Jcl0303
Still playing fm16, haven't bought 17 yet does any one else find that team instructions, team mentalities etc make very little difference to how you see your team play. Is there any real point in setting them. For example. Close down more - your players don't close down , retain possession, shorter passing - your players still try long balls and give the ball away deeper defensive line - defenders still too far up the pitch and end up conceding goals from opposition through balls etc any one else find this ? Or just me
Welshace
Thinking of it too simply .. Your players won't pass it short if the options to do so aren't available in your tactical setup... they won't be able to retain possession if your tactic doesn't allow any room to keep the ball in when under pressure... etc. Check the tactics forums for more info and help if needed. Dagenham_Dave
Also, unless you're watching the full game, all you're seeing is bits of the match. Because you've instructed players to retain possession and pass it shorter doesn't mean they'll do this ALL the time, it means they're more likely to do this given the opportunity. You also have to factor in player personalities, teamwork, morale, etc etc.
inacion
PPM can also lead a player to do not follow team instructions. A player with low team work attribute has a lower tactic discipline.
Jcl0303
I only ever sign hard working players and try to use players with as high team work attribute as possible
