phugalu
I quite often ask HoYD to become Assistant Manager cause of their stats (tactical knowledge, working with youngsters, etc) . If u have the cash than u can throw that at them to change their mind. Teams with lower budgets won't easily do that of course.
Vilmar
Have done scouts to coaches, coaches to scouts. In FM16 even a coach to HoYD. Rui Costa from Chief Scout to Coach. All possible in the top teams by throwing cash at them and having a decent reputation.
sedge11
Phil cannon is a head of youth development, but I've signed him many times as a coach or assistant manager. I've not had to throw money at him either but his stats are amazing so does a great job as an ass Man or a coach.
alex1234
A staff member in the preferred role will most likely want a contract as his role .eg.....a head of youth department will want a head of youth role if u offer him a contract .but with high wages than he is asking and little add ons ....u can persuade him to accept the role u want him in ...it also depends on your club reputation. I always sign staff members lik that
