  1. I think it is the first player you interract with after clearing a list on the squad planner screen. I didn't go through with the actions in the post above and tried to add the next player straight away - it was reporting the right positions for 4-4-2 BUT, the next time I try to add Mullings from the squad page (after adding a couple of players to DCR) I get a list for a WB formation It's very strange. The game keeps changing the formation and the available positions when I try to add a player via the squad screen I only have one basic, untinkered with, formation in my tactics so it would seem adding to squad planner via the squad screen is ignoring the tactic (when it feels like it). Does it depend on the player and his available positions? I know there has been a lot of rambling here, but I've been playing with this and trying to find what's causing it.
  2. It does actually seem to be happening regularly. I just cleared my list of DCR and got this for the first player I tried to add from my squad list Whether it is just as simple as the option to add player from the squad list is returning the wrong formation
  3. I must add that after I have tried to add Dickinson via his profile I then get a list of positions for 4-4-2 if I try to add him via the squad page. It is is as if attempting to add a player via his profile page "fixes" the wrong positions list on the squad page. It is a strange issue. I hope I have explained this well.
  4. I noticed this yesterday but couldn't get it to replicate. I assume this is also unknown. I did a search of the bugs but it is extensive. Apologies if it is known. I have been going over the squad planner and experimenting with finding the best way to use it. I have recently been starting again with each position and adding players via my squad screen. 1) I cleared my list for DL, doing this player by player, and ending up with a clean slate for DL. 2) I then went to my squad window and filtered for all players marked as DL. 3) On the first player, Carl Dickinson, I right click his name, scroll down to Report>Add To Squad Planner and I get the following list of players: 4) Without continuing or doing anything else, I go to Carl Dickinson's profile and select Reports>Add To Squad Planner from the top menus. This time I get a different list of positions: My tactic is set as a 4-4-2 Route One so I am thinking it should give me a list of position for that tactic, not the positions I got from trying to add Dickinson to the squad planner via the squad page (as in step 3). As i said, I saw this happen yesterday but didn't get a screenshot the first time. I tried to replicate the issue and couldn't. Tonight I logged in fresh and this happened. It seems there may be a specific set of steps required, i.e. the ones I have listed. I will add the save I replicated this on. anagain_squadplanner_bug.fm Hopefully you can replicate this with the save I have provided.
  5. I need people's help. I have been playing with the squad planner and trying new ways to configure it to see what works best. I cleared my list of Fullbacks, thinking I'd start again. Above is my young defensive player and you can see I've added him to the DR role via his profile. The confusing thing is that when I tried to add him to the planner from the squad screen I didn't have an option to add him as a DR. The only option was WBR. It's as if the 'add to squad planner' option from the squad screen was using a different tactic. I only have one tactic currently. Now, I didn't get a screenshot but I swear the list didn't have DR. I have gone back to my save I loaded in to and tried to recreate this issue to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this? I wanted to bug it but without proof I can't, not would it help if I can't recreate the issue
  6. Okay, thanks for the suggestion, Fraz. I've mentioned this every year since they removed it. Might even have requested it before, but I'd have to search to see if that is the case. I will do this later though. Thanks
  7. I know I'm busy but I'm going to bed after i write this post. Please tell me the game has an option to see past conversations with players again. This is an option that was removed from the game a few FMs ago, for some crazy reason. I talk to my players but I don't have the memory of an elephant. I'm old and so I have the memory of a goldfish. I can't instantly remember when I had conversations with my each member of my squad of 25+ players. If I have told a player he's not playing well on Tuesday, I don't then want to tell him he's not playing well on Friday...because I probably forgot I told him on Tuesday... ...he's then annoyed with me on Saturday (and I hate Craig David) An option to view old conversations with players helped me to keep track of my actions when it was in FM. It was a valuable tool. From the menus in FM23 it doesn't look as if it is in the game again. This Discuss menu is the same as in FM22. Please put it back, SI. You have a player base that is ageing...and possibly getting more senile (can't speak for everyone else but me ). Thankfully you have an option to zoom the page to help old eyes. Please help old memories as well.
