I'm not fussy either way, but he was quoted in the press as saying his money wasn't too go up much, hence his refusal to re-sign...

25% is a fairly decent rise considering his topsy-turvey career at Rangers so far.

Frankie:

What is Response Handling? It is some sort of outsourcing? eg. catering

Las Vegas Sands? So we are definitely getting a casino?

What is this UJ thing we are not phasing out?

Does the Diadora thing mean that we will get someone else to make our kits and we won't be making our own anymore, or are we looking for a new second shirt sponsor.

Other things:

Ricksen...its his choice, personally I think he's been fantastic recently since he played midfield, has really driven the team, but if we get a bid of £1m in January and we're out of Europe we should take it.

Good news on Boumsong, so he should be here for the season at least.

Real shame about Michael Ball, I really do rate him, he's better than Vanoli and as good as Vignal IMO. Although Vignal offers more going forward which we do need with no real left mid playing.

Because we sold 0.5million strips last year, the name on our strips is worth more than the £1million a year Diadora pay, so we're open to offers. I'd imagine we'll still make our own though.

The casino is very likely to happen.

Must be based on something, its was mentioned in the AGM was it not? Seemingly Rangers should be debt free and have war chest by 12 months. We will see. They say getting through the group stages and into the knockout round in the UEFA Cup means that we only lost 2-3 million for not getting into the CL.

I would have thought globally 0.5mil shirt sales was achievable with the fallowing in Canada and the States, a friend in states got a few from one of the fan organisations and they had bought them direct for the Rangers.

50,000 season ticket holders

I’d imagine for every season ticket holder there are 4-5 fans in Glasgow alone who buy stripes like me. I don’t have a season ticket but buy the shirts.

Plus the rest of the world and N Ireland, remember every shirt was made by Ranagers so that covers all the shops out with Rangers shops.

Commercially that’s probably true. With the Gers world brand in the States, Canada, Ireland, Australia they probably do well.

They don’t mean top team wise, let’s face it Rangers and Celtic would not even make the top 5 if they were added to the premiership down south. The quality is clear to see the Gers scraped into the Uefa cup and Celtic are really poor in the CL with them looking out classed so far.

It a bit like the best fans in the world bull that is said, total tosh.

It’s quite obvious the reason for this possible move, Lovenkrands has no competition on that left wing and we are stupidly very light in the middle of the park.

I’d like a good solid creative midfielder, pay the money for him if we have to or get a loan like JERMAINE PENNANT

I’d love one of the following at the club

JAY-JAY OKOCHA

SHAUN WRIGHT-PHILLIPS

DANNY MURPHY

JASON KOUMAS

ROHAN RICKETTS

NIGEL QUASHIE

ROBBIE SAVAGE

KIERON DYER

like I said about a way back, I'd have him i would not say he's a star player but put's in a good shift and works hard for the team.

I just feel we've already got players who (when fit) will get around the park and work hard for the team - it's a wee touch of class we need, someone who can control the game and bring others into it with their passing.

Even with both Rae’s back the midfield is painfully thin on the ground, I’d just like to be able to see four players that actually play in the middle of the park on the field instead on 3 defenders filling in and a forward.

We need a engine room in mid, creative is great when behind it you have a work load.

quote:
Rangers have lodged a planning application for a £150m sports and leisure campus next to Ibrox stadium.

The proposed 20-acre development includes a community and leisure facility, a hotel and private flats.

Rangers retail director Nick Peel said: "The campus will include facilities for supporters, such as a new Rangers megastore, ticket centre and café."

If Glasgow City Council approve the plans, work should begin during the first half of 2006.

The centre-piece development is an entertainment complex with a full-size roof-top football pitch, a casino, shops, restaurants and bars.

It is hoped the new campus will create more than 2,000 full-time jobs and generate substantial profits for the club, which is struggling with huge debts.

Business consultants Deloitte MCS estimate that the Ibrox Sands Entertainment Complex will bring in over £29m of additional revenue each year.

The complex, which is being developed by leading US resort operator Las Vegas Sands, also features a fitness suite.

Deloitte MCS said the overall campus would have a significant impact on the regeneration of the area, which is one of the most deprived in Glasgow.

There seems to be a massive move by rangers to generate money with the before mentioned production of the clubs shirts, the building of a quality and probably one of the best training and youth academy’s in the UK for a production line of top players to bring through and sell and the project mentioned above.

