  1. Can anyone help me with this issue? I have been through the rules and there is no "maximum of 12 teams" anywhere. The maximum is set at 21. I don't know where else to look.
  2. Still working on it. Need to fix an issue with teams in League1 Ontario before I can test.
  3. I will backup my file and have a look and see what I can do. I will let you know what happens. It won't make much difference if I have to move League2 above U-Sports though.
  4. I do it in advanced rules. I'm just curious as to whether or not League2 has to be directly below or not. I haven't added the leagues in yet, I'm just waiting for the rest of the teams to be announced before I add them in. They are due to start this year though.
  5. When putting divisions at a level on the pyramid, does the division that a team gets relegated to/promoted from have to be directly below? For example, at present, my Canadian database is set up as CPL, L1, L1OC, U-Sports, CCAA. But, once the League2 leams are announced, I need to place League2 Ontario and League2 Alberta on the pyramid. Can I have League2 below the CCAA, or does it have to be below League1? If it has to be directly below, that will cause problems as League1 Ontario Championship (which will have relegation to League2 Ontario) isn't on the same level as League1 Alberta which has relegation to League2 Alberta.
  6. Someone actually made a skin that wouldn't show any faces or iconfaces for FM23. They may be doing it again for FM24, take a look in the graphics section of the forum. This is the skin:
  7. I am having an issue with some leagues on my custom database and I was directed here. Basically, I have activated U-Sports in Canada which plays across one level on the pyramid. However, after the first or second season, teams switch divisions and sometimes switch to a totally different competition. For example, I can have a university in Ontario, playing in the Ontario U-Sports league for 2 seasons, but in the third season, they will switch leagues for no apparent reason. I have even seen teams moving to, again for example, the MMSL which isn't even part of U-Sports. I should also add that there is no promotion or relegation in U-Sports and there wasn't any in the divisions outside of the U-Sports leagues that the teams moved to, so I don't know if anyone in here can help me. Regional boundaries were also set and I had also ticked "do not reorganise teams" in the editor (FM23). I am unsure what to do this year as the options are slightly different.
  8. The changes should be in here.
  9. I had the same issue with my FM23 file. I was able to change the name of reserve teams that I had created (or ore existing ones, I can't remember which), but I needed to make a change to the editor in order to do it. I think I ended up creating affiliates in the end.
  10. But when I had this set up in an older file, there was no promotion or relegation. And I noticed earlier that the options are slightly different in the editor this year.
  11. Are there any plans to add League2 Ontario starting in 2024 once the teams have been announced? I think there are only 3 teams announced so far (with Toronto FC rejoining L1O after acquiring Pickering FC's Championship license).
  12. Can anyone explain how to set this up correctly? In an older file (FM23 I think), I tried fixing teams into divisions as per real life, but they would still end up moving divisions. I set regional boundaries with the help of another user on the forum, but the teams would still move and neither of us could work out why. More often than not, it would be after the second season and, on the rare occasion, they would move to a totally different competition. Basically, I was activating U-Sports in Canada and the leagues are provincial. However, after a season or 2, I would see teams move, for example, from the Ontario U-Sports division to the Manitoba Major Soccer League. That results in the team moving to not only a different provincial competition, but an entirely different level on the pyramid.
  13. I forgot to ask, is this in basic or advanced rules that I do this?
  14. Brilliant! Thanks, to both you and @rusty217
  15. And that won't have any effect on the rules that are already in place for league 1 and above?
  16. It isn't a blank canvas, it is just for the leagues that I am adding. Basically, I've expanded Canada past League 1. So there is about 30 more leagues added.
  17. So you open the FM23 file in the FM24 editor, copy the advanced rules, open the FM24 file in the FM24 editor and then paste?
  18. Interesting. So, if I was to create all the leagues required, I could then copy the rules over from the FM23 file using the method you just mentioned? I always find adding the rules tedious, especially when there is almost 30 leagues to do them for.
  19. How do you copy and paste? Is that opening the xml and copying them from there?
  20. OK, it's just that I wanted to add what I had on an FM23 file to one I have been working on for FM24. As there is a lot of leagues added, the advanced rules take time and I just wondered if they could be copied.
  21. If I was to merge a file from FM23 with FM24, do the advanced rules carry over or do I need to add them again? Stupid question, I know, but I've not done much editing for a while.
  22. Will take a look. Thanks. How did you navigate continental qualification? I believe, in real life, it's league winner and championship winner (or top two if the same team wins both).
  23. Would it be possible for it to start later though? I've got 8 expansion sides which would accommodate a split, I would need to navigate Ontario though as they have a number of teams. With your file, how have you set fixtures up? Do East play east twice and then West once or something like that? And how hard is it to use a combined table?
  24. OK, this may get a little confusing so I will try and explain it as best I can. Is it possible to have a league (I this instance, Canadian Premier League) expand to double the number of teams (8 to 16) over a period of 4 years and then, after the league has 16 teams, split the league into 2 conferences? Should this be possible, my next question would be, can I see how the MLS is set up with regards to fixtures and have a combined league somehow? Finally, should my first question be possible, would there be any knock on effect with regards to continental qualification?
  25. How do you create these? I have seen files popping up and an option to "use real fixtures" when starting a new save, but I have no idea how to create them.
