No, it was confirmed to me that if a Dribbling score is higher then that increases the number of dribble attempts

I want to know what else it does

You misinterpreted my extreme example In explaining how many single attributes combine to make successful acts happen in the game. It certainly wasn’t me that confirmed it either.

Even when Man U were a Europa level team they kept dominating the league in the older FMs. Could be that their players stats are favoured more by the engine somehow.

Can't alter past FMs but there is a chance that FM22 could be discussed further during its lifecycle. Not sure how (or why) Man Utd's stats could be favoured over other teams stats tbh.

The Man United researcher is terrible, and the fact that the stats get signed off on is crazy. It's been this way for years though so nothing will change.

Have you offered the Man Utd researcher in the Beta EPL Database forum with detail/evidence for him to consider to the contrary?

Mid-year SI give each team a scaled CA squad target based upon their current performance/record that researchers have to hit and not exceed. Last year Man Utd were second in the EPL so their CA would have been logically set quite high. Liverpool had a poor second half of the year and scraped third place - this was reflected in the teams CA being lower than the previous year when we won the Premiership.

(Can't believe I'm sticking up for Man Ure here) :ackter:

    Virgil Van Dijk

Leadership is 16, should be 19.

Liverpool are a different team when he is playing.

He sends confidence throughout the entire team. He is like John Terry was, always shouting, organising, giving off complete leadership energy.

When Liverpool lost him last season that was the key reason they didn't challenge for the title.

Now is back Liverpool are back in great form.

Id also suggest increasing both his strength and Jumping Reach from 17 to 18.

Troy Deeney, one of the strongest players to ever play Premier League, and a player who was great in the air, he said in an interview he thinks Van Dijk is so good that he hates him:

    https://talksport.com/football/426273/troy-deeney-hates-virgil-van-dijk-because-liverpool-big-strong-quick-good-hair/

VVD hasn't been touched since he was at the top of his game - Ballon d'Or runner-up / Best Fifa Men's Player and then obviously his big injury. I don't think he's back to that level yet either. So if he's increased in certain areas that needs offsetting elsewhere.

Can you post any further comments in the new 2022 forum for ease

    Thanks, interesting responses.

Id also recommend Kostas Tsimikas has his tossing ability increased from 11.

The guy is a crossing demon, he is awesome at it and its probably his strongest overall attribute.

He has played 5 games so far this season yet is already 18th in the Premier league stats for crosses achieved.

    See: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/total_cross

He really whips them in beautifully.

Id actually say there's a case that he is as good or better at closing than Robertson.

His crossing is 15 not 11. Have you got the Beta? Is he better than Robbo? Can't get too carried away after 5 games.

Happy with Hendo that he's spot on. Koumetio has certain attributes set to random iirc.

Had a quick look at FM22, staff is the same mess at the start as always.

Inglethorpe, Krawietz, Rydings and Kornmayer have dual jobs which lowers their coaching performance, so need to offer new contracts to just 1 job if you want good training stars.

Nat Phillips has an odd value of 70k-180k

I have reflected the 'mess' as their roles appear in real life - Kornmayer I have requested his second role be deleted.

I don't set values so Phillips is an odd one

  7. @2feet Only just seen this - its now in the old forum. Thanks for your opinions on Salah, Training Facilities and Jota.

Salah - Dribbling isn't a standalone attribute. Balance, Composure, Technique, Decisions all have a part to play. Salah has had a good size CA increase and that caters for all those elements. His Man City / Watford worldies were phenomenal but he makes a lot of dribble attempts that go nowhere, losing control/possession or getting tackled/blocked.

Training Facilities - not sure about this, as I've already set both Training and Youth Facilities to the maximum in the DB?!? Edit - in the Beta Training Facilities is state-of-the-art and Youth facilities are superb

Jota - Again Heading isn't a standalone attribute - he has to be in the right position to receive the ball in the first place for instance - however this attribute has been increased.

  8. Hi Gents

Looking at a new laptop for FM22, but not bought a laptop for c5 years so out of the loop of whats good or not. So any advice is welcome.

Ideally for FM; 3D ME high settings, 5/6 leagues at most, large DB.

Spec-wise; SSD, dedicated graphics card ? (though currently have NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M that has caused lots of issues even at lower settings), 15" or 17" screen, good build quality (have a Lenovo that is disappointing build-wise), future proofed as much as poss

Other use; web, streaming/Netflix/Spotify, online research (of course)

    Budget; c£600 +/- c£50 (realistic?)

Did see these, but open to your guys alternative suggestions...

