The Sean Posted November 5, 2009 Share Posted November 5, 2009 They accepted a fee of $1,000,000 dollars (US) for a player I had worth $675,000 dollars (US) because they said the offer was too good to refuse. He was a super-duper prospect (Niklas Barkroth of IFK Goteborg) that I could have grown into a multi-million dollar transfer if the board hadn't wet the bed and accepted the first offer that came along. Yeah this does happen a fair bit, I had the board accept an offer of 1 million for a superstar youngster I had worth 750k but think that may have been due to the clubs poor financial state. Raware Posted November 6, 2009 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Better yet, set his asking price to £0 then the chairman won't accept the offer on the basis that it was too good to turn down and you can keep hold of him by rejecting the offers. Just offer him quite a bit more than he asks for and unless it's Real Madrid or Man U coming in for him he'll usually sign a new contract and reject the new one.
