  1. I think this one is going the distance. Score draw and then either an extra time win or a penalty shootout. Hopefully a right cracker to get us started.
  2. Yeah, Japan v Croatia I wouldn't have down as that much of an upset. Likewise Switzerland beating Portugal or USA beating Netherlands Think one of the big boys will slip up somewhere though. Maybe Morocco to beat Spain. Can't see Poland getting past France but you never know. Poland have got to turn up sooner or later, and even with Mbappe on the pitch France conceded goals against both Australia and Denmark.

  4. I tried to watch the “controversial penalty denial” back and it didn’t even make the BBC highlights reel, that’s how controversial it was.
  5. Oh yeah, Switzerland can concede and still go through Seb still telling us it will “help Cameroon”. It won’t.
  6. If Swiss concede Cameroon go through on goals scored I think
  7. Second yellow for taking his shirt off imagine if Cameroon squeeze through now and he can’t play
  8. Yeah on goals scored, would be level with Switz on four points and 0GD
  9. Back at Stadium 974, coincidentally that’s how many times ITV are going to tell us it’s made out of shipping containers.
  10. Switzerland can make do with a point only if Cameroon don’t beat Brazil by two goals. Wouldn’t rule anything out after the last couple of nights In fact, Cameroon could beat Brazil by one goal and go through on goals scored if Serbia-Switz is a draw. Or if Serbia win but only by one goal.
  11. I mean this is literally why you take a draw against the best team in your group
  12. imo, just shows how much more evenly matched different teams are at international level... compared to 15-20 years ago. Quick look back at 2006 you had 11/32 teams that failed to win any of their games This year you've got 5-6 max., and that's only if Serbia and Cameroon lose later. Could be as low as four, and then 28/32 have won at least once.
  13. Harsh on Ghana, they were the only team in that group that had a proper go in all three games. Uruguay have only got themselves to blame. Only one shot on target all game in their opening 0-0, ends up costing them later.
  14. Didn't want Uruguay to win, but actually Uruguay winning and still going out is even better
  15. Haha, Uruguay just gone ahead of South Korea on yellow cards. Imagine if Suarez and his shithousing gets them knocked out
  16. Ghana FFS. I was convinced they would get past Uruguay this time. To be fair though, you miss the worst penalty in the history of the World Cup and you deserve to get punished.
  17. Paulo Bento leads South Korea against his home country. "How many times has someone managed at the World Cup against their own nation?" I hear you cry. Well fear not. I have looked this up so that you don't have to: I guess people remember Queiroz, Klinsmann, Eriksson etc. But down the years a lot more common that you might think.
  18. Has Aluko ever watched a World Cup before? Seems genuinely mystified because a couple of big teams have gone out, even though the other eight or nine have basically coasted through. Just so so bad. At least we didn’t have Matterface on commentary.
  19. Christ almighty ITV, this is a car crash Just go back to the best England goals
  20. Pougatch Introduces Peter Walton then talks non-stop so he has nothing left to say.