  8. Here's another one for the squad planner. I ask my assistant for suggestions for the planner in a position. I get the following message: What is the point of this option if it's going to overwrite what you have done so far? How about the assistant just add names to the list that he thinks are a good option? It doesn't need to remove everyone I have added so far. This option is only good for a blank slate if it's going to wipe a list. We could do with a 'clear list' option tbh though. Not adding players though, just clearing the list. And what is this? I can't click on these, I've not seen them on my lists and there is no scouts opion column
  9. The Squad Planner So I've been messing with the new squad planner and I have some thoughts 1) Adding players offers no insights on them. Above, I am trying to add right backs to my planner. That's just a list of names and I can just select one at a time to add to the planner. At least give me the little "i" symbol to see a player's stats. I'd also like to be able to add more than one player at a time. 2) Give the user some ability to adjust the colums on the squad planner, and give me a visible way to rate my player Firstly, the columns on the squad planner page need to be adjustable in the same way as views on the squad page. I might like to add average rating or goals, for example. Every manager has a different grading criteria for their players. I'd also like to see some way to rate my players. In past FMs I have used nicknames for youth players. MY suggestion is to have something like this as a column on the squad planner page, as below; It is a quick, at a glance, guide to how I rate a player. The choice column can do that but it's vague. First choice could be miles ahead of choice 2 or marginally better but that's not identifiable. A star rating that I, as manager, can assign to my players would be simple and effective and highlighting whom I deem best in my squad and how far behind my alternate options are. There could also be a possibility to add alternate positions for a player too, for example add a tag that shows a player on my DR list is also choice 1 on my DL list. Let me add a blank row too, something to signify that I want a new player for that position and where he would fit in my plans...and this is if I don't yet have a name. 3) I do like that I can add a focus on the squad planner but let me drag that focus down to the roster for a position. This will signify what I suggested above and clearly mark that I want a new player to be first or second choice etc; I know I can add players from my shortlist but if I haven't made up my mind the above signifies that I am looking for a second choice, and it's on my current season plans. If I want to put names in from my shortlist I can do that on the future plans. I like the squad planner. I think it's the thing I always wanted but never knew so. I've seen a lot of people say they used to make notes on paper. I was never organised enough and I would often lose track of my top player wants. I've asked for better notes in FM and this is sort of that, in a much different form. I also have a poor memory so having the ability to put a scouting focus on to my grading list of players will remind me I've, a) set the focus, and, b) remind me what plans I had. Just some thoughts. I may have gone overboard but I just think there's a good start here that can be improved.
  10. In the screen above I have selected yellow cards on the right. In past FMs I could select other fields and move them up or down together. In FM23 I can only select one field. Perhaps it is intention - as moving multiple fields could cause issues from time to time. I thought I'd report it in case it is not intentional. I have created a new view by copying an original default view. It is the copy I am trying to customise.
  11. Dafuging the tallest spire in the land This might end up being a bit Plain, which is why I'm not doing a full write up, but I thought I'd try my hand at and old fashioned Dafuge challenge for the beta. I don't plan to start a full save until after beta and will wait for the first patch and maybe some add on leagues. My ancestors are from Downton, just south of Salisbury. They probably saw the tallest cathedral spire in England from their homes or farms. When I saw Salisbury come up I decided it had to be my team. Dunno how far I'll get. I'm also enjoying Satisfactory a lot lately. Will see how I enjoy the game. Team is full of former Bournemouth youth players and a 16 year old keeper. That will be my priority. Brandon Goodship is a good striker for this level (and one I had lasts eason when I started with Weymouth) and I'll build a team around him and Antonio Diaz, a solid player in midfield. Josh Wakefield is former Bournemouth and quality in midfield too. Defence needs some real work.
  12. I don't have a club yet - I'm holidaying to try the dafuge challenge in beta - but I was looking through what happened in the first season and came across this screen: It's a really small thing but I really, really like what has been done to polish up this screen. Probably will be more that I find that I like but this will do for now. People are talking about FM23 not having enough new features but I am happy to pay for polish and this is polish I like. I think the pie chart showing the split is a nice idea. The only thing I don't like? Bournemouth sold Lerma to Leicester! Blasphemy.
