Praising Form

Does anyone have luck with praising players? I am in a season with Man City and each time I am recommended to praise players for their play, they always come back with a negative response. Either bumused or thinking they are not playing well enough for praise.

Check for yourself if they're playing well. General rule for me is that is their average for the last five is over 7.2, I will tell them I'm pleased. If it's under 6.9, I'll tell them it's under par. Haven't had complaints.

I have 3 players over 7.3 and all 3 don't know why I am praising them. They feel they are not playing well enough for praise. Find it to be funny but frustrating..

They are the players who have high standards then so try not to praise them too much.

I praised a player with 8.02 rating and 7 goals and he was 'under no illusions' and thought he could do better

Ive had players with over 8,5 on last 5 matches that is bemused when I praise them. I think that is pretty good actually... I dont know what they are expecting of themselves.... 10s in every match!!?

I normally only praise someone who scores a hat trick (>8.0 rating) or more than 3 assists.

Another easier way to get positive reply is to target those who have you in their favourites.

I never praise my players using the backroom advice because you have no control over which kind of praise to give. The coach would suggest you praise so and so for his excellent form but when you click on it you end up saying he was only acceptable.

Besides, my own backroom staff hardly ever agree on whether I should praise X player.

You can counter that by clicking 'Interact' rather than just 'praise'. That way you choose the praise YOU want.

I discovered this was the best way the other day - use this rather than just clicking on praise player.