  9. @tv_capper

Many thanks for the post. I’ve got Ray Shearwood (only found that his job changed yesterday as he was watching the u18 game and got name checked) and Maciej Herba in my next submission. But not heard of Jamie Blair, Nathan Davies or Harry Carmen. Excellent work

Edit: Jamie Blair's background is in IT so he might not be on the Football side of Analysis at all

  10. @ClarkKent1

Salah - Salah's (and Robertson) performance this season has not been at the same level as it has over the previous two seasons. He has scored still hence why his scoring based attributes are the same but his overall performances have been inconsistent like every Liverpool player this season. Penalty Taking could be increased slightly but that isn't the only attribute that constitutes successful penalties. Your suggestions show no offset to your increases and I don't believe his CA should be increased.

Robertson - that is your opinion that he's been Player of the Season / quoted match ratings. I do agree he seems to be one of our most consistent performers but I reiterate his levels aren't quite the same as they have been over the previous few seasons. I don't have any input on Silva. He has had a CA increase this season btw.

TAA - I simply thought it was a tad to high.

Alisson - Fair point on your reasoning.

Matip - His constant injuries contribute to his Natural Fitness not being as high as others

Thiago - regards his style of play; he has yet to adapt to the English style of football, he was injured for a decent amount of time that he has had to recover from and become sharp, he has played predominately as a DM for us and he's not a Fabinho, he has not played in front of a settled nor our best defensive partnership, his tackling has been rash in that position, he has started to play slightly further upfield recently which his passing and positioning play seems to be better suited in our system, our furthest two midfielders tend to be more supportive/ ball carrying - yet if that his role has not had massive opportunity to learn that role, he has made some good tackles but his timing and possible physicality / concentration are off.

Liverpool's Rhys Williams is playing for Wales Under 21s on my save, but to my knowledge, despite his very Welsh-sounding name, he doesn't qualify for Wales. I've performed a few Google searches and can't find any mention of it.

Thanks for that. I am not aware that he can represent Wales, he was born in Preston and played at various national levels for England - though I don't know about his parentage.

    regarding to Liverpool square rating

    Salah:

I can seldom see Salah freekick hit the target.

after search in internet, I find this:

    https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-fans-lambast-klopps-decision-give-free-kicks-salah/

and now, even Robertson is choose to tick freekick rather then salah left foot.

(btw, do the database and researcher on phase about free kick near corner and a real corner?)

I do think salah freekick should be downgrade to 11, with VVD (at lease VVD don't walk in to take direct freekick. I know on early year VVD have that skill but I do think seldom train will make him forgot how to do it, at lease we dont see him in liverpool take direct freekick)

    Milner:

he already not used to be Left or Right MF, but he would sometime deploy on Both Leftback and Right back. For me I would lower L/R MF rating at lease, and try to upper his leftback/right back. (to just compare, we see Milner on duty Leftback/Rightback than Lallana on DMF)

to compensate for the CA, I would lower his Acc/Pace by 1 point and L/R MF rating.

    Henderson:

I do think his work rate should be further upper as he was nonstop to run and press and also cover defend position.

Also, his home reputation is far more than we think. His reputation also makes him the no. 1 player on England and Liverpool team sheet.

    https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/405313-jordan-henderson-wins-liverpool-s-men-s-player-of-the-season-award

But I would also recommend lower his jumping ability as he seldom fight win for header (I know he is 182cm and cannot rate too low, but he really bad on jump off the ground)

    Gomes:

I do not think he is good at jumping.

Like above, I know he is 188cm so you would not give a bad rating but we can see him easy lose header without VVD, Matip present.

I will only give him 13 for jumping and 13 for heading.

on some report before that he is the quickest player on the field. I understand Salah and Mane may have a better acclaration, but i would give gomez a 18 in pace also.

    https://liverpoollatestnews.com/top-5-fastest-liverpool-players-132405/

    VVD:

As the above link, I will also give 17 for Pace.

    For whole team:

I don't know why, after a champions cup winner and EPL winner, no player have any is rating over 18. (except new comer Tiago which is rate by other)

I have a feeling, that to make sure the rating not go over 18, need to upper other rating to make up the current ability...(its just feel, sorry if I say sth wrong or too offensive, O...finally I see henderson leadership...)

stop here first...for first day :)

@bananahk I agree with Salah and VVD regards free kicks - neither of them hardly take direct free kicks for Liverpool.

I'm happy with Milner as being 'accomplished' in those positions for now - he has the stamina to play back and forth in those positions still.

Hendo's Work Rate is 18 which again I'm ok with.

Gomez Jumping Reach could come down -1. Pace could go up +1. Neither though would make any noticeable affect in game I don't believe.

VVD's Pace I'm ok with, don't underestimate Anticipation attribute as you don't get too many straight sprint races with VVD and an attacker, in part to his ability at anticipating the danger first.

Ward-Prowse should have at least a 19 in free-kicks, if not a 20. Even in summer he was one of the best freekick takers on the planet, with his freekick goals this season he has the best direct freekick conversion rate of all footballers in major leagues on the planet.

If you read and follow the first post then you'll give the Southampton researcher tangible evidence to look into your opinion in more detail.
