Players that followed you to the premier from the Vanarama?

For the first time in my FM history which is since it began I have actually 3 players that followed me from the Vanarama to the PL. Kaylen Hinds, Dion McGhee and Jack Lee .... havn´t heard of any of them in real life and they really aren´t that good but have served me well through the promotions, especially Dion who is the only first team player currently, the others are backup.

My sponsorship has gone down ever since I started at Wrexham so I am getting practically nothing, the board expanded the stadium with 2000 so I now have a 12k seater in the PL. I am very limited in everything and have to make due with the resources presented to me, so it was a pleasant surprise that I actually managed to keep 3 players throughout the save.

Have you had any players who followed you all the way from the Vanarama to play first team football in the PL?

On my FM20 York save I think I only have the 1 player left and he came in as a youngster after my promotion to the Vanarama National. I am impressed you have kept 3, as generally the gulf in quality is just too much for most players. Whenever I've done it before it's always been with quite specialised players who play above their ability would suggest.

My CB came through as a really promising wonderkid who had great decisions and focused defensive attributes. But even he's not really up to the level I need and is struggling to make the bench

Mind you, I didn´t keep them because I wanted to, I simply had no other options even after scouring the market for ages. You are also right, they aren´t good enough for the PL which I knew, I just finished my first season in the PL and barely avoided relegation playing Mourinho ball. None of them shined in any way possible, they are however dirt cheap.

It always means more if you can utilise long serving players. They add more character to your team. Sure you can bring in a couple of generic players but it doesn't mean as much as using a long term club servant who has been there through thick and thin. And anyone investing enough time and effort to get from the bottom to the top is probably invested in their club's story.

Realistically though you'd probably have to be a fallen giant with really good training facilities or buy a previously loaned player for them to be relevant for your club at the different levels.

From conference all the way to the prem and you never got greater sponsorship deals? Wow! Maybe that’s a bug pal?

It got fixed during the transition to my 2nd season in the PL, I checked sponsorship just now  before the friendlies and it is on pair with the other lower teams. Don´t know what though as it´s just a bunch of "general" tabs.

 

What didn´t get fixed is my Stadium, current capacity at 11.500, I asked for an expansion to which they agreed ..... 200 seats, that´s a bit like spitting in my face.

Whats the max expansion capacity of your stadium, maybe better waiting a season or 2 now that you have better sponsorship money coming in and let it build up then ask for a new stadium

Seems real life Wrexham is far more ambitious in the Vanarama.

Didn’t Wrexham just get investment from Ryan Reynolds for a couple million? Next years game with Wrexham should be a bit better financially
