busngabb
Is there an option to control them like there is with English reserve teams? If I could I would take control of them, pick a striker in goal and play no defenders or midfielders, then sit back and watch your own side rack up a record score. Maidel
Doesnt really matter - if you lose, every game just shove your first team in the reserve team and win the cup with the reserve team... Everyone will underestimate you, play attacking and you will hammer them.

james170288
i had a similar tie in the Russian cup with lokomotiv v lokomotiv reserves, I scored the winner in the 89th minute. I was ready to fire any reserve player that knocked my first team out.

busngabb
But this thing could surely not happen IRL right? I was involved in a school 5 a-side tournament at St Peters in Woolston, Warrington about 25 years ago. I was 7 and playing in the School B team because the other kids were all 9. We got through to the Final and played the School's first team. I scored the winner past my brother, it's still mentioned a lot during family gatherings. So yeah, it can happen. Man Ray
Roughly ten years ago Ajax was actually playing Ajax II in the Dutch Cup, think it was a semi or quarter-final.
Chris M
But this thing could surely not happen IRL right? Depends on the country. It can't any more in Spain for example as B teams were prohbited from entering the cup after the 79/80 farce of a final between Real and their B team Castilla. As far as I know they still can in the Netherlands as Jong Ajax have a pretty decent record, and its even been won on occasion by reserve teams. Germany allows reserve teams into the cup as well, as does Poland, plus probably a good few more countries.
Chris M
Once again, RSSSF comes to the rescue. http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/reserves.html contains a list of various cool things done by reserve sides, including an entire section devoted to cup exploits.
