not using real players poll

basically tell me what you think about it...i've just started it for the first time.....its quite good tbh

I tried it and didnt really enjoy it, besides when you get further into the game, most of the real players will be gone anyway.

Yeah same here I ticked the No - See no point for that reason, im in 2024 now and the last remaining 'modern day' youths are just about starting to retire, and my team core is built almost totally out of regens so I dont know anyone anyway !

I still think its better to chase the big name singings (that you know of) rather than chasing someone worth 20 Million that you have no idea about, unless they are a regen player I wouldnt like it.

I havent tried it in FM09 yet but did something change? In previous FMs the only thing that changed were the player's names, or possibly nationalities (cant remember too well) but ability wise you could even recognize who was replacing Lampard at Chelsea or Ronaldo in Man Utd. They were like the same players with different names (kinda like using FMRTE clone centre or changing everyone's names)

I really couldnt see much of a point in this. If it actually changed something would be nice tho...

because the majority of the players are COMPLETELY random...aka regens...who are just randomly made so that they will be right for the club rep

sometimes you will see similar players

but the only one that i have realised so far is gomes' replacement---henrique

but i haven't ruled out that its just coincedence yet

My regen keeper (in fact a youth from my very own academy), is going into the FA Cup Final having not conceded a goal in 1555 consecutive minutes !!!

exactly, its too easy to tell who players were by their relationships, all that changed for me was john terrys name and nationality, he became pierre chirac from martinique, even his photo didnt change as the uids dont!

if it were truly random it would be a great feature, but no different to holidaying to 2026....

I tried it once on fm 2007 but the top 5 most expensive players in the world all belonged to chelsea and it seemed to mimick the real players just with different names. e.g. the australian national side had its first team playing in europe and there was a winger playing for liverpool i.e. Kewell and a cm playing for everton, Cahill. So i am completley discouraged from trying it again.

so is it all facegen? the only time i've tried it was on 07, and as far as i could tell it was just same players but with altered names and countries

its all re-gens....its a bit different than it was in 2007...thats what i've noticed anyway....SOMETIMES there are a few similiarities sometimes though
