Dorchester
Can you make a continent like Oceania to become bigger than Europe without cheating? If so, how, and how long does it take?
mark1985
If possible, it will take decades. As it currently stands, European teams have won 11 World Cups, been losing finalists 15 times and there have been 8 all European finals. The furthest a team from Oceania has got is to the last 16, which was Australia who I think now qualify through Asia. S o you will need to at least match what European countries success at a World Cup, get as many of them as possible into the top 10/20 in the world, plus strengthen leagues across the whole continent, winning World Club Cups etc etc. So, in my opinion, it's near on impossible (at least with Oceania) as I can't see the likes of New Zealand, Vanuatu and the Cook Islands being Major world Players just yet... Smurf
I think it also comes down to population Europe has a population of 740,000,000+ Oceania has a population of 36,000,000+ Considering Europe has 50 countries and Oceania only has 14 - the numbers are in Europe's favour. cjmaitland
This is pretty interesting. Does anyone know what specific advantages there would be for a continenant outside of Europe growing to get the highest rep? More prize money, increased global & continental qualifying places, etc? louissiscool
I didn't think continents as such even had a rating? i thought it was only the countrys competitions and the continental competitions.
