Unfortunately that doesn't work. I don't have any squad selection dates enabled.

I've had a quick look at the file and the only thing I've managed to do is get the date to change by adding a squad selection deadline date under Fixture Rules 2. That was pretty much useless though. I have no idea what is causing the problem. Have you tried undoing the changes you made in regards to getting qualified teams for cups and gradually adding the rules back one at a time? That way you might be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

I just change the dates from the original from 9/6 to 25/6 but they don't change in game, when the January transfer window gets the change (from 2/1 to 1/1). Other nations (that don't have the know validation problem) get the change I make them. And I am afraid to just delete everything cause of all those different parameters in the English pyramid.

If you upload the file I'll take a look at it for you

For some reason a similar error pops up in FM20 for me now as well. Hadn't seen it before.

The solution for me is actually quite easy....

You delete the competition that is giving the error. You verify the file. Then you restore the deleted competition. At that moment you DON'T need to verify the competition anymore and everything works.

I tried doing that but had to save the file to test/verify it and I wasn't able to undo the removal of the competition. I'm guessing I followed the process wrong though lol. Didn't you mention something about loading the database back up with changes applied in another post?

  4. I had the same problem guys. In advanced rules you need to go to Ranking Rules > Ranking Level Info and make sure to give the teams eliminated from the opening round a ranking.

For example in my file I had 32 teams in the opening round, and the 16 winners of that round had a ranking of 9. The losers are ranked 10 with "No Information" under "Type". However I had the number of teams set at 0 instead of 16 which was why I had the error popping up. It wasn't an issue last year but it is in the FM21 editor.

@Bryanquaye15 Looking at the error you're getting you'd need to either add a row containing 3 losing teams, or if you have one already for them change the number of teams from 0 to 3.

    Hope this helps

  5. @Wolf_pd @Xavier Lukhas I figured out what the problem was. The Ranking Level Info had 0 teams in the first round. For some reason it still verified with that setting in FM20.

Now I've got the Bulgarian First League problem with 1 team relegated and 2 promoted with 0 extra teams requested. It's telling me to make sure the league is set to flexible rules but I don't think I can do that. Still won't verify.

Check if you don't have missing rules/modifications due to importing. I had that issue.

Alternatively, I heavily suggest exporting the files to .xml and comparing the differences in any decent text editor that has such a function. I use VSCode, but there are other less fancy (and heavy) options. Here's an example: every difference sticks out like a sore thumb and can be spotted using the sidebar.

Thanks. I'll have a look and see what I can find

Also if it's a group, "league stage stadium 1" will pick a home stadium from one of the participating teams (unless a stadium is set on the competitions tab with a specific league stage set beside it).  Can be useful

Nice. Thanks a lot for the tip

I think I may have found what was causing the problem to begin with as well. I had the host nations listed under "Possible Host Nations" instead of "Host Nations" lol. Doh!

Haha I'm not entirely sure to be honest. If you want, just set every round/group date to an offset with a specific time and stadium, that should be foolproof.

I don't think I've used stadium pool, just this method or doing a list of stadia under "stadiums for fixture" on the competition tab (FM18 and 19) which I believe corresponds to either "neutral stadium" or "league stage stadium" if that's specified. That can rotate by year, I may be wrong about what I said above needing to include it in every edition.

Sometimes I wish the coders would just give us a manual or something

also I believe the inimitable @Dave Fairbairn has clarified that stadium_0 through 12 correspond to the biggest available in the host country

Cheers for the reply. I'm gonna do a bit of trial and error with that and see if I can do this without breaking it lol. It seems like there are so many different routes to take, getting the right combination can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

If you're using neutral stadia and setting them in the stadia list in the competition, instead of just using "specific stadium" with offset dates for every round, then both versions will need a full list.

i.e., the Qatari 2019 version will show the Khalifa Stadium or whatever with year 2019 and rotating every 2 years, and also it will show Wembley with 2020 rotating every 2 years. (England 2020 will also show the Qatari stadia)

I believe "host nation" does not use this, though, and the Qatari 2019 version would only show Qatar as "host nation". Same for England 2020 with England.

    Make sense?

Under "Stadium Rules" I've got Qatar listed as the host nation for 2019 but I left the host stadium pool on that page empty, and instead filled out the stadium list in the "Stadium Pool" page. I then applied the same in the England competition for 2020. Is that wrong?

lol I know it's stupid, I guess you could do a 10x version of a far less complex qualifier - i.e., a "Club World Cup qualifier" competition that would just take the "get last winner" from your league in question and add a history record with that team. Then in your Club World Cup just "get last winner" from the created CWC qualifier competition (like how some Super Cups don't add the stage if the same team won both league and cup, but adds a history record with that team anyway)

Definitely possible, though I think I'm starting to lean towards a bunch of duplicates. As you said it may be easier when configuring stadiums to use etc. Thanks for the help, bud

Worst case scenario, when you're done editing make multiple versions that rotate every few years and just tell it to "get last winner" from that specific league (J-League, Stars League etc), maybe with "runner-up as back-up" if needed (assuming "last winner" of AFC Champions League is a higher spot). This method is onerous but allows for more control over specific stadia, format tweaks per specific year etc

    Thanks for the reply.

Is this the only possible method? I mean that would definitely work but I'd probably have to create around 10 different versions that rotate every 10 years or so to accommodate all of the host nations lol.

Premier League teams start a round later than the rest?

Yeah so with the revamp I did I added an extra round. The bottom 8 teams in the PL enter at round 3, while the top 16 PL teams enter at round 4.

Having had another look at it, it seems the only players that are registered as having made an appearance in the EFL Cup are the ones on the competition overview page (top scorers, assists etc).
