Leça FC Season Eight - 2031/32 Liga Portugal Bwin - 13th Survival assured. This was a big year, however. We've finally broken even - with all our monthly expenditure on loan repayments etc, the £2.5m TV money we receive each year in this league just about means we stay in the black. Now, my sponsorship payment (should) just give us pure profit and I can start to invest that into facilties. I managed to negotiate further upgrades to the Junior Coaching and the Youth Recruitment, so we're ticking along there and will hopefully see some higher PA youngsters start coming through. Just one I can sell to a big club would financially make us. I also did end up getting a second coaching course, after winning a couple of games and telling the board "after everything I've done for this club, this is the least you could do for me". Tactically, I've flip-flopped a bit this season. My striker hasn't been my top scorer for 3 seasons and I'm unsure if its the tactic or just because of the player's limitations I'm somehow overcoming. The Intake The best preview yet. Can it deliver? Semedo is pretty close to breaking into the first team. I'll give him sub appearances next season. The rest need mentoring and probably a year or two of youth football. Was really hoping for a couple that would just be instantly better than my existing squad, we really aren't very good. edit AHHHHH WHAT. Two days after I post this, my sponsorship comes in. The "losing me to a better team" has been the reason given all the way until I got to the top division. I have made a bug report on it, it's so massively overtuned. It'll be some random attribute of the chairperson that's the sole decider.

This feature is B R O K E N this year. We're mid-table first season in the top division, we have lost the last 2 games, but we won the 2 before that. Just flat out plain busted. I've managed to get 1 badge in 8 years, btw.

Leça FC Season Seven - 2030/31 Liga Portugal 2 - 3rd (Won Play-offs) It's the double whammy of consecutive promotions. In-fact, when the final whistle went on my 34th and final game of the season I was in first place. I'd won the league, but there were no celebrations. No trophy lift. Was it bugged? Nope. Casa Pia had performed the most almighty of comebacks, scoring two last minute goals to win their game and win the league. Fair play to them - it meant I faced the 3rd bottom team from the division above in a two legged play-off final. I would like to say I was calm, but in all honesty these two games have taken 10 years off my life. They missed a penalty, they hit the woodwork 3 times, we scored a scrappy goal against the run of play in the first leg to steal a win. I don't care. We're up. And oh boy might it be a godsend, because our finances continue to deteriorate. Thankfully the maniac who promised to build a new stadium should he win our election ended up losing. The guy who has pulled all the strings has been CM(At) Maurício Rivelino 28c, scoring 11 and assisting 13. We once again struggled in attack, so I just started playing Jakub Kaźmierczak 28a to try and brute force some growth. He'll be the main striker from now on after a very solid end to the season after I switched him to a DLF(Su). The Intake A 'meh' preview ended up being a really solid intake. However, I have noticed that the HoYD massively overweighs a players CA when determining their PA. I've had players rated Elite but they just do not develop and I think they come through the intake almost at their peak, but with a higher CA than the rest. This means, I won't really know how good any of these are for another couple of seasons. Sol will go straight into the first team though.

No, we started with a 12k stadium. The board then sold it to build a 2.5k stadium for £2.3m. Which they are then expanding to a total of 4.9k for another £2.9m. It's madness.

It's now 2030. I just got promoted to the Portuguese 2nd division - have been at the club for 2192 days. Just got refused a National C coaching badge again. This is absolutely insane, SI. A response would be nice.

Leça FC Season Six - 2029/30 Liga 3 North First Stage - 1st Promotion Stage - 1ST! *CHAMPIONS* Five seasons in this division and we're out (for now). We fought hard. A lot of those victories were close, and were build on mean defence - conceding just 23 goals in 32 games. The flipside of that is that we just couldn't score - at least our strikers couldn't. Main man Lucas Gomes only managed to hit 8, going on two goal droughts, and the top scorer actually ended up being my DM Ibrahim Muhammad who also scored 8 (from corners). How do I solve that? Dunno, that's a problem for future me - for now we celebrate. The younger lads are developing nicely - led by the Perfectionist GK Danildo Évora 28b who is now firmly my number 1. In other mental news: LMAOOO. WHYYYY!? We HAD a 12k stadium. We're now nearly £6m in debt. I'm begging there to be more money in the next division up. Please. Even just enough to break even every month. I see now how so many Portuguese clubs have been relegated due to financial difficulties in recent times... The Intake The striker actually isn't too bad - especially given our struggles in that position this season. He's a long, long way off though. Next Season Stay in the second tier, hope for money. If we can't break even and save up for some upgrades this challenge will get very difficult very quickly. Maybe I might even be allowed to get my first coaching badge.

