U18 Manager Search ??

Hi - Hope this is the right place for this question.

I can't seem to search for staff such as Manager and Asst Manager for Under 18 squad.

Anyone know how I can do that.

All other staff roles, no problem, just those guys.

Should be on your 'Staff Information Screen'. Maybe you need to be viewing the U18 squad and then click on 'Staff Information Screen'?

I think we are at cross purposes here.

I want to search for U18 staff roles o hire people, I haven't any.

But I don't seem to be able to refine the search to those staff that fill that role.

That's the bit I'm missing ??

On the staff search screen there is a filter that you can use to search for specific staff - 'Staff Role' is one of those.

But it only covers 'coach' or 'assistant manager', so will give you a list of anyone who might be interested in joining your club in those roles.

A search by those interested in roles with your reserves/youth team would be much better to save you trawling through too many not interested in reserve/yth coaching for you.

Placing a job advert for a role is a bit hit and miss on this so is not always a help.

Can you not select 'youth coach'?

You could always use the attribute filter to search for coaches who specialise at working with youngsters

No, you can't. Not under the filter for 'staff role' when doing the staff search anyway. Would love to know if you can anywhere else when looking for new staff if it's out there?

if you want an under 18 assistant.................just search for assistant............few newbies looking to get into management would be willing to join as an under 18 assistant...u simply try approaching them and see what role they want...i m sure u will find plenty wanting under 18 assistant role

Sure, that's what I have to do and do. But it takes some trawling. If every other role can be filtered out as unrealistic it would just be a nice to have for when looking for reserve/youth staff.

go to job centre, and advertise the position. The broader your scouting range, the more applicants you get from other countries too. the times i have done it ive got at least 6 applicants to start with, then you either carry the advert on or stop it if youve found someone. It takes about 2 weeks for the 1st list of applicants to come through though.

the reason might be that you can sign an under 18 assistant coach who might not be that interested in this role but accept it to gain better salary or experience.......when you approach him he might have actually wanted assistant role...which you do not want to offer him

This has been one of the things i've DESPISED about the game for so long. It's ridiculous they've not added it to the search function. You can't search for national level staff nor can you place any ads for national level staff at the lower squads (B, under 21, under 18).

If you're at a club, you can place an add but not everyone that will sign will apply. The other option is to search based on attributes you require them to have and then sort the results by their current job title. So the assistant manager at Barcelona isn't likely to wanna be under 18's manager at Wigan, but the recently retired/still active player, reserves manager at Yoevil, Under 18's manager at Birmingham might. You don't really need an under 18's assistant manager, but it's a good tempter if the person isn't willing to accept a coach position.

I would really love a search for u18 type staff as well, it s just a pain to check regular staff and offer contract randomly to see that most of them dont accept an u18 position.

If you search for 'coach' with attribute 'working with youngsters' set to at least 15, then you should be able to find youth coaches much easier

I always do add the working with youngsters attribute for u18 staff but a bunch of them will refuse.

Well I can't see a big issue in extending the search drop down box to at least include these roles as selectable, but it would seem too hard maybe.

It is the sort of thing that drives me up the wall a bit, but I guess SI don't see it that way.
