  1. I've been able to cancel a transfer the board have tried to do before on a past FM. I think I just went to the player and either went to Contract or Transfer and could back out of the contract offer/transfer offer.
  2. Leça FC Season 2 - 2025/26 Liga 3 North First Stage - 6th (Relegation Stage North - 1st) I made it! Two whole seasons and I didn't get sacked. Portugal is wild, man. If you don't finish in the top 4, you're fighting relegation and points don't really carry over to the Relegation stage - you start with 1 bonus point per position you finished in the table. We actually started on fire and I thought we were certs for the promotion group, but then a run of horrendous form followed. You gotta realise, there's only 18 games in the First Stage. This accounted for over half of the matches. Some of these games were rigged though. I'm telling you. RIGGED. We really struggled defensively. Here is a list of the things that we couldn't deal with: Long shots, corners, free-kicks, crosses, cut-backs, passes, through balls, dribbles, long balls, short passes, shots, headers, volleys, anyone entering our final third with the ball, a gentle breeze. After I had praised the entire squads conduct, criticised/praised their form, training and last match and had a Team Meeting, we finally won a game in the first Relegation Stage match and proceeded to "win" the group. Oh and financially we are an absolute shambles, currently sitting at (£628,744). How does one make money in Portugal, pray tell? The Squad Top Scorer/Top Assister/Player of the Season - Lucas Gomes - Lmao, can anyone else say one man team? Best developer - Bruno Neto 25c - Professional personality has seen a stark improvement in attributes, Key defender - Ibrahim Muhammad - Need to keep hold of him, is the only DC at the club with any ability. The Intake The preview keeps promising much and then slightly under-delivering. Although the PAs seem to be jumping around a bit more than they used to. The guy I tagged as "26e" now has 5* PA. Next Season
  3. A useful, albeit cheesy, tip for lower league wages is to include a clause of "Wage after 1 international appearances" and put it to the max. Do not do this for players with minnow nationalities (caribbean islands for instance) but for your English and other decent nationality lads, you can get them to agree to lower wages - often £100-200 less per week. You can also include the maximum bonus for Winning FA Cup, Reaching FA Cup FInal, Reaching FA Cup Semi. Obviously will never happen but can also weight the negotiation in your favour. 1 Year contracts are the norm in the National League North. Try and renew them early rather than letting them run down till the end of the season. You need those legacy players for a few seasons.
  4. Leça FC Season One - 2024/25 Campeonate Nacional Prio - 1st (Promotion Stage 2nd - Promoted) In the words of Miss Spears - oops, I did it again. Another first season promotion. Nah, I think we'll be alright. I feel it vindicates everything I believed in my previous save - my tactic is super solid and I just need enough seasons to get the youth rolling in without getting the sack. As an aside, Portugal is lovely, 26-32 match seasons - a far cry from the pure grind that is England. One match a week! No panicking about fatigue. We crashed out of the cup in the first round, and we've haemorrhaged money, ending up -£300k even with a £160k board injection. Any upgrades and coaching badges look a long way off. The Squad Started with a moderately youngish squad with a couple of standouts. We're gonna struggle at centre-back, as one starter is now 37 and we don't have much in the way of cover. Top Scorer - Lucas Gomes - 20 goals from the young swede but he's asked to leave. Top Assister - Zé Domingos - Runs and crosses and crosses and runs. Player of the Season - Fábio Borges - One of the only 2 CMs I have in the squad but super reliable. The Intake They're a ways off being ready to start many games - but it's a start. Next Season Stay up! For the love of god stay up and don't get sacked.
  5. Tell me about it, I couldnt get one at Redditch. Was it the same "it's a good idea but we don't want to lose you to a bigger club" rubbish? Absolutely infuriating.
  6. My "break from this stupid game" lasted less than one evening. I'm addicted, okay? Leave me alone, I've had a rough time of it in FM24, that last sacking was utterly brutal. I'm going somewhere I've never managed before on FM, a country I went on holiday to irl this year and absolutely loved, Portugal. We're taking over Leça, a club that had a little spell in the top flight in the 90's but have been languishing in obscurity ever since. Let's hope after 2 sackings, my fourth go is more successful. We've got really solid facilities which should serve as an easier start than the masochism that is Redditch United, although my managerial support is Very Poor and will take a coaching badge or two to correct.
  7. Gutted. We got relegated from the National League, but we were way out of our depth. The board only wanted me to bravely fight against relegation and we were dead certs to go down. Ridiculous really. If I'd scraped survival in my first season I could have built in the National North with no issue. Turns out the right play would have been to sabotage my promotion in the first season. Need a break from this stupid game for a while.
