No, I mean in the sense that the league ceases to exist. Like, if the Premier League ran until 2025 and was then replaced by the Super League or something.

What's interesting is that the group that disappears doesn't become extinct - it's simply unused. Which could be useful to you. Someone did Macedonia (I think) and went from 2 groups to just one, using the same child comp system except that at the end there was only one group left.

  2. I also have this problem with my continental competitions.
It has to do with registration.
One solution is to simply use "Match Squad Rules" rather than "Overall Squad Rules" and avoid all registration dates. It's not perfect, but you can always insist on having only 3 non-EU players, or a minimum of 8 homegrown players on the team sheet, for example.

  3. Yes. To do this, you'll have to create a hidden stage (or not) that takes the form of a league that brings together the teams from the two groups and takes all the teams' points into account.
I'll post you a screen shot as soon as I can.

EDIT: On the last screen in the red box, don't pay any attention to the competition name (it's a test I used to do with extinct competitions).
    Just enter your division.

  4. think you should be able to do that in "add stage rules". In my opinion, there are several things you'll have to define, such as what happens if the same team wins both phases and probably other small details.

Sorry. It seems to me that this kind of system exists in the Colombian second division. Take a look, there might be your answer. You'll find what you're looking for at stages 0 and 6 in Qualification Rules, then at stages 7 and 8 in Fate Actions.

Would creating Europe as if WW1 and WW2 never happened fit with your vision of the file?
The Austro-Hungarian dual-monarchy where football was already a big thing (which eventually culminated in the austrian "Wunderteam" being the first team from continental europe to beat Scotland in the 1930s further down the line), Prussia/The german monarchy, subsequent different borders for France and Italy, polish territory being part of either Germany or Russia/Soviet Union and so on.

It might certainly be controversial to some, but as someone with an interest in history it would be a dream come true for me to see this in FM. Depending on how far you go this could tie into your point about colonialism as well, although I don't mind going either way with that one between entirely omitting it and keeping it as if it was still in place today.

Seeing how you were thinking 1800s, you could go even further back (although it makes what is now Germany quite a bit more complicated), with Prussia, the small german state-states, the Habsburg monarchy, the Ottoman empire, France, a not yet united Italy with the kingdom of naples or the Kingdom of the two Sicilies

I think in Super League style it would be something different from anything else out there and it would be really interesting to set up and play!

  6. Thank you for your reply @magicmastermind124

    I don't understand what you're saying.
When configuring a game I select my files then I select the nations I want to be active but when I have to choose a league to select a team to manage I only have the choice of France (in this case) but it's the same if I configure a game without France then I only have England as a possible choice and so on.

What's more, my custom continental cups are not taken into account. It's the SI ones that rotate. But when I simply select my continental cups without a nation then they are taken into account...

  7. Hello,
I would like to know if anyone has any ideas because I have a problem with certain files.

I have modified some national championships (squad registration) and they pass the editor test without any problem but when I launch a game they are greyed out and therefore impossible to select.
And they also "cancel" my custom continental cups, even though they work perfectly well on their own.

I thought I'd read something about this but I can't find it.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear from you.

  8. Thank you so much!
I'm right in the middle of it. I'm trying to recreate what existed in France from the end of 1890 until about 1914 when there was already a sort of French championship where everything started with a sort of Regional Series and then a national final phase (Championnat de France USFSA).
At the very beginning, it was mainly Parisian clubs that were involved, but then it opened up to the whole of France.

    Very good job !

Is your file in Basic Rules normal?
This way there are no error messages.

    1) On the other hand, as there is no winner at the moment, your Super Cup will have to be postponed to start in 2024. To do this, you'll have to switch to Advanced Rules.

    2) Another problem you'll undoubtedly encounter is the risk of having teams qualified in other continental competitions appear in your CWC.

For this kind of file, I think you'll have to switch to Advanced Rules in any case.

Edit: Your schedule is pretty tight too, in the group phase you have 7 games in less than a month.
Then for the elimination rounds in 12 days you have 5 matches, which can also cause scheduling conflicts.

  10. @Caokrodilo You also have to organise the calendar well because there are a lot of matches. I do something like that, so what I've done is to rework the domestic divisions so that we have a maximum of 30 matches. That leaves a bit of leeway for the secondary leagues. In total, the ideal would be to have around forty matches. Then there are the national and continental cups. You could quickly end up with more than 60 matches.
As @themodelcitizen said, there's also the whole Pro/Real system that needs to be set up individually for the secondary leagues. It requires patience, but it's a good challenge!

Study the structure of the Brazilian SI championship - it's very interesting. You can also copy and paste the championships that interest you.
Personally, I use different files for each championship and when they work I import them into my main file. That avoids error messages. Basically step by step.

Two - I created a 10-tier custom database for Korea, but the bottom 4-tiers are a mixture of amateur and reserve teams. I need these leagues to *exist* but is there a way I can make them unplayable? So that taking the database and starting a new game you'd only have the option to manager at Tier 6 or above?

Yes, by ticking view only. Take a look at French National 2.
