We lost Altidore before the game and he is the only goal threat at the moment.

Pretty happy with our first season.

We are slowly getting the team in the right direction.

 

 

 

The offseason will be spicy.

We still need to trade/transfer a lot of players to finally archieve our goal.

The Supporters Shield is just the same game results but put in to a combined East/West League right? So what is the benefit of winning the Easter and/or Western Conference? Is it just for bragging rights? And then the Supporters Shield winner is the ultimate champion?

Is there a maximum squad size (number of players) or just the wage cap? I do know about the DP being on top of that at least. How many Non-American players can you have in a squad? I need to check how that is different for Canadian clubs too. 

Do MLS matches still get scheduled during International Breaks? That killed my team when I managed there. Do players under a certain age become eligible for those games or only if they're registered for the senior squad?

The Supporters Shield is the Trophy for best regular season record in entire MLS. It is a trophy that is a bit of a curse because the winner usually don't win the playoffs for the actual MLS Title.

Maximum Squad size is 30 players but it is hard to have that many due to wage cap. You can have up to 3 Designated players and a limited number of international players. Depending on how many slots your team owns for that season.

MLS matches sometimes do get scheduled during International Breaks. 

Only players registered to the main MLS team are allowed to play in MLS Matches.

There is Also a US Cup that starts in June or July that is like FA Cup or The DFB Pokal.

Also, there is a Draft for new players during the offseason and no relegation.

Supporters Shield

It combines the Western and Eastern table. Its another title, but it still got some value.

It decides the Superdraft order. For e.g. Minnesota would get the 1st Draft pick.

And the winner gets 1 from 4 Champions League places.

 

Squad / Wage Cap / Foreing Players

Squad Size is always 30. Every player not registered are getting waived/released.

If you got a 2nd team and can keep more players by dropped them to the 2nd team.

 

There is an overall wage cap. This season it was 4,95 mio.

This doenst mean your wage bill is 4,95 mio. There are a lot of contract types, which either dont count to the cap or will count with a specific value.

For e.g.

Designed Player with always count 618k to the wage cap

Reserve or Generation Adidas will never count to the wage cap.

Senior Minimum Salary (SMS) Contract are worth 84,5k, can either count or dont count to the wage cap.

 

With the monopoly money "General Allocation Money" or "Target Allocation Money" you can buy down the cap impact.

If you are able this money the right way, you basicly complete the MLS class.

 

Every MLS team got a specific number of "international slots"

Those slots are also assets. You can trade them away for 1-5 years or even permanent.

At the moment we got 8 permanent slots, this means we can only register 8 non-Americans.

Canadian teams got it a little bit easier.

Canadian players wont count as foreign for them, for American teams they count.

 

If someone really want to learn the MLS, I always recomment to start with Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver.

Your player pool is much bigger.

Sometimes yes.

I think you can all up players from the 2nd team for match day, but I never had the need to do it.

The number one pick is Justin Stubbs.

I normally would pick him too, because he got also a GA contract.

Lets see if we can get our players we want.

Here are our draft picks.

 

I picked Ulysse as our first pick.

I first thought "damn he looks like a decent LB"...He is 193cm with 15 jumping. If we get his heading up, there is a solid CB here.

He is also on a nice GA contract.

 

 

Zamora is a solid inverted winger on the left side.

 

 

Sousa is another solid option on the wing.

 

 

Urbina might be a decent bkacup on the left.

Fullbacks are hard to find.

 

 

 

Marini doesnt look that good now if I look at him correctly.

Cronin is ok.

We got a lot of options on the wing, so we wont miss him.

At the end of the season Gonzalez, Edwards Jr., Reveno and Maciel will leave us 100%.

The MLS structure makes it hard to create Dynasties. AI probably had cap issues with a lot of starters wanting raises at the end of their contracts.

Yeah I noticed that last year too.

One of the big flaws of the MLS implementation in FM.

 

Columbus was finished last place last season and now they are first.
