  1. Season Review 2023/34 League Table | Promotion Group | Fixtures 1 & 2 | Finances | Manager Profile | Transfers Well in my 2nd season in charge it was all about righting the wrongs of last season (was 5 points clear with 5 games to go, lost all 5 and finished 3rd!) and winning promotion. I was fairly confident as I'd kept the team together and hoping a few tactical tweaks would be enough. And for most of the season I was right, we did really well, were 1st-2nd for most of the season. Then March happened, I don't really know where it came from or why it happened, but a horrendous run where we looked devoid of confidence. I can't even blame injuries like I did last year, everyone fit and available and kept losing. Had played a 4231 most of the season, but decided to tighten up and went a bit compact with a 4312, it did the business as I went unbeaten in the promotion group and won the league! Youth Preview | Intake | Squad List View Hard to know what to make of the intakes, some players featured in first team at 15/16 from bench, couple of the more decent ones I've posted below, I think De Paepe although very young will feature for me, I need to start bringing in guys to replace the old guard as I have 4-5 important starters all early 30's now, need to start giving starts to the youngsters, which by and large I've not had to do besides the odd game. But these guys from the bench have been important at times, Ward De Vos (last years intake) scored some hugely important goals, 2 winners in separate games where he was through on his own and rounded the keeper late on, identical goals, which for a youngster I thought was cool to see! De Vos also got capped by Belgium's U-18s, and there was also recognition for one of our intake from this year who almost immediately got capped by Luxembourg U-21s - not a huge deal I know but nice to see things like that. Hired this new HOYD who I am hoping with his great personality and reasonable attributes will dig me up a few gems next few years! Next season Belgian 2nd tier is a bit strange, 8 teams play each other 4 times, so only a 28 game regular season. Which on one hand I'm looking forward to as I'll get through the seasons quicker. 8th goes down, 1st goes up, and 2nd top plays 2nd bottom in a promotion place. So my main goal this season is 7th, anything above that is a bonus, and just chip away over next few years, hoping for maybe a maximum of 5 years here before I can get promoted...we'll see!
  2. @dkouvfantastic season in the league man can't believe you've won 3 laligas in a row, with Real and Barca im sure throwing the cash about. @Daddyphenomenal season man well done!! I've just hired that HOYD too we can compare his track record for us both! Sore one losing that striker he looks special. Seems good though board dont seem too demanding for next year either which eases the pressure a bit, hoping you get to the champions league groups!
  3. Folks, what's yer thoughts on HOYD importance of attributes & personality, vs actual knowledge of your country. My HOYD left, this guy applied for the job, by far most impressive candidate in terms of judging CA/PA and his model professional personality. But with no knowledge of Belgium, and only 11 in working with youngsters... Do you think it matters? Im gna hire him and give it a few years - any staff remotely decent get poached by A league clubs so he'll not be with my long but hopefully i get a few gems out of it!
  4. @Daddyexcellent man you've made steady progress there, leagues surely in the bag! Whats the Champions League qualification picture look like for Israel?
  5. this thread is tremendous! I don't think i'll have time for it on FM22 as i am attempting the youth challenge but this could be a fun way to start FM 23 in 6 months when it comes out!
  6. @jmarchandooft! Antonio never had a giant sniffing around him? @Muggertsome good young players there, hope u get into the group stage, the 2 ukranian strikers home grown? @Thebakerlike the look of that youth prospect for year one!
  7. 56 goals in 67 apps for u, bloody hell! 1st Polish cap can't be far away.... I hope I'm wrong - but in my experience if you're semi-pro in Scotland it's often only promotion to the premier league that will get u the cash to go pro
  8. Well it's not much of a big deal, but first sniff of international football for one of my homegrown players...at u-18 level! Ward De Vos had a good season so far (we are a point clear at top of 3rd tier in our 2nd season) and this kid looks like he's going to be a decent player.
  9. Look at him for 17!!! If you were a European giant you'd happily hand over £50m for him he's going to be a world star Some promising signs for the future there, good intake and great for the youngsters to win a trophy! Unless I missed it, you need to post a screen shot of Czekanski with those numbers! Schwarts looks incredible, please tell me you got a percentage of next sale in there as Watford are gna sell him for silly money in 2-3 years!
  10. I finally managed a full season with a team after 2-3 failed starts! Chose Belgium, and got KSC Lokeren-Temse. Manager Profile. Season preview had us 2nd, which seemed a lot given we were just promoted, however I soon realised we were 1 of only a handful of professional clubs in the league. A good consistent season saw us win the first part of the league, after which it splits into promotion and relegation play offs. We were 5 points clear, with 5 games to go, and looking good for promotion in our first season. Nothing could surely go wrong, right?!? Wrong! Horrendous injury luck, losing our 3 starting CM's, as well as just a dreadful run of form, saw us lose our final 5 games! Finished 3rd, in what was one of my biggest ever bottling collapses I've had in near 25 years of football management sims! It turned a great season into a horror show for dynamics, oops! Finances a mess too! Transfers. Youth Preview | Intake | Squad view Some of the top players from intake Decent intake, some forwards with high potential which was probably already strongest part of my team. Need some centre backs and fast, my 2 starting CBs are late 30s and very slow - so many goals in this match engine are just punts from keeper over head of my cb putting striker through on goal. Board want to win the league, again I'm one of only 2-3 professional clubs in league, hoping to fine tune the tactic and get off to flyer and get up this season, if I dont i could be gone!
