Deltaroad
Is it strikers going wide?
joao_colha
Or any player really. Just means they won't try to go through the middle as much.
NepentheZ
I always pictured this as a Thierry Henry kind of move, where he always moved into the left channel.
supersaint
From The Bootroom about PPM in 2005 (I guess its more or less the same still): "Moves Into Channels - A striker who likes to move into wide areas to receive the ball"
Ryknow
O dam, I thought it was that they move in the gaps between defenders so they can recieve through balls. Need to unteach it to my striker now.
Deltaroad
Yeah I thought it was something like that till my wingback was successfully taught to move to channels.
r0x0r
channels are the natural gaps left between defenders, aren't they? Moving into channels means that rather than running past the centerback, the player will run between the centerback and leftback for instance. This way neither knows who should pick him up. A strong striker's probably better off not having this PPM though, as you don't mind him steamrolling through the defender.
watsonsclarets
channels are the natural lines between half way line and goal line between there defenders and full back usualy play the ball in there as get out balls
SCIAG
It's about getting between the full back and centre back, obviously this involves drifting wide.
