  1. Unfortunatly you cannot change a competition rules in an existing save. The only way to do so is to edit the league rules in the pre-game editor and restart.
  2. The main benefits of the advanced editor are you can create much more accurate competitions, or create the most complex things you can imagine, including multistage completions and interconnected completions. The basic editor is just that basic. But there are many downsides to it It's not very forgiving, it is very hard to learn and in places not very intuitive, it provides very little guidance. It's very bloated, with so many options clearly added for one specific competition. It will fail to run at times without giving you a clear reason why. But when you can create something you dreamt up I find it very rewarding, much more so that the basic editor. First place to start is to find an existing country you are interesting in, and open it up and see how it's been done.
  3. Adds the extra officials that stand behind the hgoalines at each end of the pitch, as used in European Competitions from 2010 (not sure if they are still used?)
  4. Despite the annoyance of this topic being started 3 times I would have a serious think about the practicalities of what you are asking. That is on average 80 clubs for each nation in Europe. Only 3 country's in the game have that many playable clubs England, Spain and Italy. And then some countries do not come close to that number in total Liechtenstein (7) San Marino (15), gibralter (11) Fareos (17) etc
  5. when you run a test make sure you simulate down to level 2 at least, if you only do the top tier it will have nowhere to pull the lower division team from to make it work if the lower division is inactive, you can add the following AZZURIAN REPULBLIC 1407x2 (IAM).fmf
  6. File attached Samsara 2.0.3.fmf date issue partially resolved, so it will now run, just the transfere windows and squad resistration date make no sense Important things to look for setting up when a version should run Adding additional teams due to expansion also if you want a league to start at a later date you need to include it but with no stages
  7. It has to be done in advanced to set up the years for each format. I will uploaded the file with the broken dates later, it hopefully show how it works
  8. You can get the league system you change as often as you like. But it can get very fiddly. For a second version of my fictional nation I have a file to generate a realistic league history. It starts on 1921 (obviously 2021 in game) and runs for 100 years constantly changing the league structure from 1 tier of 10 teams all the way to 192 teams In 5 tiers after 70 years. I did get it working perfectly, apart from teams dominating for the entire 100 years but Unfortunately I have managed to screw up the dates and the 2021-22 season starts in 2001, so I'm working on fixing it. This took a lot of time and hundreds of tests. The biggest issues I found were, keeping track of when you want teams to enter and how many in each division, I complicated this by shinking leagues at times. Also making sure everyone enters cups at the correct stage.
  9. Usually it will automatically use points as the first ranking method even if its not been included in the list. But average points will be used as the first metric instead if its included and at the top of the list, and total points will not be used at all. I have done something similar to rank teams who played a varying number of games.
  10. Check you have set up the Team order for the top 3 in the History page
  11. to get the teams from the higher league set as follows to get the teams from the lower divsion Ive attacehd a files with the playoff between the first and second tier set had a quick play with the U19, first off I can see that all disions are set at level 0, number of teams are not set and the dates are not set, but ive not set a reserves competition up this way so it still only works randomly when i test 790647587_AZZURIANREPUBLIC1407x2 (IAM).fmf
  12. Similar question raised the other day on the Advanced page. Example taken from Germany shown
  13. It is a bit confusing best explanation I've found is this, only covers qualifying though Group stage wise, if you finish 3rd in the Champions League or Europa League you drop down to the lower completion and play in the 1st knockout round against a second placed team. 1st place get a bye yo 2nd knockout round This result in a really weird scenario in that you can qualify for the CL 3rd qualifying round, lose both games, end up in the EL playoff, lose both of those. Then end up in the ECL group stage, and lose all 6 games. So you could play 10 games in Europe and lose them all!
  14. Heres an example from a file of mine Stage 0 is a group stage and Stage 1 is a knockout stage So in the Team Mapping from Previous Stage I have the 24 teams qualify for this stage (top 3 from each group) so team index goes 0 through to 23 Team index 0 is set to the team finishing 1st (0) in group A in stage 0 and so on. then in round 0 I have the following under cup tie mappings (first place in each group is geeting a bye, so only 8 games) Match 0 has teams 13 vs 17 and so on round 1 as follows Team 0 vs winner of match 0 from round 0 and so on Round 2 as follows so the winner of match 0 in round 1 vs winner of match 1 in round 1 Hope this helps
  15. No Idea what was happening or why, but I have found a work around Stage 0 (League Stage) - 26 Games Stage 1 (Championship Group) - 10 Games, final standings ahve the teams playing 36 games Stage 2 (Relegation Stage) - 10 Games, thsi stage is hidden Stage 3 (Relegation Stage) - 36 games from combining stages 0 and 2, not pretty but works just fine, relegation happens when all 36 agem srae played
  16. Definatly is the cross group play, if I remove this then everything runs just fine
  17. Im having a little play around and trying a few things in the editor I have a 14 team top tier, everyone plays 26 games, then the league splits in 2, top 6 to championship group, bottom 8 to relegation stage (consistong of 2 groups of 4). Both stages pull through the table from the league stage and play a final 10 games. The championship group works just fine, but Im having issues with the relegation stage, relegation and playoff positions are being allocated before the games in this stage are played As you can see the relegation stage (stage 2) is set up and finished on the same date, i think this may be something to do with the cross group play, teams have only played the 26 games from the league stage not the final 10 and fates have already been decided LUX.fmf
  18. you will have to access teh advanced rules fo rthe Bundesliga League stage has the following qualification rules Cup stage, has the following teams with the fate actions set up thus in 2.Bundesliga the only thing needed in the League stage qualification rules is
  19. From what I can see from your explanation you have set up 2 playoff, a relegation playoff in div 1 and a promotion playoff in division 2, when what you are trying to do is just to have one playoff to do both. When trying to to do this, or anything, it's always a good idea to have a look at the advanced rules for an existing league with a similar set up in the editor. In this case I would suggest Germany if you have on 2 teams, Scotland if you want more. I spend a lot of my time when I edit with on old version open so I can just copy the manually rules into my file. When setting up a rel/prom play off make sure to check the Fate Actions, as this will determine what happens in each scenario.
  20. Back in 2018 clubs in the Netherlands agreed to distribute a portion of their European prize mony amonst all of teh teams in the Eredivisie https://apnews.com/article/81610ef8c4404972bbd6deeb10834af8 (I dont know if this is still the case) But does anybody know a way of doing so in the editor, I've checekd 21 and 22 editor and cant see any mention of it under the Dutch rules, or any way of including it
  21. Ive been trying for a while to solve this one and im strill struggling. I have a playoff with 28 teams competing for 4 playoff spots, the 28 teams are seeded 4 through to 31 (seeds 0 to 3 are doing someting else that works just fine). IN which in each round the higest remainaing seed will always play the lowest remaining seed I have the round defaults set up in the first round seeds 4-7 get a bye, so 12 games are matched up correctly as so 8 vs 31, 9 vs 30, and so on up to 19 vs 20, in this test all the higher seeds win (8-19) and are then joined by 4-7, and once again set up correctly 4 vs 19, though to 11 vs 12 once again all the higher seeds qualify, apart from the game highlighted in which seed 17 qualified, so the 8 seeds in the final round are 4,5,7,8 as the highest 4, expected to be at home, against 9,10,11,17 and should be matched up as follows 4 vs 17, 5 vs 11, 7 vs 10 and 8 vs 9, but the following happens If the top seeds always qualify then everything runs smoothly, but as soon as a lower seed wins a game, the matchups just go to pot