  13. Possibly a reputation error. My FM22 game had a Jamaican manager named Donovan Dickie given too high a reputation and he ended up managing in the Championship. Can you see their stats? Report it in the relevant player errors thread...if they look too good. They can investigate them. https://community.sigames.com/bugtracker/football-manager-2023-early-access-beta-bugs-tracker/database-and-research/north-america-data-issues/ Can't think why else it would pick those players up.
  14. February 2026 - A Month Lacking In Consitency February was frustrating in that we just couldn't put together any form, nor did we meet targets I had aimed for at the end of January. To add to the mixed feelings, we're out of the cup. With a brand new bunch of players I went into out first match of February, away to Preston, with optimism. Juranovic was disappointing, as was Gelhardt, and we failed to turn home a number of chances. Preston took the lead from the penalty spot and we equalised from the spot, Lewis Morgan getting a late equaliser. We lost one of the best players in the squad, Guillermo Granero, to injury after another poor tackle on the Spaniard. Then came a run of two defeats. The first was a 1-0 loss at Luton in the cup. It was a really lacklustre performance in which not one player on my team shone. Juranovic was truly dire, Gelhardt little better and Robertson marginally better than that. Up second was my old Wycombe team and I really felt I had to win or be humiliated and my move to Blackburn be put in question. Wycombe were on a slide down the table under Duckie but they put us to the sword with a second minute penalty to win the game. Again, we had more than enough chances to win the game. Our finishing needs to be better. Pring was the man to put in a truly dire performance this time out and I had words with the left back after the game. In a busy month we were suffering bruises. Having to rotate heavily, we faced Blackpool next in a game we really had to win. Again we we created bundles of chances but it took a late, late penalty from Dack to give us the much needed win I craved. Mijovic was the first of my new signings to put in a really good performance and it would be a sign of things to come. We enjoyed a well earned week off before we next faced top club Norwich at home. Following on from the Blackpool win we started strongly but fell a goal down against the run of play. That really spurred the lads on and we found ourselves 2-1 up before the half hour mark. Two new signings combined for the first goal, Roberston putting Mijovic through on goal with a lovely ball. Our second was a strange own goal prodded home by Loftus-Cheek. It wasn't to be though as Norwich scored in a slow second half to rescue a point. I will take a point against a good side though. Could we follow up a good point against the eladers by going to Brentford and getting a result? The answer would be no despite a great start. Mijovic opened the scoring with his second goal in two games but Brentford finished the better team to grab all three points. Just as a player hits form it seems injury rears its ugly head. This was the case with Mijovic in this game. We also lost Juranovic to injury and saw another poor performance from Gelhardt. We need to see more from Joe. Up last in a busy month were our FA Cup conquerors, Luton. The Hatters have been struggling and I wanted revenge for the cup game and a win to take in to March. We got the three points but it couldn't have been later. We bossed the game and had so many chances again. I was getting desperate near the end and pushed the lads forward. Fortounis, who has come back in to the side recently, showed he can play football and sent across a lovely ball for Nyambe to finsih at the far post. The time? 94 minutes. We keep finding ourselves on the verge of fighting for a play off spot only to then blow it with inconsistency. Hopefully that lucky - it was - late win at Luton can fire us on to a late challenge. Elsewhere... English Premier League The end of February sees Arsenal top in England and Everton still going great in second place. Newcastle have risen to see the usual suspects of City, Chelsea and Liverpool further down the table. Manchester United are still struggling down in 9th and Spurs have only managed to rise to 11th. Bournemouth are four points above the drop zone but still in 17th. This is after a terrible February for Dyche that saw the Cherries knocked out of the cup and lose to Newcastle and Arsenal. The cup game hadbeen against Arsenal so we'll let the club off seeing as how they faced the top three in England. In League One Derby are flying as we head in to the final run in. Behind them there is quite a battle for the other promotion place and the play offs. In League Two Fleetwood have opened up a five point gap but there are still quite a few teams battling for the play offs. At the foot of the Football League, Barnet are struggling to maintain their league status with an eight point gap to safety. Euro Leagues in the big