panicfc23
I'm not keen on the downloading from Steam, will a CD be available for FM 2012? Also, does the editor work on a Mac?
Nottingham Forest
There is a CD available for FM12. You have to use Steam to activate it. Will they change it later on for FM12, probably not as the cost would probably be to high. Will they change it for FM13? Who knows. SI will obviously be deciding whether Steam has been a success or not. You have to download the editor separate from the game and you can get that from Steam. panicfc23
Thanks Forest. I can't find the cd in the US yet. The editor didn't work on my mac last time. Changes were never accepted.
Doc Gonzo
Try to find a DVD. That should work.
panicfc23
$65 on Amazon for dvd (geez, didn't realize it was a dvd).
Impale
Hmm. I've heard that in the US it's almost impossible to find a physical copy in the shops. For buying a disc online (via Amazon or whatever) you'll probably pay way over the odds. (It's $20 more expensive than a digital download) Steam is honestly your best option. Or emigration. It really depends how badly you want a physical copy.
panicfc23
I was thinking of making a trip to London I'll have to try Steam, but reading all the problems in the Mac forums I'm a bit nervous.
Impale
My advice before installing then, is to update all of your drivers and make sure your mac is as clean as possible.
panicfc23
Thanks. Mac is updated - how do I update the drivers?
KUBI
You don't need to update drivers on a mac as the important ones are part of any OS X update.
panicfc23
Good, I didn't know anything about that Have steam downloading the demo - I'll mess with that and see how it goes.
pigfacemonkeyman
Good, I didn't know anything about that Have steam downloading the demo - I'll mess with that and see how it goes. Mac section here: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/279162-Football-Manager-2012-*OFFICIAL*-FAQ If you have to go with a digital download there are alternatives to Steam that are usually cheaper: http://www.thedugout.net/content/news/item,25,19,1,£24.99_FM2012_Pre_Order_deal_extended.html http://www.sega.co.uk/retailers/?g=7344 and probably many others more local to you. GuitarMan
My tech knowledge personally isnt amazing, but always the third matchday seems unusual... Ill try and point a more tech based mod to this thread
panicfc23
Thanks GuitarMan. I started a new game and we'll see how it goes.
GuitarMan
The other thing I would say (may be quicker actually) is to post a thread in the crashes forum http://community.sigames.com/forumdisplay.php/248-Technical-Issues-and-Crashes (that way someone from SI will be in touch in that thread to see how to resolve your crashes
panicfc23
Done. Thanks
mytreds
I'm on a mac, used Steam last year for fm 11. Steam has problems whether you have Mac or PC. Honestly, this crapload on making everyone use Steam is not cool. As consumers I think we should have the right to decide whether we want a hard copy or want to fiddle around with Steam. Maybe SI needs to create its own third party instead of Steam. Anyway, demo for fm 12 works fine, no crashes, just I can't play with sound on, since after a game is over I still hear the crowd noise. I don't understand it- you spend thousands of hours and dollars testing these things, and yet they still knowingly release these games with a multitude of bugs. How lazy can you get? Luckily FM has on of the most dedicated forum/fan bases out there that I've seen who spend hours trying to get things right and give out facepacks, kitpacks, logo packs, etc.
