Northernpilgrim
Not a bad first month in charge and we end it solidly in the playoff positions
Northernpilgrim
I managed two signings in the transfer window adding striker McNulty from Reading and centre back Mengi from Man Utd on loan
Northernpilgrim
10 points from 5 matches in February but I think it would have been more if we hadn't been reduced to 9 men against Fleetwood and the Colchester game was pure frustration, getting a draw from a game we had enough chances to win comfortably all of which actually sees the gap to the top two grow to five points. Despite being on target to get 90 points, it looks very much like we'll have to settle for a playoff spot. The board were only asking for top half this season though, so we're well ahead of schedule. If I get them up, I'll be looking to move on in the summer. If not, I'll stick around until I get them up. I'm not bothered about them either way For anyone who is interested, here is a list of clubs I DON'T like, and therefore will not manage on this save: Exeter City (Argyle's biggest rivals) Man Utd Luton Town (from when Joe Kinnear was their manager) Burnley Edited December 7, 2019 by Northernpilgrim
Northernpilgrim
March wasn't great Though we should have got something from Rochdale and Rotherham but got a win we didn't really deserve against Wycombe and remarkably, we're still in with an outside chance of automatic promotion, but it's a slim possibility
Northernpilgrim
An unbeaten April, including salvaging a point from a game we were losing 3-1 but failure to beat either Swindon or Argyle means we have to settle for a playoff spot, due to our inferior goal difference. Victory over Doncaster in our final game won't secure promotion as we'd hoped, but it might be enough to avoid a playoff semi against Middlesbrough. Northernpilgrim
We failed to do our bit Which confirms we'll face Middlesbrough in the semi final, and if we get through that, it'll likely be Sunderland in the final.

Northernpilgrim
With a narrow defeat in the first leg, could we turn it around in front of our own supporters? Northernpilgrim
Time to round up the season, beginning with the golden boot, won by our own Ivan Toney and the Team of the Year, which featured only two Peterborough players and our playing stats for the season
Northernpilgrim
Preseason results were pretty good, including a demolition of Man Utd and we managed to bring in four players Ryan Edwards will offer cover and experience at centre back Tyler Denton is a promising young left back Aidan Fitzpatrick comes in to bolster our options at right wing and Anouar El Mhassani will do the same at left wing, whilst also being able to be an emergency left back So, this is the squad for the new season
Northernpilgrim
The league season kicked off in July, with just one match played, and it didn't go according to plan. Drawing 1-1 after 82 minutes, I made my final sub, and went from positive to attacking mentality and that means we are in the relegation zone

Northernpilgrim
August update time. Positive: we went the whole month unbeaten in 90 minutes, our only defeat coming in the cup on penalties. Negative: We drew four (five including that cup match) of our eight matches in August. and that leaves us off the pace in 12th, but just 2 points outside the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
After a few days away, I'm back, and it's an unbeaten September and that extends our unbeaten run in the league to 12, and sees us in the playoff places
Northernpilgrim
We did lose twice in October, but only once in the league, winning the rest but that was only enough to reclaim the playoff spot we lost in defeat at Sunderland and we'll need to beat Southampton in the Leasing.com Trophy, as the board are demanding we reach at least the third round. Northernpilgrim
An unbeaten November, and 7 points from 9 in the league but that's still not enough to force our way into the top two although victory over Southampton in the Leasing.com Trophy saw us progress through to the knockout stages as runners-up
Northernpilgrim
Three wins in five league games in December was not great, and we've fallen one round short of the board target in the Leasing.com Trophy, but the 3-0 defeat to Fleetwood is the one that really irritates me, as they're the sort of side we should be putting away. We had a man sent off against Wycombe, with the score 1-0 at the time, which became 2-0 just 2 minutes later which of course means we remain in the playoff places, when wins in both those matches would have taken us top by a point. If it's to be the playoffs again, I hope Wigan replace Shrewsbury in the top two Edited December 17, 2019 by Northernpilgrim
Northernpilgrim
Five league games, 10 points in January, as well as a third round FA Cup win and 4th round exit but the gap to the promotion spots is down to three points. Wigan have two games in hand on the top two, we have one.
Northernpilgrim
A couple of players were added in the transfer window, with others leaving on loan, though I need to get some out permanently to reduce the wage bill Souttar comes in as a starting centre back and Klarer is a backup option who should develop into a first teamer
Northernpilgrim
A terrible February and with the board demanding promotion, and my contract up in the summer, I've basically got 9 games left to avoid the sack, and it's Wigan away next Edited December 20, 2019 by Northernpilgrim

Northernpilgrim
Only one win from the final 5 matches of the season but that was enough to see us promoted as runners-up to surprise champions Shrewsbury. Northernpilgrim
The season starts in July because of the World Cup, so my preseason update is in a few parts, beginning in early June (which for some reason, despite preseason training starting on 13th June, these results were with last season and the rest of June, which was on the new season tab. There will be more friendlies in July, as the first league game isn't until 16th July.
