  1. Did you go this far down the leagues in Austria as well? Since you mentioned it before. I'm already buzzing! It's definitely quite the hassle for Germany with the lack of information, but I can only agree with Jorgen - don't make it too much of a hassle for yourself unless it's necessary for you to tell the story the way you want to! (Also, dynamic relegation/dynamic division size really is a hassle, it has always been my personal nemesis and the reason why I never did Austria down to Level 6)
  2. Absolutely incredible work, amazing! I'd love to see some Austrian legends added because I'm austrian and we actually have a rich history and high cultural standing of football despite our small size, so I'll recommend some and perhaps they peak your interest as well! First up, we'd have Matthias Sindelar, captain of the Austrian wonder team in the 1930s which was the first team to beat Scotland on mainland Europe and scored high wins against European top teams. He's widely regarded as the best austrian player in the 20th century and called "The Mozart of Football". Next up, I'd love to see one of the most incredible goalscorers in history, Franz "Bimbo" Binder, who scored 1202 goals in 831 matches in total, which puts him amongst legendary strikers such as Pelé, Puskas or Josef Bican. Following this with two more Rapid Vienna legends, there are Gerhard Hanappi, a remarkably versatile midfielder, and Ernst Happel, a defender who helped Austria reach their best ever 3rd place in the 1954 World Cup and later went on to become one of the greatest managers in the game. These I think are some of the Austrian must-haves for a legends database. Some more modern legends would be Hans Krankl, Toni Polster, Herbert Prohaska, Michael Konsel or Didi Kühbauer.
  3. I don't think there is a way to change the prize money in the midst of a savegame I'm afraid. Changes via PGE only apply to new savefiles where you select that database.
  4. Not the game, but the editor certainly feels like they care less and less about with each year. Which is a shame, because at least to me, FM has two MAJOR appeals. One is an ultrarealistic base for simulations and saves, and the other is the magnificent projects the userbase comes up with in the editor. The latter is to be even more appreciated when even very simple edited databases like mine come up with tedious issues after most updates. As for this error in particular, it seems inevitable that it would come up after major updates that do for example add clubs - but luckily it's an error we can also resolve decently well if it's just because of reserve teams in wrong nations/divisions like it's the case for me.
  5. I love this! Did the recent editor update break any of your recent work in a major way?
  6. Looking forward to you releasing this, thanks for doing this.
  7. Not sure how I feel about revised potential abilities, but at the end of the day it's your version and I'm just grateful that you're sharing it! On the one hand I can understand not wanting to have 20, 30, 50 players with a PA of 195+, on the other hand players like Maradona, Pele, Garrincha, Zico, Yashin, Buffon, Best, Di Stefano, Ronaldo Fenomeno, Maldini as well as the likes of Messi and Cristiano from the newer generation are the legends they are and have the standing they have for a reason. Granted, those are probably players you'd have in the 190+ category as it is. And I understand dropping the potential ability of others and have someone like Van Basten or Cruyff quite as high. I just think in that case it's important to also lower the potential of currently existing players in the database, because having someone like Cruyff sit at a PA of 180-185 is fine if there's only a handful of players with 190+, but it's not fine when the likes of Haaland, Mbappe and Neymar far exceed it. Just my two cents here, but at the end of the day you do you! I'm just an excited bystander watching this project grow.
  8. Perfect! Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. For the likes of SAF and Wenger, I think it's an easy choice to have them as managers without trying to take anything away from their careers as players. Their careers as managers just have been so legendary that not having them as managers wouldn't do them justice. Perhaps even moreso because they themselves managed some of the most legendary players/teams of their respective club. When in doubt, I would arguably tend to having people as players, but for the two of them I have no doubt.
  9. Brilliant progress, great work! People are surely gonna be excited to see 16 year old Messi in the database alongside players like CR7 and Ibra. I also think the decision to not go double for people who were successful both as players and managers but rather steer their way towards becoming a manager is correct. Or just doing them straight up as a manager if they weren't AS legendary as a player. To bring up an Austrian example for a legendary manager, Ernst Happel has got to be there (I'm sure dutch people and HSV supporters are gonna agree), but he was also a legendary defender who featured in Austria's best ever result at a world cup (3rd in 1954), so that would be a prime candidate for a player (probably in his mid to late 20s I guess) with a strong inclination to become manager. How are you gonna go about legendary players who are managers right now in the game (Xavi, Zidane, Xabi Alonso,...)? I think taking their current manager versions out and having them as players is the way to go here.
  10. Interesting, because there are pros and cons for every approach. In the end it's down to personal preference. It probably would feel most familiar to people if either the history of immigration - which at times has shaped the culture considerably - to be honored or if an in-between approach was picked. With that said, as this is about historical divergence, depending on what path you decide to go the best solution might be a different one. At the end of the day I will be fine with either, whether you keep New Zealand mostly "english" (with a bit of german, italian, polish,.. sprinkled over) or whether you go more polynesian and Maori and omit some of the second nations present due to immigration. But I'm intrigued to see which way you decide in the end.
  11. Set their contract to run really long, like 2040+ via the editor, then both "Will leave at end of contract" and "Moves to X on Y" (choose one) should work like a charm, at least I've never had them leave. They'll stay at the club and they'll never ask for more money either.
