(CM/FM legends included) (4 Legendary Managers, 371 Legendary Players and counting!) Why is it NOT your ordinary legends database you may ask? Well the simple answer is that only the oldest of the old will be in their prime! THINK VIVIAN WOODWARD! This database is different because you will need to play the game as you normally would in order to get these players up to scratch! Alongside needing to train up these legends, you will also find with some of the younger ones that their potential can vary from game to game. Ever wondered what a 200 PA Teddy Sheringham would look like? Who knows, you may find out! Ever wanted a blast from the past? Install the CM/FM Legends pack and play with a whole host of CM & FM legends who probably never made it! On a serious note, some of you may recognise me from FM23 Past, Present & Future legends. Unfortunately that one never got off the ground properly. However it did provide me with a leg up for this, especially with the CM/FM Legends. This is an ongoing project, but unlike last year, I will be releasing my work in batches and in fact, this has already taken place! Without further delay, below you will find the players ready for download from Steam workplace and the relevant information on the players you can expect to find! I have used a specific criteria to determine the age of a player, with the basic gist of it being that the older they are in real life, the older they will be in game. So someone like Vivian Woodward (27 I believe?) for example will be one of the older players, whilst someone like Wayne Rooney (17 I believe?) will be much younger. Q. Which clubs do the players play for? A. I have taken the age that I've set the player at and compared it with real life. They will play for the club they played for in real life at their current age. The idea is to be different to your usual Legends databases, where normally you would already have your team set up for you. In this case, you build your own team by purchasing the legends and playing Football Manager as you normally would. Q. How good are the players? A. Their current ability will be determined by their age. I don't know for sure, but I think generally players stop developing for the most part once they hit 23 years of age. With this in mind, players aged 23+ will be much closer to their PA, whilst the younger players like Jermaine Defoe and Ledley King will be around 140 CA. Another factor for their CA is how big of a legend they were in this beautiful game. For instance Wayne Rooney will be higher than Jermaine Defoe and Ledley King due to what he achieved, sitting around the 150 CA mark. Q. Are there any facepacks? A. Yes, you will find the facepack download alongside the legends download! Make sure to get them to enjoy the best experience! Q. Can I ask for specific players to be added? A. Yes of course you can. It actually helps me when people recommend players, because this database isn't just for myself, it's for everyone to use and if adding players you want makes you want to use the database, then I'm all for it! All I would ask is for your patience as this database is a work in progress and some days can be slow to none existent in terms of spare time, whilst others I'll have more spare time. I work a full time job and have a wife, so everything is a balancing act Q. How far will you go with this legends database? A. There is no set amount of players that I will add, so with that in mind, we could say 2,000+ players. When I do the legends, I try to put in a bit of research into their playing style so I can attempt to replicate that in their stats which is why it takes so long. I've never created a facepack, so it will be something for me to learn. I may even give it a shot today when I take a break from creating legends. As for compatibility, I don't see why it would be an issue considering all I'm doing is editing existing retired players and creating players that don't exist within the current database. I'm sticking with the exact same idea as my failed attempt last year. I don't want this to be the same as every other legends database out there. I want it to be unique and for the user to play the game as they would do normally. The attributes they have now - 17 year-olds Wayne Rooney and Cherno Samba for example, or 15-year-old Ryan Gauld - even Michael Duff at Cheltenham, are world-beating as they stand. Would it not be better to have their starting CA/attributes average or a bit above average for their ages and levels but with stupendously high PA, Ambition, Professionalism and Determination to encourage them to develop to a world-beating standard in time? If you want the complete experience, definitely hold off until I've released more of the major Nations and players. At some point I did want to go back through the work that I've done and adjust things for sure. Not only adjusting CA and PA, but also picking up on mistakes. I've already noticed one with Gordon Banks for instance, his attributes are messed up because I most likely didn't set his CA. As for the Hidden stats like Ambition and Professionalism, I've replicated those stats in a lot of cases from earlier FM/CM data where available. Wayne Rooney most likely came from FM2009 which is an editor I've used a lot. As there are that many players, I can always go through them in my editor and tweak for my own satisfaction. I see on Steam you do add more and more players as you go along. Unfortunately when it comes to adding players into the game of varying nationalities, if you don't load specific Nations, sometimes players will be missing. However, the majority should be in there. (External Link) NOT your ordinary Legends database! (Steam Workshop Download) I have moved away from individual databases for Nations and merged everything together! Why have I done this? The one and only reason is because I want you all to enjoy the facepacks! Unfortunately it was impossible to do the facepacks with the individual databases as the Unique ID's were clashing. Having merged everything, I have now also completed the facepack! Moving forward I will be releasing updates to database and facepack simultaneously, so you will never be with a greyed out player! On a side note, I apologise for the slow progress of late, I have unfortunately been unwell, but I'm now on the mend again! I have been working on adding several new legends to the database, moving away from adding Nation by Nation and instead just adding players that come to mind. I have updated the official post with new links and information on the new players added. If you think this update is good, just wait until you see the next one! I'll be looking to add 50 new legends in the next update, focusing on big Nations such as Germany, Italy, France and Netherlands, whilst adding in a couple from other Nations as well. Haha, don't worry I'll be adding plenty from those countries that don't seem to be represented yet, this database is only in its early days that's for sure. The reason it turned out this way is because until last week, I was building the database differently. I was doing individual nation databases and starting out with the big European Nations along with Brazil and Argentina for obvious reasons. However, now I'm literally just adding any legend from any Nation starting with the biggest names from history according to wikipedia. If anything it gives me a little bit of help with who to add next. It is true though that adding 20 players is not easy, it's very time consuming, especially when I work 45 hours a week and have a wife, I'm sure I don't need to say anything other than wife for you to understand that problems with that haha. I build this database literally in my spare time. The older a player in real life, the harder it is to add them to the game as well, due to the lack of information on them and I sometimes feel a bit silly just adding random stats in for them, but what can you do! I think the best thing to do is add almost all the players I want to add and then go back through the database, doing some heavier research into individuals and update their stats that way. It won't change anything of the current database That isn't something which I'm familiar with, I'm pretty novice when it comes to editing databases in fairness. However, I had no idea how to make facepacks until I tried it, so I may actually try future_regen. If I do, I'll most likely use it to bring through current players from the database along with future legends, I think that would add a massive dimension to this database.
