Mid-Season Update - 07/08

Well with the new patch (8.0.2) fixing the crash dump error, the season is back on track, and going strong.

Lets see how all the teams are doing:

Allithwaite Rangers

Manager: Lee Nash, a rookie manager who is only 30 years of age, has not had any experience before.

Bradwell Athletic

Manager: Ian Baraclough, played at championship level for Leicester and became assistant manager of Scunthorpe in 2004, before joining Bradwell as a manager.

Manager: Jeff King, with over 15 years experience, he is one of the most experienced managers in the league.

Manager: Kelham O'Hanlon, Not an experienced manager but an experienced player as he played in the premiership with Middlesborough. He joined from Barnsley, where he was an assistant manager for a remarkable 1 day! icon_biggrin.gif

Manager: Kevin Poole, another rookie manager with no managing or playing experience.

Manager: Phil Wilson, played in the lower leagues for Stalybridge and Southport. He was managing Barrow, but left to join the Cricketers.

Manager: Clive Roberts, lowest payed manager in the league, and again a manager with no experience. Has a tough job on his hands.

Manager: Joe Roach, not an experienced manager but had 5 years experience as a youth coach at Bournemouth, before joining Downs.

Manager: Keith Burkinshaw, the oldest manager in the league at 72 years of age. Has great experience as he played for Liverpool back in the 50s and has managed teams like Newcastle and Tottenham and even Bahrain! He joined the Dynos from Watford where he was the assistant manager.

Manager: Keith Downing, played for many teams around the midlands (including Hereford, the team i support) and joined FC Cardiff from Cheltenham, where he was the assistant manager.

Manager: Steve Charles, known only locally and has never really had many achievements, unless you count joining from Gainsborough where he was only a coach as an achievement.

Manager: Dean Glover, also played Premiership football for Middlesbrough as well as Aston Villa, he also played for Port Vale and after his playing career he became a Youth Coach and then Assistant Manager at Port Vale.

Manager: Mick Docherty, started his career at Sunderland as a coach and then he became a Manager at Sunderland, Hartlepool and Rochdale. He became the Assistant Manager of Gillingham in 2005 and left to become manager of Ironz at the beginning of September.

Manager: David Kerslake, has played for the likes of Leeds and Tottenham and was the Assistant Manager of Nottingham Forest before joining the ******** Hedgehogs.

Manager: Mick Waitt, played for Notts County when they were back in the Premiership and has managed New Zealand and managed a team in New Zealand called Hawkes Bay.

Manager: Terry Burton, managed Wimbledon (now known as MK Dons) when they were in the Premiership. He joined The Dicsciples from Cardiff where he was the Assistant Manager.

Manager: Terry Vines, played in the lower leagues and managed Basingstoke for a season before joining the Blues.

Manager: Josh Mitchell, the final rookie manager in the league and his un-experience is already showing as he is already under pressure.

A solid first half of the season means we are in touch with the sharp end to come, form puts us top as well icon_cool.gif

Some good looking signings in there as well. Any feeder/parent club links atm (For any of the clubs really)

I assume you are going to go very far in this as you are going very quickly (not that I am complaining) Hopefully I can buy Jay Rodriguz on a permanent deal and push on for a playoff place.

End of Season Update - 07/08

With the League finished the playoffs got underway:

Ironz played against Westfields

and

FC Cardiff played against Team Jesus FC.

The first of the matches started with Ironz playing against Westfields with the game very evenly matched and finally ending with a 2-2 draw.

The Second Leg was another evenly matched game with Westfields scoring a penalty in the last minute to take the game to penalties, where Westfields won 3-2.

The Second of the playoff finals was between FC Cardiff and Team Jesus FC. The first leg was a good game with FC Cardiff dominating and winning 2-1.

The second leg was the opposite to the first leg with Team Jesus FC dominating and winning 1-0 by full time. This means it went into extra time. It finished 2-1 to Team Jesus and the game was destined for another penalty shootout. FC Cardiff won 3-1 on penalties.

Playoff Final - Westfields v FC Cardiff

Yet another close game with Westfields slightly dominating on possesion. The game ended 1-1 and yes another penalty shootout was on the books. Westfields won 4-3 on penalties!
