Fouls made by last defender, going unpunished

Anyone else noticed a lot of these? Dunno if it's league specific, but i'm playing in Brazil and an awful lot of fouls given against the last defender and the ref only gives them a talking to. Quite infuriating tbh.

Third division? There may be some really bad referees there. I agree it's stupid though.

Second Division, but even poor ref's would know that a foul by the last man is at least yellow card worthy.

It's a serious point though. Managing in the EPL I see many penalties given and professional fouls where the ref give a yellow or a lecture when it should be a straight red.

Referees vary. Match circumstances may not be quite as clearcut as you think. And it's denying a clear goal scoring chance which should see a red card - being the last man is not sufficient for it to be a red.

The football rules are nearly all prefaced by: "in the opinion of the referee". Opinions vary hence decisions are not the same.

I've never seen a last man red card in fm 09. Seen plenty in the previous games however.

And just to be a bitch about things, "last man" is not a red card offence (look it up in the Rules of the Game).

Even if it is last man, it may not be "Denying An Obvious Goalscoring Opportunity", which is a foul punishable by a card, which usually should be red.

I've seen quite a bit last man cards. Penalty's however rarely comes with cards.

edit: just now, player tackles me from behind inside the box -> penalty, but no card ...
