Maybe my current save is an exception but I’ve scored plenty of goals with my inside forward or inverted winger dribbling past 3/4 players and bending one in the corner.

I would suggest you re-think your tactical set-up. My inside forward scores for fun.

Currently just over half way through my 2nd season with Utd and it is pretty tough. Although managed to finish 3rd and win the FA Cup (beat Pool semi-final and City in the final) I was a fair bit behind Liverpool who just blew everyone away. Scoring well over 100 goals in the process. This season had started pretty poor, especially away from home, where my main tactic was far too attacking and left far too many gaps in the middle and in behind. Have now changed to a much more solid starting tactic which is still scoring a decent amount of goals but conceding far less. Think it is something like 12 wins and 1 loss (Pool at home 1-0) since changing. Now very much in contention for the title but it could be any one from five (including West Ham!!!). Anyway, hopefully I have found the right tactic that just needs the occasional tweak going forward. I have not signed a single player over 18 as well as it is a self imposed rule to make it slightly more difficult (well in the earlier years at least). I was contemplating using the academy only but thought I may get bored as I do like scouting for young upcoming players.

Quite fancy reading a few of the ones posted but before I do would like to know how transferrable is the information from previous versions to FM23? Is what is discussed still relatable to FM23 and principles still, for the most part, the same? Or has there been just too much major changes to the ME that most of what is written is no longer applicable?

Sorry to jump into someone else's question but just like to see how you would approach this tactically. Currently I use OI's to trigger the press to a specific area, so teams playing with 2 DM's and WB's I might trigger the press on all and occasionally tackle harder for it to be more aggressive. Or if using a back four I might trigger the press on all 4 defender's if I am looking to completely dominate some of the weaker teams at home. Would you use the 'mark area' part of the player instructions to achieve this instead?

Well done! How are you going about this save, are you signing all nationalities or just Sammarinese players? Some results for the NT, I think I've tried to play too cautiously with them and failed miserably. Well played as you would expect San Marino to play anyway.

How do you increase the scouting pool area for the National Team?

Out of interest, are you signing anyone for Victor San Marino or only Sammarinese players? Think I’ve made a tough enough challenge even tougher with limiting my player base!

Have started with Victor San Marino in the Eccellenza. Decided to go down the route of only signing players that are eligible for the San Marino national team and using my youth academy graduates. Might be a short lived save as the board want to get promoted to Serie D straight away.

It seems to now be working! Subscribed to another custom DB and opened up FM23 and can now select different add-ons. Let the fun begin!

Hi mate, This is what I had tried and the database part in the top right is greyed out and I am not able to select it. Do I need to pay extra to have this enabled? OR having something selected in preferences etc? Any help appreciated! Thanks

Hi all, I have never used a custom built database before and looking for a complete idiots guide on how to get this set-up. I am planning on going the Sammarinese team that plays in the 5th tier of Italian football and rise through the leagues while also managing the San Marino national team. Could someone please be kind enough to detail a step by step guide on how to do this? I have followed the links for the San Marino database and the Italy D5 database and hit subscribe to both, but can't seem to select any different database's in the top right on FM23. Looking forward to getting this save started, currently have a Cueta one on the go trying to get an team on mainland Africa to win the Champs League. Thanks.
