Do you receive more than one intake preview before the day of the intake arrives? I played FMT this year so I'm not aware.

Just the one, usually at the beginning of December for a March intake.

2048 Youth Intake

Well this is exactly what we were after, three new striker options! A stroke of luck with the different make-up of the intake due to the crash, but sometimes it goes for, somethings against and you've got to roll with it.

Barry is a class act. He's quick, can finish, got a good touch and he's decent in the air. Aggressive and determined, too! I really think he could become our Assale / Vega / Putulyan.

A nice well rounded creative forward - of course he's more of an attacking midfielder but just like Loum he'll be re-trained as a complete forward and deputise for him.

Not quite in the same league as Barry, but Berber will help provide depth up top as an advanced forward. More of a team player.

Ligue 1

A terrible start to 2048 and it felt like it was going to get even worse when Dubois and Loum got long(ish) injuries. Luckily understudy Joseph Enama had his scoring boots on and we've had a decent run since mid-February.

10 games left and a top half finish is looking very likely, as well as an outside chance of Europe. An improvement on last season, but nowhere near the CL qualifying form as our first season in Ligue 1.

Coupe de France

A very disappointing cup campaign. Despite Pau competing in Ligue 2 with us not so long ago they're now struggling in the National 2 (4th tier) and it took a 13-12 penalty win to overcome them. This was followed by an incredibly lacklustre performance in Marseille.

2047-48 Season Review

Latest Results

Two particularly bad results - losing at home to St Etienne and the 6-1 thumping by old club Auxerre - stand out but other than that it was a pretty good end to the season. The highlight was our first ever league victory against PSG, although they had already won the league at that point.

Ligue 1 Table

The draw on the final day vs Nantes was a big blow as it meant we dropped from 6th to 8th when Lens and St Etienne won their games. No European football, but an improvement on last season for sure.

Player Stats

Loum and Paulos were the standout players, while Munsch and Silue had decent seasons and Papon had a good breakthrough season. Enama actually had a good season deputising for the injured Dubois, but I doubt it's something he can maintain so I'm glad we've got the three academy lads ready to breakthrough next season.

Our facilities are the best they can be :D. Next season will be our last in Valence too!

The sale of Kamdem for £20m has really helped our bank balance. Hopefully next season we will qualify for European football again.

First time a foreign side has pinched one of my academy players and he's already got gold stars for PA....could be a star in the making we've missed out on :(

2048-49 Mid-Season Update

Ligue 1 Results

A terrible start to the season saw us in the relegation zone after 3 games, but since then we've been on a nice unbeaten run of 15 games. Getting to the half way point with your only defeats being away to PSG and Lyon is a decent record.

Ligue 1 Table

Very happy with our current league position of 3rd place, let's hope we can keep up the pace. Our cross-city rivals are also putting on a strong display this season and are the most realistic side to put in a title challenge. Dijon sacked their manager Saif-Eddine Khaoui after over six years in charge after their worst half-season in a long time. They've never finish outside the top 3 (and only top 2 once) since Balmont left, so this has been a crushing season for them.

Player Stats

It took a little while for him to hit proper form but we have finally got an out-and-out goalscorer in Ibrahima Barry which has made all the difference in our success. We're at a stage now where keeper Silue is still performing really well between the sticks, but young keeper Valette is seen as the better player. He had a spell playing while Silue had a couple of niggling injuries and he will play in Silue AFCON absence. Will he steal the no.1 jersey from the club legend?

Youth Intake Preview

Well we've gone from struggling for striker prospects to two seasons of trios being presented. Let's see if this batch will be able to unsettle the new partnership of Loum-Barry!

He didn't win it last season, however this is now Paulos' third European Golden Boy award, a great feat considering nobody else has won it more than once!

An unsurprising award for Barry, deservedly bringing home the Revelation of the Year award after having an incredible first few months in senior football.

WTF is going on off the pitch, that's the second determination hit we've had in the squad! He had 18 determination, now 8.....luckily Jacobs is just a backup left back.

Youth Intake 2049

Hmm, a few potential first teamers but overall a bit of a disappointing intake compared to previous seasons.

Mercier is the pick of the bunch. He'll be re-trained as a left winger.

A decent two footed striker who could break into the first team if he lives up to his potential.

Coupe de France

A nice little run to the quarter-finals, spoilt by a home defeat against relegation threatened Brest. Frustratingly PSG were knocked out in the quarters as well. The final is between Dijon and Lens.

Ligue 1 Results

However we have some great news from the league! We've maintained our unbeaten run and racked up 8 wins out of 9.

Ligue 1 Table

10 games left and we're just 4 points off PSG, while we're 4 points ahead of Lyon which is a nice little turnaround.

I'm not sure if it could be called a title race as PSG are 11 points clear with 5 games to go, but it's an interesting overview.

Unfortunately this save has come to an end. Ever since the crash where we ended up with a very different intake to what we were going to have (i.e. ended up with three excellent striker prospects when we didn't have any expected) it's felt a bit hollow to be honest.

I do have one last idea for a save to play around with before FM22.