leagues across Europe Bayern, Porto and Inter are looking most secure. Inter top Serie A by eight points, Porto top Liga Bwin by eleven points and Bayern head the Bundesliga by a massive fifteen points. PSG trail Monaco in France and Lyon are just behind. It's looking like a tight run in in Ligue 1. We'll stay a little closer to home for this month's guest league and look at the Danske Bank Premiership in Northern Ireland. Linfild have a four point lead over Larne with Glenavon just another point behind. Former Club Watch Wycombe Wanderers We've already seen Wycombe this month as they toppled us early in February. It has been an otherwise poor month for the Chairboys. Only a 2-2 draw at home to Millwall meant they didn't lose every other game in February. Duckie clearly needs to do better. The side have slid down the league to 17th but they should be safe. Weymouth Weymouth had a pretty good February, losing just once and gaining nine points to see them go in to March in 12th. The play offs are not out of the question for the Terras. Home town club Poole had a better month but are still bottom and seven points from safety. March... March is much quieter than February with just four games. I need to see better from Gelhardt and Juranovic and can hopefully see the return of Mijovic as well as a possible outside chance of seeing Granero. March's toughest game will be home to Fulham but I think we can get ten points from these four games if we perform as I know we can. Join me next month to see if we are any closer to making a bid for a late play off challenge. I do aim to finish this season but am wondering if that will be it for FM22. It depends on the FM23 features. When they're announced. That being said, I'm still not finding a lot of time for midweek FM. Satisfactory also released a new update and that's very much a favourite game of mine. I'll try to be back next week.
  15. You get a holiday for the footy? Doubt we'd even get one if England win the World Cup. They'd say 'you already have Christmas day of, what more do you want?' Give Truss a few weeks and we'll probably have less public holidays still.
  16. Don't know, tbh. I can't see those channels on my planner for some reason. It possibly is as the rows are off. But, check your planner. There are a lot of channels, defo Sky ones, showing the funeral
  17. Yeah, should have done! The Alf Garnet joke was an afterthought though. Sometimes one can over-gif Sometimes when I read twitter I feel like this.
  18. Can always watch The Emoji Movie on C5. There are channels with normal coverage. Just surprised me how many are changing. I'll be in bed anyway...working that night. Even though I might have been supportive of some of this I doubted I'd ever sit to watch a funeral. Was surprised my work let me have the night off. Don't know that anyone knows that tbf
  19. No, but I hear they have a busty blonde presenting the Memoriam program...she's taking calls still.
  20. Okay, sometimes I have to admit I was wrong about some things, and as I know people have enjoyed admonishing me, this will come as a great shock. Someone on discord posted an image and it surprised me. Yes, the funeral is on adult channels. That's a bit bizarre. Looking through my planner I see all Sky channels; sport or entertainment, have the funeral. BBC1, BBC2, ITV and C4 have associated programs until 5 and the BBC then shows Paddington 2. Even Challenge and Pick seem to be breaking away to cover the funeral. I still stand by some things I've said but it doesn't need to be on every channel. I'm now half expecting Netflix and Prime to stop allowing streams except the funeral now. BT Sports are sticking to their schedule though. I don't blame the family...this is the TV. Also no harm closing shops for a day but I've believed all along that people should have a choice at home. I'd just assumed it'd be the main channels. People pay a sub for Sky, and it's not cheap. Good news though...Gold are showing Alf Garnet.... ...no, not really.
  21. Thanks. I was delighted to get the Celtic pair for so laughably cheap. Most of the players I looked at were in the millions. Celtic's loss, my gain.
  22. I get the point, pal. I know why people say what they do. Just think there's a time and a place
  23. And that's Charles' doing, is it? Might wanna look towards the fat cat bosses, the Tory liars who allow fat cat bosses to get rich. I'm not avoiding the subject of whether the royals should have the money, or not. I personally think it was wrong that Charles avoided inheritance tax. I think there'sa time and a place for stuff like that. In his face is not one, not now. I'm sure he'll cope. Just people talk of respect and fair treatment and it's condone when someone shouts abuse in the face of a man beareved. Maybe I am old. Maybe I act older than some but I wonder what became of "treat others as you yourself would like to be treated". There's right to be heard, right to protest. Right to be an insufferable berk? Not gonna push it but I did think that was too far.
