club financially which Ryan Reynolds did .. could also be the reason but although Ryan did put some money every season it wasn´t needed. I have sort of come to a halt since the club refuses everything, might just use the editor to just add and subtract what I feel is realistic in terms of facility upgrades.
  7. There seems to be a problem which I only had in the Championship, not as much in the PL. Players were definitely asking for a lot more in the Championship than I could pay at Wrexham, I wrote a post about it on Steam (I think) which explained how my players were all demanding what is currently the wage standard at real life "Brentford". Paul Mullin was demanding 55k and I couldn´t afford that, had to sell him and he ended up rotting in some reserves for 35k a week. In real life there are usually clauses indicating a new wage after a promotion but it´s extremely rare for players with 3+ years left of their contract to demand a new contract after promotion, Brentford only renewed two contracts upon promotion to the PL and none which had 3+ years left in them. Once I got to the PL it changed, players were actually somewhat reasonable and I renewed as needed. Signing a 5 year contract is both good and bad for most players, you ensure 5 years of a decent salary but you are also usually stuck with it until either the club decides to renew or you are sold. Current payroll at Brentford ... https://www.spotrac.com/epl/brentford-fc/payroll/ ... in FM most of these players will demand a lot more after a couple of seasons and it´s non negotiable. Granted, not the best squad at all but cheap. Once I got to the PL I had to let some players go, Cannon who was demanding 80k a week ..... and he was at most a decent first division player. Others were fine and some I bullied into submission
  8. One of the reasons I never use a large database, if you don´t have quite a few leagues running you will end up with a lot of decent players doing nothing. Don´t know how many leagues it should take to accommodate a large database, I am running a medium with 12 leagues .... and I find it too large, still plenty of good footballers with no job.
  9. I can negotiate about 70% of the offers to a 100% salary and a fee for playing time, usually one of the highlighted fees like 10 or 20k. The only thing is that it takes time, sometimes there are dozens of offers at the same time and it takes far too long to go through each and every loan offer. The "fringe player" offer can´t be negotiated, I have tried a few times and all clubs reject it. It is however cosmetic, only in rare instances have I experienced players not getting enough playtime. It seems that the "player status" is actually higher than the bid shows, bug ... me thinks. I have put a few on the development list with requirements and have yet to succeed with just one, usually because I set "regular starter" and no club wants that. The bottom line, fringe player is fine, negotiate the salary and put a fee on playing time only.
  10. Not home at the moment but did call my nephew to load up the game and check, HE HAS KILLER BALLS ....... well ... know what to do when I get home.
  11. I could when I get home which won´t be till after Christmas sometime, taking off now to a Christmas resort. It´s a bit shameful though, I am only "complaining" about one guy .... I am winning all my matches. Only lost one game this season vs Pool at home, last season was more of a worry due to some nasty draws and my competitors keeping up, this season has been a breeze. Claude is injured though for a long time ... so not sure you will be able to experiment.
  12. If you read my post those goals came from a DM position during an injury crisis I have one strong striker who scores a goal a game, the other guys do reasonably well without excelling in the AF position except for Claude, you might be right about speed but that still begs the question about why he can´t play a deep lying forward. That was his intended role when I first got him, never played well there. 14 in passing isn´t world class but it doesn´t really explain the 6.4s he gets all the time, could be his playing traits ... need to get a look at that when I get home. I sort of wanted him to play like Muller in Bayern .... not much luck with that. ( I am starting to suspect that angry face to be the culprit, the aggressiveness, he plays well without the angry face) This is my one goal a game striker when he isn´t injured, gets kicked a lot in games ... not injury prone.
  13. That´s exactly how my tactic is set up .... except for the overlaps and AM. Tried AM and it doesn´t work, neither support nor attack, he gets swallowed by the two IFs. Only have one guy able to pull it off in the AM position, the rest play like crap there .... SS is the only position Claude plays "decently", not amazing but he usually pulls off a 7 which is enough.
  14. I have a French player, according to "world´s best" he is ranked 2nd and only has one problem, he is slightly injury prone. Lots of small injuries throughout the last 7 seasons, bought him when he was 17 and mentored him well I think, not sure about that. He is driven and there are no negative remarks about him in the coach report. Last season I had an injury crisis and poor Claude was given a lot of responsibility as a sole striker, playing far more than he really should accumulating an XG of 38 in the PL and scoring 20 goals, did draw a lot because the ball simply wouldn´t go in and my wingers can´t score when Claude is on the pitch, it sounds weird but that´s the case, that has been his trademark throughout the time I have had him, lots of chances but extremely poor efficiency, he also hardly ever assists. I have tried him over the course of the last 4 seasons where he has been a regular to use him as an advanced forward, complete forward, target man and trequartista ... he has failed miserably in all my attempts and I have given him time, it´s not like one or two games in a new role, usually 10-15. The picture is always the same, lots of chances ... few goals. He is aggressive when he starts and always immediately starts plummeting in ratings, 6.7 -6.6 - 6.5 and only if he scores does he get a happy face. This year I have another injury crisis, it´s short but my midfielders are out for 2-4 weeks, so I had to go through the players to see who best could fill a defensive position in the midfield, Claude seemed the best suited ... lo and behold ... he scores 5 goals from a DM position in 2 matches, that´s what I call defying logic. He is not the fastest on Earth but had similar less rated forwards who kept their scoring rate in the PL at a normal level. Maybe I should retrain him as a midfielder .... running out of ideas as the problem seems to affect my other offensive players, they too miss a lot when Claude is on the pitch as a forward. Any clues? Edit: I got the latest picture of the last match where Claude returned up front .....
