  1. I think the queueing thing is mad personally. But when you expect to have a million people overall, you absolutely need to get it right, not just for the people in it, bit for the rest of London carrying on around it. As for the pomp and ceremony, this has always been the case, and has always been the plan. It's what happens in a State Funeral
  2. Of course it has been purposely organised. This is literally the traditional plan, just updated for modern day. It's not a conspiracy
  3. It's not about the shopping, but you know that, there's been thousands of NHS appointments cancelled including but not limited to; cancer screenings, 3rd trimester pregnancy exams, surgeries. As well as other peoples actual funerals. The idea that someone has their family funeral postponed for a monarch who didn't even know they existed is grim
  4. It's just the sneering that i think is ridiculous, at this point wilfully misunderstanding the issues around it
  5. Things close on a bank holiday, that's nothing new. What's getting to people, is the number of things extra that don't need to close that are, at short notice, some of which are critical. We've got policing that losing its head (again). It's not really the fault or the request of the Monarchy but even the king (or perhaps more likely his advisers) is seeing the picture it paints and briefing to friendly papers to minimise disruption (although probably too late now)
  6. The comparison between strikes and the monarchy funeral is disingenuous at best considering the reasons behind them. For someone who complains there hasn't been left enough representation, I'm surprised you make arguments that could easily come from a culture war Tory, because it absolutely reads of know your place while belittling the younger generations. Not sure I buy the subtle humour argument either to be frank.
  7. I really want to highlight the NHS treatments being cancelled. THIS WILL ABSOLUTELY KILL SOME OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED. So for someone to shrug this off as mere moaning, is beyond the pale personally
  8. It's ironic you talk of belittling, while generalising and belittling a) an entire generation and b) people put out by this. I assume you're aware that thousands have had surgeries and medical procedures cancelled as a result, and even funerals postponed. Things that are clearly important and matter to them. It's extremely telling that you sweep anyone grumbling about it as anti royal, it's anti British. Incredibly narrow minded to be brutally honest
  9. Actually yes, they are going to be massively tied up. They already are with nearly a million extra people in London this week on top of regular duties. Of all the things getting called off, this is one of the few that makes genuine sense
  10. I found the original time line yesterday. Absolutely grim. They might have banned him for 1 tweet, but you could have done him for a dozen
  11. Faircop were defending the poster initially (they also say they disagreed with what had been said) but it looks like they have deleted their tweets which suggests it was at least as bad or worse than in the article and probably indefensible. Having looked at the posters timeline, he got what he deserved That said, there's worse that fans have said and haven't been banned for. Though I'm arguing that fans should be banned for worse b rather than arguing he shouldnt be banned here
  12. That's not Andrew, and Andrew can't wear his medals either. @hardeepR I think you're right. Will be interesting to see what he turns out in.
  13. I think some people will be in for a shock when they see the rougher side or Bermondsey. Also that queue is definitely getting lashed. You're gonna be there for 24 hours.
  14. Just so everyone is clear, a number of people have actually been charged. So it's not even about "protecting most efficiently" because you'd de-arrest them all.
  15. This is the kind of ******** argument that sees minorities routinely have their rights violated by the police. So I would really like to know if you're going to defend racist policing soon
  16. It's the type of ******** defence that enables action which nearly always impacts the vulnerable and ethnic minorities I'd have slightly (but not much) more time for the police if at any point they had said "look we're not trying to stop you protesting, but you might end up winding a few people up and if you're deep in the crowd we might not be able to get to you, so have a think" or something like that. But so far it looks like they've just come full jackboot in every example
