FM20/21 - Strange/Weird Managerial Appointments

So I'm in 2024 on my 2nd long term Norwich save on FM20 and in the news section I noticed a few managers in jobs that I wouldn't expect them in, and one which makes sense. I started looking around and found the following -

Brian Rice - Lazio - Lazio appointing a Scottish manager. Hired from Hamilton.

Steve Clarke - Returned to Chelsea. Was still the Scotland Manager in 2024. Not overly strange but still surprised me given he's not exactly a 'big name' manager.

Volodymyr Gorilyi - Frankly I've never heard of this guy but he's managing Real Madrid. Was hired in 2022 so he's lasted 2 years and not been sacked. Pretty average attributes imo.

Vincent Kompany - The prodigal son returns. Had 2 seasons managing in the Bundesliga before returning to Man City. Apart from his low tactical knowledge his attributes look insane - he'd be an amazing youth/1st team coach.

Other's I've noticed are Diego Simeone being hired by Inter Milan in the summer of 2024. They paid compensation of £19.25 mil to get him from Man City where he'd only spent 1 year. Ronald Koeman is managing Atalanta and is paid £14.5k per week, which seems very low to me.

How about anyone else - What strange/weird appointments have you seen?

Still in the first season, Newcastle have fired Steve Bruce as they're sitting in 19th place after 26 games and have replaced him with Carlos Corberan from Huddersfield.

Ah, I see, a young upcoming manager, flying in the championship and will be a cheap option for Ashley, right?

Actually, Corberan had a 20% win rate as Huddersfield boss, leaving them 19th in the championship, just 3 points above the drop zone and Ashley is paying him £46k p/w to try and keep the toon up

Arsenal have just hired and then fired Thierry Henry in my save, and now he's away back to Monaco.

He took charge at Arsenal on my Wolves save too in 2024. I managed to pip them to 7th place in 2023/24. Now in 2024/25 he has them in 17th