  12. Do I have to go into AR to change the youth rating of a nation? Trying to cause some stronger wonderkids from certain places and feel like I'm blind because I haven't found the option yet. Also, does someone know whether Nation or Based Nation matters more for the intake of a club? EDIT: NVM, I was just blind. It's under "Information" if you edit the nation. Second question still stands, so thank you in advance!
  13. In this savefile, Konyaspor is not selectable to manage. Why is that? AR MRCX ESL Legends final.fmf
  14. I might be I have thoughts about what could be done with other countries as well, but I feel they are fairly basic and stuff you've certainly considered (regions with ambitions for separation and becoming their own nation or former colonies) so I feel like I can contribute the most when it comes to suggestions about Austria and regions that have been historically associated with us/how things could have turned out in another reality. I love what you are doing because there are countless imagineable outcomes for Europe alone, especially if we just look at single wars without considering their consequences and are like "what if some of those changes prevailed?" or "What if that war was won rather than lost?" I've just been reading about the war of the fifth coalition, for example, where France annexed a bunch of territory up to where Croatia is today.
  15. I see! Hoping fixing the issues isn't gonna turn out too tedious for you. Tremendously looking forward to both files, it's been a while since I've been this excited! Some potential changes for Austria could be adding back South Tyrol (to make a combined Tyrol) and/or Trieste which used to be the most important harbor of the empire or to add Győr-Moson-Sopron County and Vas County which were intially meant to go to Austria alongside Burgenland after WW1(Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye) but ended up going to Hungary (Burgenland went to Austria). There could also be a case for an independent Salzburg, but it's quite a small area and the times of it's independence are far back. Alternatively there could be an independent South Tyrol as there have been people trying to initiate just that.
  16. Let's not forget the likes of George Weah, Roger Milla, Abédi Pelé, a young Samuel Eto'o & Didier Drogba as well - and there's so many more, especially if you include recent legends! But I get it, you want your Eintracht to be stacked :P
  17. So, bit of a tricky/odd one because I'm doing a bit of a Frankenstein's monster here. I've taken the FM20 Return of the legends database from davidczv and tried to adapt that player base into my own version of an European Super League I've built in his very database. So far, so good, some fixes done, verified, trying to load the game. Suddenly I am greeted by this: It tells me that it only finds 19 teams for ESL Division B despite it clearly verifying everything with 20 teams in the basic rules. Any idea what could cause this and how I can get around it? Any help or fixed from more experienced users is very much appreciated! AR MRCX ESL Legends.fmf (This one works) MRCX ESL Legends.fmf (This one not so much - just if someone wants to dive into what the issue was) Edit: Right, so always after posting something shows up: I went into AR, it verified just fine there as well, now the error didn't show up. Will go into testing to see if that was all it took to "fix" the issue. Still wonder which club the game had an issue with.
  18. @MichaelNevo This is so reminiscent of this amazing database, which unfortunately was done for the last time in 2020 (afaik). If what you are doing ends up anywhere close to the brilliance this was, you, sir, will be a hero! Especially because we can just migrate databases and take everything to the next FM now.
  19. I agree, getting more excited by the minute! Good point you're making as well. When the WWs happen, the Entente might not buy players from the central powers/the Allied might not do business with the Axis. Then again, the US were very keen to help rebuilding after the war was over, so perhaps this doesn't happen and there's gonna be increased business between the states and Germany in the end. As you say, endless possibilities, and I am all here for it!
  20. Odds on adding Austrian legends? The legendary Franz 'Bimbo' Binder, boasting what was once reported as an unmatched goal per game record, the Austro-czechoslovakian Josef 'Pepi' Bican, who was honored alongside Pelé and Uwe Seeler is the world's best goalscorer, Matthias Sindelar, the captain of the legendary "Wunderteam", Ernst Happel, Gerhard Hanappi or younger legends like Hans Krankl, Toni Polster, Didi Kühbauer, Andreas Herzog, Michael Konsel or Peter Schöttel, and many more (these just to name some of the most important from a country that might be overlooked due to it's size and little significance in recent times)
  21. Would creating Europe as if WW1 and WW2 never happened fit with your vision of the file? The Austro-Hungarian dual-monarchy where football was already a big thing (which eventually culminated in the austrian "Wunderteam" being the first team from continental europe to beat Scotland in the 1930s further down the line), Prussia/The german monarchy, subsequent different borders for France and Italy, polish territory being part of either Germany or Russia/Soviet Union and so on. It might certainly be controversial to some, but as someone with an interest in history it would be a dream come true for me to see this in FM. Depending on how far you go this could tie into your point about colonialism as well, although I don't mind going either way with that one between entirely omitting it and keeping it as if it was still in place today. Seeing how you were thinking 1800s, you could go even further back (although it makes what is now Germany quite a bit more complicated), with Prussia, the small german state-states, the Habsburg monarchy, the Ottoman empire, France, a not yet united Italy with the kingdom of naples or the Kingdom of the two Sicilies
  22. What an amazing file, thank you! I love these sort of things (really looking forward to the day I either find or get skilled enough to create the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy)
  23. I am so looking forward to when this is done, thank you for putting yourself through this! I can see myself playing that file for years and years on end.
