The Celtic application was unsuccessful but was approached by Southampton, Sunderland, Hibernian & Kilmarnock, I wasn't interested in the two Scottish clubs at this stage and don't want to manage in the EPL just yet, so all four were rejected. We made big gains on Portadown and Cliftonville to storm to the top of the table. We have 3 more games until the league splits and then we play another 5 games, we have also been in good form in the cups as we progress to the Quarter-Finals in both competitions. Maw74 Posted October 28, 2014 Author Share Posted October 28, 2014 We failed in the cups but manged to do just enough in the league to clinch a 57th title for the club. It was a dodgy end to the season as you can see from the results and the tables below, a good result against Portadown would have clinched it sooner and we should have got it having taken a 2-0 lead. Table after 33 games Final Table Warrenpoint managed to stay up by beating Carrick 10-4 in the relegation/promotion play-off. Second leg was rather boring after they won first leg 8-4 at Carrick. After a good draw away to Tel-Aviv it was a shame to go out by getting thumped at home. Celtic were just too strong but at least we kept each leg relatively close and we actually had enough chances to make it a closer scoreline. Maw74 Posted October 30, 2014 Author Share Posted October 30, 2014 Results (Part 2) A great run of results with a 2 game blip, a shocking defeat to Loughgall who were bottom at the time and then another cup semi-final defeat, hopefully we can make a final in a cup, we still have more to come anyway, building up a nice lead but as we nearly blew a 7 point lead in the final 5 games last season not going to be getting carried away just yet. We started slowly and it took a while before we hit the top but with the club turning professional we are stronger than the rest and proved it later on. Does seem a bit random though as i saved the game at this point and reloaded save before that game to see, did instant result we then lost that opening league game but didn't get sacked, anyway nevermind will move on, where did King go next? Only suffered one defeat in the league but it was a costly one, we still had chances to take the title but draws cost us that in the end as Kilmarnock landed the trophy.. The Europa League campaign was quite long with the early rounds but it should have been better as we led 2-0 away to Leverkusen. I was hopeful of winning a cup and having gone as far as we did it is very disappointing to miss out in the latter stages to Inverness and to be honest the final against Hearts was a rather drab affair and the ref didn't help. Well it's happened again, I was probably a bit too ambitious applying for the Real Madrid job, but I was also interested in the vacancies at Stuttgart and Gladbach, the sack followed these applications. No real surprise that Madrid application was unsuccessful, that was also the case with Gladbach but their choice of a new manager opened up the position at another club that interested me so I applied for that and was successful. Maw74 Posted December 7, 2014 Author Share Posted December 7, 2014 Season 7 - 2020/2021 Results Table So after getting the sack at Celtic it was off to Austria for King, this job became available when John Van Den Brom left to take the Gladbach job, Red Bull Salzburg have been the dominent team winning 7 titles in a row, so it was important to keep that run going and we did. It was looking good in the group stage after 4 games we were in a good position to progress but a heavy defeat to Chelsea set up a big decider with Juventus, a draw would have done but it wasn't even close. So we dropped into the Europa League and that didn't go well as CSKA Moscow got lucky. Below is a closer look at a couple of our games, one we messed up and the other a very sweet result for a Spurs fan. CRAZY GAME! GREAT RESULT! What now for King? Got another year on contract at Red Bull Salzburg. It depends what jobs become available in the summer, won't be going to Spurs yet though, missed out on that job again this season. Another chance to apply for the Tottenham job. and finally the application is successful. Really didn't expect the Tottenham job to become available again so soon and now after taking a job with a rival they make an offer. Maybe working in England helped, it isn't great timing but can I turn it down? It will probably be available again soon enough but it could be just typical that the next bloke in does a great job and stays at the club for a few years..................So what will King do?. However when Spurs make an offer it's a no-brainer really, can't turn that down to stay at West Ham. Moved to Wembley and staying lol. King becomes the 8th Spurs manager in my game. I find it rather surprising that apart from the Chairman and Manager all the other staff are the same as at the start of the game, especially the assistant manager not changing. Henríquez nets first goal as we go through with 10 men. We claw back from 2-0 down only to go and concede just a few minutes later. Eriksen stars as we seal a narrow win. We earn a replay but we should have done better. First half goals enough to secure a comfortable win. This should have been more comfortable but Eriksen settled our nerves with late strike. Kishna bags a brace but performance just not good enough. Crazy result at Wembley as Santi bags five. Our shots on target resulted in goals as we squeeze through to next round. A narrow win but a good result away from home anyway. Decided to make a change. Calderwood makes a return to the club where he was a player (22/7/1993 - 24/3/1999) and was reserve team manager (2/6/2000 - 8/10/2003). Cruel result, gutted. Just a nightmare, terrible but after 27 minutes I was expecting worse. Another shocking first half display, fightback was too little too late. Dismal, not a lot else to say. Bad news is we keep on doing it, now when we get a 2 goal lead I just wait for the comeback, when I get to season 11 you will see some very painful results. Maybe I should change my tactics when we get a 2 goal lead, only thing that stops me from doing that is what if the comeback still happens, also annoying is the amount of games where the scorelines turn around so quickly. The fans' love for the Great Dane continues. So close to making a couple of finals, to be 2-0 up in both semi-finals and lose was heartbreaking. Seriously? in the last 4 seasons we have finished 6th, 7th, 7th & 6th. Why do the board think we are in a position to challenge for the title? not gonna happen, might be last season at Spurs.