Check in 6-12 months if you can negotiate an early buy-out for that clause. It might be for more like £8m, but that much guaranteed immediately in your bank is much better than potentially £10m+ at some vague point in the future, imo.

Leça FC Season 5 - 2028/29 Liga 3 North First Stage - 1st Promotion Stage - 4th Another season done, another year in the Liga 3 awaits: the league where financial mismanagement is rife and where hopes and dreams go to get snuffed out. In all seriousness it was a good season - we brought through some youngsters and I'm developing a picture of the squad that can get us to the next division. The promotion stage is so competitive, we lost the last game to Porto B - we win that and we were in the play-offs. Financially, still an absolute mess. The move to the tiny stadium means my pre-season moneymaker friendly against Porto now brings in 80% less money. Great financial management, board. The Squad Lucas Gomes is still the man scoring all the goals. Infact the supply to him was so poor this year that he was also top assister. One winger had a travesty of a season and the other is 33 and is on the decline. Maurício Rivelino 28c - started bring this lad through at CM. Have high hopes for him. He's gone from 3 silver CA to 1.5 CA. There about 4 of them hovering around that mark and with another season under their belts I think they'll be challenging to be regulars. A lot of the rest of the squad are kind of just there. No-one is lighting up the league. The Intake It's actually a load of rubbish. No idea what happened to the A striker. Not showing any - waste of screenshot space. The drop to my youth facilities has hurt our intakes and with no money on the horizon I'm just hoping that a promotion will let me upgrade the facilities. Next Season We could make a cheeky little promotion push, if the stars align and we can put a run together in the promotion stage.

Leça FC Season 4 - 2027/28 Liga 3 North First Stage - 7th Relegation Stage - 2nd An average season as we just tread water hoping to develop players good enough to get us out of the league. I have noticed that intake PAs seem to fluctuate wildly. For instance, this player was rated as a 3* PA when I got him and I tagged him 11th prospect that intake. He's now by far my best defender. Don't sleep on your unfancied prospects, especially those with good personalities. I imagine it's to do with my HoYDs low Judging Player Potential. I'm at the point where I'm going to oversee a huge transition to purely newgens. The legacy players are ok, there's still 5 that I consider first-teamers, but they are never going to develop into players that will play in the division above. Next season will probably be a rocky one. Financially - still a mess. We get just about into the black and then end the season -£500k. For the brief period we had money, I was refused a National C coaching badge because they could lose me to a bigger club. RAGE INDUCING. I'm a favoured personnel and have been here 4 years. This is overtuned way too much this year. The Intake Because of his personality, this lad is the best of a bad bunch this year. I'm gonna give him some games and see how accurate that PA is. Next Season Stay in the division, blood youngsters, pray for a 200PA wonderkid to sell.

It might be to do with my facilities/staff but: Is anyone else seeing no development in their players technical attributes? And even in some cases pure reduction? Like, their mentals grow a lot and their physicals, but their technicals just aren't growing.

Based on what a few of you have said (thank you btw), I'm continuing my save. I'm enjoying Portugal, I think I've just gotta get through this first wall. Had a bit of a brainwave, too. Free money and will actually get us into the black for the first time this save.

Leça FC Season 3 - 2026/27 Liga 3 North First Stage - 1st Promotion Stage - 5th The Intake They're all bad. Seriously not worth showing. Winger with Crossing 4 and Dribbling 5 levels of bad. Awful intake. Next Season With such a disappointing intake, the insane decision to move stadium, the complete lack of money, we're just treading water. At my lowest ebb now - I don't know how to dig out of this.

This is perhaps the most monumentally stupid idea I've ever witnessed. Oh GREAT idea. Let's spend money we don't have, on a new stadium we don't need which has a capacity 9500 LESS THAN OUR CURRENT ONE. What the $^%("£(^!? We wont be able to build a bigger one for 25 years. Seriously, this has killed my desire to carry on this save. We're £500k in the red already. I haven't been able to get a single coaching badge because we cant afford it and the board are off spending millions on a stadium 20% the size of our existing one.

It can happen, I got this guy in the National League North on FM23. This is him on intake day. Best player I've ever had (and probably will ever have)relative to the quality of the league/squad. I still see him rinsing the defenders of the VNN when I close my eyes at night.
