Blowing the FT whistle when a corner is about to be taken?

I didn't know this was allowed as I've never seen it in a real life EPL game, but I've just witnessed it

It has happened before even in the WC before,

There was one ref who did it irl, a while ago. I can't remember who it was, or the teams involved, but the media kicked up a fuss about it.

It's definitely allowed. A ref can call time any time he wants after the 45 mins are up.

I have seen the whistle blown as i am about to go clean through and it is annoying.

Most refs would have the sense to blow the whistle as soon as the ball goes out instead of waiting for everyone to get ready and then blowing FT. That happened in a real life match I saw recently and no one thought anything about it. The match engine just needs to be a little quicker on the draw sometimes I think.

edit: It would help if it didn't take the players a minute and a half to get the ball sometimes.

Happened in my last match. Didn't matter too much as the game was already won but it would be highly frustrating if you were trailing or drawing and needed the point/s.

This. You are right mate it can get frustrating.

As a ref, I've done it IRL before. The ref has the official time and when time is up...well, time is up. Once into stoppage time, I don't see the problem with letting a few more seconds go...unless the ref has no justification for it...see Sir Alex Ferguson and Man Utd.