It looks like the club is gearing it’s self for modem Football and it bodes well for the future. With the share issue that was probably well over due (Celtic built a stadium and recovered from bankruptcy the same way) to cancel out the debt and all this future investment the swing from red to black looks a good certainty.

good to see the game on Thursday in on the cable icon14.gif

Is the Tic game on STV?

isnt this just too easy or what, a Scottish team winning away in Europe icon_redface.gificon_biggrin.gif

been a great performance tonight, Bob and Nando have controlled midfield and Dado/Nacho are very sharp at the moment icon_cool.gif

Amica dont sound that great, but I think we'd take a win to get confidence, although I didnt expect something like 4-0, with even Pedro scoring icon_redface.gif

we'll know how good a result it is when the other teams in the group play amica.

Didn't think we played THAT well tonight, but we did take most of our chances, which is a rare thing for us. Was sure Lovenkrands was going to blast over with the first, and was disappointing not to see Dado Prso getting on the scoresheet as he worked his arse off and deserved a goal. My man of the match.

Boumsong didn't look the part tonight at all... gave the ball away a few times and was very unlike him. Big Marv had a good game though icon_redface.gif

Amica had a fair few chances as well, but they weren't that great and gave the ball away far too often.

All in all a great result for us tonight icon14.gif

Well the Utd result came as a timely reminder of just how average we are.

I feel too many fans/players turned up yesterday just expecting the 3 points and another 5-0 win. How wrong could we all be?

Again, the players tried hard enough, but we don't seem capable of upping the pace of games. Malcolm and Ricksen have done well lately but they're not creative enough to unlock defensive teams like Utd who had 10 men behind the ball at all times.

Eck can point to the fact that he had Burke, Novo and Shota playing to create the chances. But only Novo did well with Burke still out of sorts and Shota well off the pace. Indeed, keeping Burke on the park so long simply was the strangest decision of the day, never mind the referee's awful game. Who is Steve Conroy btw?

It really was a woeful game. It once again highlighted our midfield problems. At the back we were solid enough, but I lost count of the amount of aimless high balls from Andrews. His distribution could be better but the fact that we had to rely on a defender to make the play says more about the team than I ever could.

Not many bright points came from the game. We were solid looking at the back and I thought Vignal had a decent game, but Zurab didn't get forward enough to help Burke and too often makes mistakes with his control. Malcolm and Ricksen did OK, but neither got forward enough to support the attack and this contributed to our few real chances.

Up front, Prso lead the line well in the first half but plainly looked knackered by the hour mark and should have been withdrawn. The least said about Shota the better, but I thought big Thommo did well again when he came on but he did miss a good chance to seal the game.

All in all, very, very disappointing. I'm hoping it's not only me that sees that we're far too one dimensional and lack ideas creatively. That's been the case now since Ronald de Boer left and it must be addressed or we can expect more of the same more often.

that was a clever ploy by united, man mark Boumsong so that Andrews had to bring the ball out, he can't pass at all.

Too true Frankie... we really miss someone like Barry Ferguson who takes responsibility in the middle of the park and actively seeks the ball and spreads the play around a bit.

I'd like to see Namouchi given more of a chance as well. We're also playing too many players outside their best positions.

Hope it's OK to post about this:

quote:

I've always heard people talking on here (and other sites) about the lack of a decent website with a complete account of the history of our club.

Of course this is something the club do provide to an extent on the official site, but I'd like us to go further. It really would be great to have one site where we could access a RFC results archive, watch/listen to historic footage, view photos, read fans' stories etc etc.

I'm in the process of coming up with an initial design for the site and, depending on other committments, hope to get the project off the ground this year for completion in early 2005 or before.

I'm hoping that with YOUR help we can bring together all our knowledge onto one site that everyone can use for free anytime.

It would be great if as the sceenshot suggests, you could send me the following by email:

- Your own stories and experiences;

- Photos, Video footage, mp3s etc;

- Links to other sites with the info we need;

- Recommendations of books we could use.

My email address is in my profile. Obviously, where appropriate we will acknowledge your contribution.

Bears, this is a project of a huge size that can only be successful or worthwhile if we all contribute. I promise you that this site will be free and once uploaded, available for the long term. If you have any questions/info/advice, then please email me or post in this thread.

I hope you can help.
