Are all regens pretty crap?

In the 5 years my game has been going, the regens that have all come through are all mediocre at best, and according to my FMRTE, no regen has a potential ability better than 175...are everyones regens this poor?

Nope, about 12 seasons in and only 2 of my starting 11 are real players. One of my regen strikers has won the World Player of the Year award twice in a row, the other has finished in the top 3 the last few year and one of my regen LB's is worth 25mill and is only 22.

I'm with southport and my first set of regens yielded a striker with a PA of 188

You're right, though it isn't necessarily cheating.

Crouchaldinho ran a few tests, there are enough good regens in the future IMO. They aren't as good as the real players though, at least not in terms of quantity.

I have the same problem. I'm in the year 2027 and I do use Genie Scout to keep an eye on my players development. I find that there are scarcely any players with a PA of 180+ anywhere in the world (I believe there are only thirty six)

Don't use that staff,who cares if there are no 180+ around as long as they look good.Or while you're using them increase their PA,most of them wont reach it anyway

I've seen quite a few excellent regens in my game. But not sure if they are in the same quantity as top players when the game starts.

The number of (good) regens also depends on your league-setup. Few leagues, few regens. I have a DB with ca 45,000 players and there are lots of players with PA and CA of 180+. I'm in 2031 btw.

Cheating? Its not cheating, its using every utility at your disposal to track and properly nurture your players development. Its not even an advantage. Dont be so hasty to deal out judgments when you dont know why we use them.

What's your database size and active leagues? After 6 years with a small DB and only 3 nations having leagues, I decided to restart with a larger database. I realized that regen quality was really poor, the best 3 regens in the game (whom I had on my team, and were all 20-23) were pretty good (comparable to Essien, Buffon, and Ferdinand) , but other than that not even a single 3-star, according to my scouts.

well yea but if you are in a big team its almost imposible to get more then 3 stars as scouts and coaches compare players with your players. I have 3 of the best players in the world and non of gets more then 3,5 stars.

Play anyway you like, but don't pretend that checking PA isn't against the spirit of the game (at best).
