Now we're over 5 years into the game and this save is all about trying to get the cream of youth into the team, we'll start to look at my historical youth intakes. At the end of every season, I'll go back and look at an intake from my time here at Viktoria Berlin and see if the key prospects worked out? Or if they flamed out, never to be seen again.
So, for this edition, let's look at the Class of 2031 intake
We'll concentrate on the Top 3 DNA prospects, unless there are any notable deviations. The key prospects in this intake were goalkeeper Christian Kurz, left midfielder Andrew Okoye and midfielder Timo Wolf
Christian Kurz
Then. 15 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin
Now. 20 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin
Christian hot-housed for a while in the U-19's, but then quickly progressed to backup, then first team status. In his time at the club, he has made 132 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and assisting 5 times for an average rating of 7.24.
Christian has also made 13 appearances for Germany's U-21 side, scoring 1 goal. In terms of silverware, he has two DfB Pokal & one UEFA Europa League winners medals and was ranked #1 in the 2035 NxGen Awards, along with collecting the Fritz Walther U-17 & U-19 Medals, along with the 2035 European Golden Boy trophy
Andrew Okoye
Then. 15 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin
Now. 20 years old, Fortuna Düsseldorf
Andrew was another good left midfielder in a chokepoint. In his time at the club, he has made 76 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and assisting 9 times for an average rating of 7.21. In January 2036, however, he was sold for £10m + 50% sell on to Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he went to to make 11 appearances for the club with one assist for an average rating of 6.77
Andrew has made 4 appearances for Germany U-21's, scoring one goal and has a decent haul in his medal drawer, picking up UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and DfB-Pokal winners medals.
Timo Wolf
Then. 15 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin
Now. 20 years old, 1. FC Köln
Timo was, in essence, the same as Kurz, although his breakthrough came through earlier. In his time at the club, he made 88 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and assisting 14 times for an average rating of 7.19. Sadly, his MRC was activated in January 2035 and he went off to 1. FC Köln for £17.75m, where he's made 55 appearances for the club already, scoring 2 goals and assisting 8 times for an average rating of 6.94
Timo did well in his time at the club, making two appearances for the full Germany side, after making his debut against the United States in November 2035. He also made 20 appearances for the Germany U-21 side as well, scoring 5 goals and picking up a UEFA U-21 European Championship winners medal! In terms of personal honours, Timo has the 2033 Vereinigung der Vertragsfußballspieler award for best newcomer, also winning the Fritz Walther U-19 medal and coming runner-up in the 2034 Nx-Gen Awards, to go with his UEFA Europa League and DfB Pokal winners medals.