  15. I have no idea, can only tell you that 12 leagues and 20 years later there have been no slowdowns. As for your project, good luck :).
  16. Don´t think the AI does either, I checked the top 6 teams for appearances amongst their most important players, the highest PL tally for a single player was 34, on average it´s about 28-30 games a season (PL only) ... this is low if one considers that it concerns all players. (Only checked those who are called up for internationals The picture shows Man Utd´s probably most important player and that´s the normal tally for most internationals in the PL. I do remember Haaland playing most games when he was around, don´t know what has changed but the number of PL games for each important player who is also an international as been reduced a lot. Mine just got back from internationals, I had a 7 day break and gave them all a weeks rest, that didn´t do any good. 3 jaded players after the first match and the only thing I have had success with is 2 weeks holiday, one week at times but they miss too many important games, it does however make sure they don´t get unhappy about their playing time. Resting them while telling them about missing a game doesn´t help, they will get jaded when starting 2nd/3rd game after that. This is with training or no training. I do have a very good team and thus I am just sending players on holiday left and right, the subs usually do the job. It only happens after internationals and can last a while.
  17. Nope, Deadpool is still in charge. <---- Would explain a lot if really was Deadpool.
  18. I have had this screen for a very long time only abrupted once where the takeover was cancelled but appeared again right after. I have been requesting a couple of things over time and everything is denied, I wonder if this is due to the takeover that never happens.
  19. The 5 major leagues + Scotland/Holland and England Div 2. That´s 8 in total + the English sub leagues. Medium database. Major leagues: Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, France
  20. Absolutely, not using gegenpress currently and very successful. I did use it to rise up the ranks since you don´t really need to pay a lot of attention to which players you have apart from work rate and stamina issues. People often combine gegenpress with the highest tempo possible and I think the latter is actually more beneficial than the style itself, if you try gegenpress with a lower tempo to play a bit like f.ex. M. City which is a team that slows the pace down when needed it´s most likely to fail in FM, tempo is far more important in FM than the style itself in my experience. You are very right about needing the right type of players for a certain style, I play "route one" currently but I have the people for it, currently on a 38 match unbeaten streak (cups and league), can´t afford to have small people upfront ... they usually play like crap. I switch to "direct counter" when I am 1 or 2 goals up depending on the opposition, gegenpress and offensive if I need to chase. I have been very focused on the needed stats when buying, I don´t really need that many good passers which I don´t have.
  21. So, mine seems normal compared to yours, nice to know. I have always wondered how those Portuguese clubs keep making one wonderkid after the other. I think I have bought 7 or 8 players from Porto in 17 seasons.
  22. Mine have been excellent since I started in league 2, always had one or two I could use and 2 world class players in 17 seasons, those 2 actually came before I focused on upgrading all of the youth stuff. This is my latest, since I however don´t really know what you guys get it´s hard to do a comparable estimation.
  23. I waited another 6 months, another transfer window passed by and he kept prolonging his thoughts "would never break into the first team" ... I used the editor to remove unhappiness and he withdrew the transfer demands. Fortunately the "remove unhappiness" button has no impact on players demanding play time, they still demand to be played and their unhappiness about that specific issue remains. I don´t know, may be a bug or not.
  24. I am a year in, he had 39 games as a squad player, is very happy with his playing time but still doesn´t think he will ever break in to the first team. This may bug out for some players.
  25. It has happened twice and is a bit annoying, I had a youth player who was ready for the first team, I promoted him to regular starter before the end of season but before the transfer window he complained about never being able to break into the first team and wanted out. The thing is that my two aging strikers were on their way out, both already out on paper, one signed a free contract for an Arabic team and the other I sold. In the conversation I wasn´t able to tell "the kid" that it was his time to shine, there were only options to refuse his request or loan/sell him. I tried everything but he wanted to be sold as he was never going to get first team football according to his "thoughts", had no option to convince him that he would feature regularly now. I used the editor, made him happy and all was well, gave him a fat contract .... and he was now my new striker, felt really bad about it though, hate cheating but couldn´t really see any other option. Last season the same happened, this time I didn´t use the editor, I bit the dust and waited things out to see if he would change his mind as I made him a regular starter and played him accordingly. A year later and two transfer windows gone he still wants out believing he will never see first team football. It´s not something that happens often, only seen it twice in FM and only in this version.
