How to explain football manager.

Recommended Posts

When I'm playing the game my friends often ask questions such as:

" But you're not controlling the players, how is that fun?"

" Isn't watching dots run around the screen boring?"

" How do you find this fun?"

So how do you explain the enjoyment and delight you get from the game to the uninformed?

And why exactly do you find the game so good?

I dunno. No, really, I dunno. But I can't stop. There's nothing in gaming that can compare to the sheer elation that FM can bring - taking an unfacnied team to the cup, smashing your closest rival, hell, even just surviving sometimes.

The only advice I can give, is to tell your friends to try it. Then they'll understand (and you wont have friends cos they'll be too busy playing :p )

Just say it's almost like a strategy game eg Civilization, but also a simulation game like all the Tycoon games...

But about football management.

Your pals (like mine) probably only plays CoD4 and similar FPS games, so they wont understand the pleasures of FM :)

I do love the way that because my friends don't like FM, I should get new ones. :D

I should point out though, that it's not all my friends.

But thanks for the advice so far, I'll make sure I use some of it the next time the questions pop up.

Keep it coming!