  8. Redditch United Season 1 - 2024/25 Vanarama National North - 1st (Champions) Unbe-freaking-lievable. I might be a Rain Man level tactical savant genius: either that or copying Pep's 3-2-5 just breaks football. No seriously, Redditch suck. We just hit form and with the best defence in the league (conceding 54 goals, lol) we just ground out victory after victory. I play with Redditch a lot and never would have conceived this was possible with the starting team. It wasn't all a success though, as is standard for this level we haemorrhaged money, ending up (£60,878). I couldn't get a coaching badge either, nor could I get any recruitment upgrades and half the squad is unhappy because i don't have enough depth at centre-back. Unfortunately, the one thing that could make a difference to the finances is a good cup run. Getting to the FA Cup 3rd round is a massive windfall. We got some rotten luck with tough away draws, however, and we crashed out of both cups early. That's the winning lottery ticket right there though, there's always next season. We are also destined to lose our best DR and AML on free transfers, as they are refusing to sign new contracts. My starting DMC will also leave, as being the ringleader of the squad unrest is also refusing to sign a new deal. The Squad Somehow this ramshackle squad of 17 players are champions. Here are the real winners: Johnny Johnston - MC - 17 goals / 11 assists as CM(A). Aram Soleman - AMR - This guy has never delivered for me on this scale before. 15 goals/15 assists as Winger(A). Jenson Cooper - ST - Very limited but he can jump a bit. Top scorer with 20 goals. The Intake Oooh "golden generation", but highest is a C. I don't believe your lies, HoYD. Platt's actually a great lad - although 5* PA doesn't mean much with my awful facilities. I signed up pretty much everyone just to provide depth. Next Season Oh boy. Survive. Cup run if possible. Try not to lose legacy players who are my only hope. Getting promoted this quickly can be devastating in these saves.
  9. Right! Had a couple of goes when the beta early advanced access was released, but struggled, so I went and did a cheeky little Journeyman save to get my head around FM24 and refresh. I'm doing it, again. For realsies this time, honest! If I quit, or stop posting you have permission to come to my house and break my ankles. I want my name on that damn leaderboard! I (obviously) know this club, I know the team, and I've got a tactic that I know will work, so I'm gonna fly through these first few seasons and get those newgens rolling in.
  10. You can. Go to Preferences, type Skin into the search bar, click Skin Colours. You can change Standard Ball and Winter Ball colours there.
  11. So team-talks are still bugged and body language still reverts back to default regardless of how well the team talk goes. That is incredibly disappointing.
  12. 1) National B - the 2nd badge. Every other manager in the league, except one, has some level of continental badge. The exception has National A. I'd see your point if i was asking for continental pro - but the national licences are like, baby's first coaching badges. 2) Investing in your staff in the same way you invest in players. I 'think' the National B badge costs £400 in-game. An absolute pittance. Particularly when the 225k in the bank is money I've made from overwhelmingly good performance (great cup run). I personally dont think the flipsides really offer much other than a contrived roadblock. I'd imagine IRL managers pay for their own coaching badges and do so in their own time. Also, i appreciate the response. This just wound me up as I've been asking for a badge for 18 months in-game now.
  13. I really, really wish this wasn't part of the game, SI. I fail to see how this even remotely resembles how interactions of this manner take place in real life. There is no employer on earth who would be so brazen as to say this to their employees face - let alone be dumb enough to put it formally in writing. I'd be quitting my job immediately and be straight to the papers if this actually happened to me. Do chairpeople have the final decision on whether a manager can take a coaching badge IRL? Do clubs often refuse to allow their staff to better themselves? I know it's going to boil down to a number in the chairman's attributes. Probably his ambition or something. This whole system is arbitrary, overly gamey, unfun, unrealistic. Before anyone tries to offer justifaction - we have £225k in the bank and I'm top of the National North with A+ board feedback.
  14. Oh don't get my hopes up. Hope is a dangerous thing, my friend, it can kill a man.
  15. LFA Reggio Calabria Season 1 - Intake Preview Best position is a C, but Golden Generation. Not sure quite how that works out, but we shall see.
  16. I hired people through the staff search screen without issue. However, the most I could offer a physio was £140 per week, which no-one would accept. The minimum a staff member will accept at that level is £150 and always has been. So i was unable to recruit any physios.
  17. Scotland had bugs with U18 teams last year (iirc you couldn't demote a player to an U18 team). I've definitely been able to ask for U18/reserve teams before at clubs - but I can't speak specifically for the club you're at. The reality is the game isn't designed to be played the way we play it, taking charge of unplayable teams .
  18. You don't actually have an U18s team as Redditch. There might be a player in there but you cant view the squad because the squad doesn't exist. If you've moved the player out you're all good.
  19. Let me know how your finances in Italy go. I'm losing £150k a month, mostly to 'non-footballing costs' and get about 800 fans per game - which seems mad for a 'fallen giant', Not sure if it's bugged.
  20. Is there no way, during a match, to disable the option for a player with 2 goals to take penalties? I can see the tickbox in the main Tactics > Penalties panel, but cannot see how to uncheck it during a match. And yes, my 7 Penalty Taking winger just scuffed one when he was on 2 goals, to cost us the game.
  21. Welp - first attempt was an utter disaster. Won 1 game in 18. So, in the words of Monty Python, and now for something completely different. You may better know this club as Reggina, a club that's had a rather tumultuous decade after being declared bankrupt in 2015 - changed their name 3 times in 4 years, and then finally getting kicked out of the 2nd tier for financial irregularities. Reggina had a spell of 7 consecutive top flight football between 2003-2009, so it's time to get them back. 27543 capacity stadium, Adequate facilities, I love clubs like this.
